Tried this restaurant out for the first time last night. I got the crab cake dinner & a margarita…read more Our table also ordered a pasta dish. I believe it was called the seafood lovers pasta or something similar & we got my son the kids burger and fries. Everything we ordered was DELICIOUS. I wish we wouldn't have waited so long to try this place out since moving here! The service was great as well. Our server was upbeat, attentive & friendly. She did a great job! We will for sure be back!

In all the time that I have lived in and around Johnstown, I had never been able to make it here…read more On a recent trip back home I met my sister and her family for a dinner. I'm glad I finally did to check this place of my to try list. From the outside, it looks like a typical hole-in-the-wall bar in the Johnstown area. I had no idea where parking was because every time I drove past here I would be doing it at a pace I couldn't see. I was happy to see that there was ample parking behind the street facing building. Entry from the parking lot takes you up stairs or a zig-zagging ramp that looks fairly new. This area is also connected to an outdoor seating area, can't really call it a patio. Or, you can enter from outside and take the stairs up into dining room. This is a seat yourself establishment. Once you are seated, you are greeted and given menus. What an extensive menu it is. The amount of items on the menu, if you haven't been here before, can be daunting. It took me a few minutes to just give it a once over. When the server came back around to take our drink order she asked if we needed a few more minutes, yes, we did. When she returned I was ready to go. I ordered the Pickle Chips as my appetizer and the Howler as my main. The Pickle Chips were served with a side of ranch for dipping and they were amazing. Perfectly coated, not too much and not too little. Dipping in the ranch cooled them down just enough to be enjoyable. Now, the Howler, is kind of an experience. The Howler is one of their signature burgers. Half-pound patty cooked to your liking. The set toppings on this burger is bacon, choice of cheese (American Cheddar, Swiss, Provolone, or Pepper Jack), meat sauce, and a fried egg. You also can choose to add lettuce tomato onion and pickle. For mine, I went American for the cheese, lettuce, onion and pickle. There really wasn't any need for condiments as there was already so much on the burger to give it flavor. It almost comes off as either a breakfast burger or a chili cheese burger. Although I did as for medium, they overcooked it a bit. What was a nice addition here was the side. You can go with the traditional fries or go for one of many that don't seem to have an upcharge to it. Tater tots, slaw, applesauce, or nachos and one item for an upcharge, onion rings. I went with tater tots. Overall, this was an enjoyable meal. Our service was impeccable. Atmosphere was lively.

I'm pretty sure a few people here aren't racist, but there is definitely racism going on!…read more I took my wife out for lunch, only to get mugged at upon entrance--basically, we got a nasty look like, What are they doing here? I greeted a few guests as we walked in with my usual, How are you guys doing? The first thing we were asked was, Are you drinking? We replied, No, we're here to eat only! While putting in our order before being seated, we ordered a dozen wings and mentioned that we'd like to try a few more flavors. The bartender/server recommended getting plain wings with the sauces on the side. I said, Okay, sounds good, but instead of just a dozen, give us a half dozen more. I even pointed at the menu while saying this--first at the dozen, then at the half dozen, making it clear we wanted 18 wings total: 12 with sauce and 6 plain for dipping. Instead, she brought out two dozen wings--12 sauced and 12 plain. When I tried to explain the mix-up, she wouldn't even let me finish. She just kept rudely cutting me off, repeating, What do you want me to do? What do you want me to do? louder each time. I turned to my wife and said, Why is she talking to us like this? Like we aren't even customers? At this point, I got pissed off and said, What the hell, this stupid bitch. I'll admit, I probably shouldn't have said that--but at the same time, I have freedom of speech, and we were being treated like garbage when we were just trying to have a meal together. The bartender/server then grabbed our plates off the table and said, That's it, that's it, before walking back behind the bar with our food. Then the cook came out acting like some club security guard, pounding one fist into her palm like she was ready to fight. I'm standing there thinking, Look at this bullshit. All we wanted was to eat, and instead, they kicked us out after a full-blown screaming match. The cook got so close to my face that our noses almost touched, with spit flying all over me--disgusting! As we were walking out, she was so heated that she screamed at me all the way to our car, calling me nigga! So I called her a fat dyke. She was so desperate to fight that it seemed to hurt her that we didn't. Now for my diagnosis--We should have been treated better. If this was someone's grandma, she would have handled the situation professionally and taken care of her customers. Instead, the fat one even admitted that the minute we walked in, the bartender told her in the back, They look like trouble. Oh, and I got that on video. That just proves they were profiling us the second we walked in. Smh. And to top it off, the big one followed us all the way outside, trying to instigate a fight, even threatening to call the cops to scare us. At this point, it's beyond just bad service--this is discrimination and harassment. No paying customer should be treated this way, let alone be threatened, yelled at, or followed out of an establishment just for existing. The fact that they immediately labeled us as "trouble" the second we walked in shows clear racial profiling, and it's all on video. We have every right to take legal action for discrimination, harassment, and even defamation, considering they tried to make us out to be the aggressors when it was their staff that escalated everything. I'll be looking into my options, whether that's filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, pursuing legal action, or making sure everyone in the area knows how this place really operates. If you believe in respect, equality, and not being harassed just for walking into a restaurant, I'd suggest staying far away from this place.

