Below the Union Hotel is a tavern called Mona's which is connected and an addition to The Union Hotel restaurant/12 room hotel. There's parking along the Main Street, as well as lots of spots in the back of the building. You can enter from the main entrance of the hotel and take the elevator down or you can head down the steps in the back to enter. Doesn't matter which way, just get here. We were absolutely blown away by the quality, portions, flavor profiles, and service in this little gem. We sat at the bar and were greeted immediately by a super friendly bartender named Matt. He was very attentive, friendly and welcoming. He was always checking up on us and making sure that we were always good. Service was fabulous. There's a timeline of the history of this historic building on the back of the menu. We ordered two drinks. One was an apple cider margarita and the other was a strawberry gin fizz concoction that was amazing. Both of these drinks were delicious. If we weren't driving and staying in the actual hotel above this tavern, we would have tried several other ones on the menu. Lots of creative choices that looked to be tasty based on the mix of ingredients. For the food - the menu was enticing and extensive. Lots of creative things happening here. The app we decided on was the Parmesan crusted Brussels and boy did they not disappoint. Absolutely delicious. We opted for The French Dip with fries and some magical au jus and a Union Smash burger with fries for our meals. Both are highly recommended!!! The burger was served on this delicious cloud of brioche bun and stacked high with two patties (perfectly cooked), pickles, dijonaose, and cheese. The French Dip had the most magnificent crusty roll and tender meat. Then there are these amazing Parmesan parsley fries that are perfectly cooked and served hot! We could have eaten an entire plate of these. To go boxes were needed. Big portions. We couldn't fit dessert! The bill does come with some tasty Andes mints. Prices here are extremely reasonable! I can't stress enough about how absurd it is that this small town has such a hidden treasure of a place where the food is beyond amazing. This place is a full package. If you live anywhere within an hour or even two, come here!! You won't regret this decision. Scrumptious!!!!

We got the smash burger with truffle fries and some beers, and I'm not kidding when I say it was one of the best burgers I've had in awhile! The town of Everett is super cute and quaint. The drive is beautiful, especially on a sunny day in the fall. The leaves are incredible. As you're driving winding roads along Wills Creek, Hillbilly Haven pops out of nowhere. You'll see plenty of pick-up trucks, four-wheelers and side-by-sides. What you get: is an absolutely quintessential dark, country, dive bar. Beloved by locals, they have pool tables, a small live music and dance area inside and a really nice outside area in the back. You'll meet some of the nicest people. Just remember-it is a local country bar and when in Rome... Here's the big draw-oh my goodness, the food! People come from miles away to get take-out. The wings are perfectly seasoned no matter the sauce/rub, juicy but crisp. The Hillbilly Deluxe burger puts a Big Mac to shame. The smoked meats are done on site by people who really know what they're doing. If you're looking for a Saturday or Sunday road trip on a pretty day and some terrific food, find Hillbilly Haven. Grab a beer and enjoy the country. ATV recommended but not required. This update from my friend April- "

My partner was in the restroom so went after us to get his drink, he ordered, she asked for his id, just like everyone else. He then gave it to her and she took it then proceeded to take it into the back, COMPLETELY bent it in half and CREASE it. He didn't say anything he doesn't care to argue about it. But I do:)) So I went and asked if she bent it she lied and told me no, to which I corrected her and told her we know she did (his id is brand new and it says it on there). Her reason is "PA IDs don't bend" I said i understand but this isn't a Pa id and informed her of the 3 main ways to know it is real also told her to make a google search. She refused to check it again and said she didn't need to serve him. (Which I know is true) At the end of the day you do not do this to someone's GOVERNMENT documents‍ mind u the owner was right there the whole time and both of them tried to tell me no one bent it and grab it out of my hands I was showing them. I also did crease my friends PA ID‍

When you go in, it looks like a total dive but when you see the menu and you taste the food, you'll forget all about how the place looks. You walk in and you're confronted with the bar which Shih Tzu about maybe 6 to 7 people. Looks like an old saloon. You walk in a little bit more and the two bathrooms are right there right in front of you. And to the left is the dining area. There's ample seating for about 50 people and the seating is wide open. There's also outdoor seating on their deck as well. The food fair is American food. They have good things like the Reuben. They're sweet potato fries to die for and a whole sleeve of other things. She was waiting on all the tables and one was a large party! She never once dropped the ball. Just a nice environment and relaxing space. The food is also great! We ordered mozzarella sticks, burger with fries, a Philadelphia cheesesteak with onions and sweet peppers (highly recommend), and a Rueben. Get the sweet potato fries!!! They are waffle fries and they are delicious. Ask for honey mustard for dipping. Everything was good and we didn't wait long at all for the food to come out. The menu is extensive and offers a great variety. We stopped here as we were traveling along the PA turnpike. It seems like it's a little far off, but you can jump right back in without going out of your way. This place is worth the drive. Plenty of parking and don't forget the saloon doors!!
