We dined Friday the day before Valentine's Day and were disappointed to find out it was a very limited menu that nobody informed us of when booking rsvp. Manager said they included their top sellers for ease and to better serve their customers (mind you with a much higher price point than we were prepared for & we're repeat customers). We understood the reason for it.. just would've been nice to know in advance, as we had our hearts set on other dishes. Unfortunately we experienced terrible service. We ordered a bottle of wine and our 2 entrees: Seafood carbonara & the halibut which was a bit dry and mashed potatoes were cold. As soon as we ordered we never saw her again, except to hunt her down for our check. She never came to ask how our meal was after it was delivered, nor did she come by to fill our wine (like has always happened in the past). Never came to even ask if we wanted dessert. Just AWFUL service!! She even brought us the wrong check. Thank goodness we caught it, as it was double the price of ours. We felt like we were taken advantage of... forced to pay a much steeper price for a very limited menu and then not getting the fine dining service we've experienced in past visits. Restaurant was playing Aerosmith loud & did not go with the restaurants ambience at all. I will add that we came for Valentines Day last year & there was not a limited menu then, so just would've been nice to know of this change so we could have reviewed the menu. Their regular menu has a ton of entree options. This limited menu had like 6-8 & all very high priced. We had made reservations to celebrate my birthday. We arrived early and were seated 15 minutes late. We did not see our waiter for an additional 15 minutes to even be served a glass of water. By 9 pm we still had not been served the main course. Unfortunately prior to 9, we had spilled red wine on the table and all over me. No one would stop or even address the spill to help clean up. We were on the main walk to the kitchen and they wouldn't even make eye contact to ask if we needed assistance. They then tried to place the food on the soiled tablecloth and napkins. We asked to have the soiled linens replaced and they opted moving us to another table. They served lukewarm food. The jumbo Madagascan tiger prawn looked like it was been frozen for such a long period of time it was completely flat and stuck to the shell! I was so disappointed that we washed to simply pay for what we had consumed which was wine and appetizer. There was no apology for the long wait, no apology for not assisting with the spilled wine, and no apology for the cold food. Lastly, the food was so cold that the cheese on top of my husband's meal was not even melted. It was still shredded like it had been taken from the refrigerator. This was the first place I had suggested to celebrate my 60th - it was very unfortunate and I will not recommend or go again. read more

We celebrated our anniversary last night, and so enjoyed the atmosphere! our waiter, Chris, recommended the pasta with truffle sauce. we added wild boar to it, and WOW! amazing! Brandon was our server and he was an outstanding server. After asking us if we were celebrating anything, he made out 51st anniversary special. He offered to take out photos. Had he not done that, we likely wouldn't have thought to get photos. Now we have photos to go into an album. We started with Bombay Safire martinis and the pair and Gorgonzola salad followed by eggplant Parmigiana. We were torn between that and eggplant lasagna. He helped us decide. I love eggplant. Brandon convinced us that we would get more eggplant flavor from the breaded eggplant than from the lasagna. I still plan to go back and try the lasagna which uses slices of eggplant for lasagna noodles. What a great idea. We weren't disappointed. We finished by sharing a dessert. It was delicious. We actually got it to go and shared it along with champagne. If I had to pick one word to describe this restaurant, it would be class. I have only ever posted one review, and that was seven years ago. That is because I usually can find something good in even the worst situation, and I eat out a lot (almost evey day). But tonight has forced me to post a second review. We used to like this place a few years ago and thought we would try it again this evening. The food was unbelievably tasteless, and the prices were ridiculous for the portion sizes, and different than posted on their website. I celebrated my 27th birthday here this year with a large group of people. VERY pleased. The service was EXCEPTIONAL!! The food was DIVINE. The ambiance was exactly what I wanted. It was a 10/10 beautiful fine dining experience. A few people in my party had to bring their kids and the servers were very kind and understanding about it and handled the kids with such ease. Villa Ravenna is a nice Italian restaurant. Looks great from outside and inside. I love the music playing as you enter the restaurant, really good music. Inside, it's dim lit , well suited for date nights. Apparently, it's won many accolades. It's a slow dine in service restaurant so a quick eat is definitely out of the question. Service is good, although on a slower pace. Even food takes time and come out in an orderly fashion. I think they start cooking for main dish only after you've finished your salad or soup. The Insulata Villa Ravenna is the most popular salad and it's good. I love the dressing and the pickled onions, really good. The fettuccine Alfredo is good as well; portion size is on a smaller end though. I should have tried the ravioli alla panna because it's stuffed with meats, something other restaurants may not have. Oh well, another time and another visit which I don't mind. Overall, great Italian restaurant that costs a little more than others but is worth a try. I will have to come back for the ravioli. If you enjoy an elegant evening out and outstanding Italian food DO NOT GO TO VILLA RAVENNA. We were a party of 9, all experienced foodies, and had one of the worst meals ever. Most of the food was delivered cold, and one dish was delivered about 15 minutes after the rest. We ordered a variety of veal dishes, in all cases the veal was over-cooked, inedible, and smothered in a variety of gravies, not the light bodied sauces ordinarily accompanying veal. The waiter was particularly obnoxious, unwilling/unable to answer questions about the food preparation. Garlic bread and plain bread came with the meal; when we asked for more garlic bread he simply ignored us. To top it off the prices were about 10% more than the internet menu. So, why did we go there.\? Well, one member of our party said she had a fine meal there about a month ago. She was terribly embarrassed and apologized profusely to the group but it was what it was. We were also particularly disturbed by crying children at an adjacent table - on Saturday night. Again, don't waste a dining experience, go anywhere else. read more