I drove by this so many times and had no idea it was a bar. I blame that on the signage out front…read moreand the fact that it's in a plaza with an Ace Hardware store. You see Ace and then trophy you think that it's a sporting goods store. But I digress. Out one evening with my family and we decided to come here. Just happens to be my sister's favorite place. I was totally surprised when I walked in here and saw how modern it was. I was expecting the typical Johnstown bar that has the dive-y, run down look going. Not here. Bright lighting that can be dimmed, large areas for multitudes of people, a large U shaped bar and just a good time to be had. One side of the bar has a dedicated seating area. During the earlier hours you can dine in house. I can not speak to the food here as I only experienced the bar. The other side of the bar has more of a recreation feel to it. Pool tables, dart boards, golf arcade game, jukebox (Touch Tunes). When the music is playing, it's quite nice and with the app, you don't need to get up and meander over to the machine on the wall. Bartenders are amazing. They do everything with a smile and are very attentive. Smoking is permitted outside only, which can turn out to be a very entertaining area to be. Staff come out here to let off some steam.

I then asked to speak to the owner and very aggressively she responded, "I'm the F******* owner". I caused no harm and the incompetent bouncers then locked me outside. I sustained injury to my hand and leg. The bouncers didn't even check to see if I was ok. Police and an ambulance were called. I will be pressing charges against this horrible and disgusting person/employee. She's a huge liability. This isn't the first time that she's been violent at her place of employment. I would be embarrassed to have her working for me. She is trash!! *** Also, This establishment keeps taking down this review. I will continue to get what happened to me out in the public!! **** The owner's reply "Always remember there are 2 sides to every story. First calling Someone a name to start out your comment is not a good look. "Ugly Jackie"? We have 64 cameras on property. This was all caught on numerous cameras. You were asked to leave Multiple times in a few minute timeframe, You then proceeded in flipping the middle finger to Jackie the bar-tender. She then came around from the back of the bar to help escort you off premises. When you got to the doorway a CUSTOMER. I repeat a CUSTOMER. pushed you out the door where you hit your leg and fell to the ground. The officers came and got the footage and I'm sure you will be notified of this. Again, A CUSTOMER, A MALE CUSTOMER, not a security guard, or any employee, then proceeded in Grabbing you and pushed you out the door. You hit the side of the door. You are correct, the Security Guard did then stop you and your friend from re-en-tering the building. Due to the scene you two created inside. You then called police and received an ambulance. In today's day and age cameras do not lie. Sometimes people do. I was not present, But once again. Watched the surveillance with the police today and this is what was seen by all. We were told to give you a notice to stay off the property. So here is your notice. Do not come back to Woodside Bar and Grill" *** It's amazing how false the owner's entire response is. I talked to the police and what he saying is indeed incorrect and actually, your manager was the one to release the footage to Stoneycreek Police. You were not involved. The owner, Robert, is trying to cover himself and his crappy violent establishment. Thank you for not welcoming me back because I wouldn't come back even if you paid me. I want nothing to do with people who support violence in this community and lying. I mean this sincerely, I hope one day that this places closes.

ONE STAR -- FIVE STARS FOR WAYANN, ZERO FOR MANAGEMENT!…read more I have NEVER been so disappointed in a restaurant I once enthusiastically recommended. We visited Westwood Bar & Grill on October 11 to celebrate my father-in-law's birthday. What should have been a wonderful family celebration turned into one of the worst dining experiences I've ever experienced. BUT FIRST, LET ME RECOGNIZE ONE EXTRAORDINARY EMPLOYEE: WAYANN! Wayann was our server, and she was absolutely AMAZING! This poor woman was single-handedly taking care of approximately seven or eight tables, running nonstop, visibly sweating, overwhelmed, and doing everything humanly possible to keep customers happy. Despite everything, she remained kind, gracious, professional, and incredibly hardworking. WAYANN DESERVES FIVE STARS, A RAISE, AND THE SUPPORT SHE CLEARLY WASN'T GETTING! Unfortunately, everything else was a disaster. Our meals arrived at completely different times. Some were cold, others were incorrect. Food was dropped amid the chaos, and we personally witnessed two tables of four GET UP AND WALK OUT. Meanwhile, the bartender, Tory, had approximately TWO customers seated at the bar. I approached her and politely asked whether she could help our overwhelmed server by preparing additional drinks. Rather than demonstrating basic teamwork, I was met with an unbelievably rude, dismissive, and argumentative attitude. She asked what everyone was drinking. I explained that I wasn't the server and asked whether she could look up the orders or speak with Wayann. Instead of helping, she made the exchange unnecessarily difficult. I've rarely witnessed such a lack of teamwork while one employee was clearly struggling! I privately approached a gentleman whose name I believe was Scot or Steve and explained my concerns. He became defensive but assured me the situation would be handled. NOTHING VISIBLY IMPROVED. As customers continued leaving, the restaurant became practically empty. I even took photographs showing the nearly empty dining room and bar. At one point, I actually called the bar while sitting INSIDE THE RESTAURANT. NOBODY ANSWERED THE PHONE! I spoke with Scot or Steve AGAIN. He asked what was still wrong. I explained that we were celebrating my father-in-law's birthday, our meals arrived cold, incorrect, and at different times, the bartender's attitude was unacceptable, and my call to the bar went unanswered. I SPECIFICALLY REQUESTED A DISCOUNT. After everything we experienced, I thought that was entirely reasonable. Was a discount offered? NO. Was any other immediate resolution offered? NO. Instead, he simply took my name and phone number. That was it. TO THE OWNERS, GREG AND LAUREN: I sincerely hope you read this. I'm visiting from Washington, DC, and I've eaten here before. In fact, I previously gave your restaurant RAVE REVIEWS. I understand restaurants get busy. I understand staffing shortages happen. I can even forgive food mistakes. What I cannot understand is watching an exceptional employee struggle without adequate support while management fails to address legitimate customer complaints. We weren't looking for special treatment. We simply wanted a nice birthday dinner, properly prepared food, and management willing to address problems. Instead, we received cold and incorrect meals, encountered an unnecessarily rude bartender, and received no meaningful resolution. AND PLEASE, DO NOT BLAME WAYANN FOR ANY OF THIS! She was the ONLY bright spot in an otherwise miserable experience. WAYANN, IF YOU EVER READ THIS, THANK YOU! Your kindness, patience, and extraordinary work ethic did not go unnoticed. You deserve recognition and a workplace that supports you. FIVE STARS FOR WAYANN. ZERO FOR THE BARTENDER'S ATTITUDE AND MANAGEMENT'S HANDLING OF OUR EXPERIENCE. The saddest part? Westwood has an exceptional employee in Wayann, but even the best server cannot compensate for an entire operation that fails to support her. I wouldn't return if someone paid me. Greg and Lauren, your customers deserve better, and WAYANN DESERVES FAR BETTER!