My husband and I came here for a drug rep presentation in their back room. The service was great and they seemed pretty attentive to our needs. They slipped in and out quietly while the presenter was talking which was nice. When I got my steak it was a little undercooked but they immediately fixed it and it was delicious. FREEZER TO TABLE It was a huge red flag when the first thing they serve you is garlic bread at an Italian restaurant. Service was great, food was terrible, especially for the price point. I had the Vitello Alla Piccata(veal with noodles), it was disappointing, brown sauce was salty and the veal was frozen, over cooked and chewy. I had thought when we first walked him that we were probably not appropriately dressed, nor did we have a reservation. However, I was wrong on both accounts. Fine Italian dining it truly is, although Tulsa's a more relaxed and a comfortable atmospheric experience. We were seated quickly enough at around 4:45 pm on a hot August afternoon. We were greeted promptly by our younger waiter, Joshua. I must say that his knowledge, intelligible speech recital of the menu was excellent. Very polished. Therefore, the service was attentive enough but not obnoxiously so. The meals pacing was nice. Later, the owner who actually is from near Venice Italy came over for a brief visit. He spoke with my wife who can speak Italian as well. I'd recommend Villa Ravenna and we'd come back. Spouse liked his Osso Buco very much but asked for gremolotta which is a usual accompaniment for the dish, but waiter didn't know what it was. My sea bass was dish was good but a little short on seasoning & flavor. Risotto sides were delicious especially the mushroom. Was disappointed in our ameretta crème brûlée desert. I have been coming here for years and they have some good tried and true dishes. I ordered something new - fettuccine with garlic olive oil sauce with vegetables. The first presentation was the quickly recognizable frozen medley of peas, corn, tiny square carrots and green beans. I was shocked and asked for fresh vegetables. The second dish was brought back with different vegetables- broccoli and cauliflower with the ridged carrot disks. I tried the vegetables and they were obviously water logged after being previously frozen. Now I was mad. This is unacceptable for a restaurant like this. Turns out they don't have fresh. Then why put that dish on the menus? Do they think the customers won't notice? Why not tell me after round 1 that round 2 was going to be the same and suggest something else? read more

Why have I not reviewed this before? They can make almost any dish gluten free! They've been around now for a while and for a reason. The food is fantastic! The owner is on site so if there is ever a problem he is there to make it right. We came for the special Mother's Day lunch and we're not disappointed. We both chose the fettuccine carbonara with shrimp scallops and lobster. So rich I could not finish it all. And a grilled Gorgonzola pear with walnuts on top and spinach with balsamic beneath. So good! Although we didn't get it this time, they have their own house made limoncello. We will definitely be coming back, and never had a problem, as we've been here several times. We were looking for some good Italian food, and Villa Ravenna did not disappoint. They had quite a list of specials, so we ordered halibut ($38) and bison ribeye ($58). My halibut was cooked well. It was crispy on the outside, and it would have been great with mashed potato. However, I substituted it for their house pasta so that I can try their pasta too. It was the first time my husband has eaten bison, and he enjoyed his bison ribeye. Both the fish and bison were a decent portion. We will be back to try their pasta dishes. read more

It pains me to leave this review. Villa Ravenna has been our family's favorite Tulsa restaurant since our first visit over ten years ago. We dined there last night and were greeted by an unfamiliar face. We learned during our visit (after asking our waiter) that Sergio and Yanni sold the restaurant a couple months ago. Service has always been exceptional at this restaurant. Unfortunately, our server last night (another new face) repeatedly left empty plates on the table between courses, even after being reminded that they needed to be removed. Food: the fried zucchini Gorgonzola and porcini Marsala appetizers were excellent. Entrees: My wife always orders the shrimp arribiata. Waiter forgot the shrimp and served it without. When brought to his attention, her plate was left on the table and another server showed up ten minutes later with shrimp on a side plate. Son ordered Caesar salad and asked for chicken to be added. The chicken that was served appeared to have been microwaved. Although it was obvious that the dish was unsatisfactory from the fact that he didn't eat it, the server never inquired. Son's tenderloin was very good, as was his side of pasta with whiskey cream sauce. I ordered the prawn special. I have ordered this dish several times in the past. The prawn was overcooked, and the greens over salted. The seafood risotto accompaniment was good. All said, for a meal that is close to $300 including tip for a party of three (food only, no alcohol), the standard should be fairly high. This experience failed to approach that standard. Sergio always made a point to personally visit our table to ask about our experience. That personal touch and concern appears to be long gone. We will cherish the special times we enjoyed at this restaurant over the years, but will need to find a new favorite Italian spot in Tulsa. Warm wishes to Sergio and Yanni, wherever they may be. Tried dinner here with my wife for the first time. It was pretty busy on a Friday night. Interestingly, they close at 9 pm even on the weekends. However, we arrived at 8:30 and were never rushed even though we were the last table to leave well after 9 pm. Martinis were prepared as requested, and were cold, which is key to us. Blue cheese olives were available; however it appeared they charged $2 for those - not a big deal but take note. Bread and olive oil on the side was really good; buttery, garlicky, and soft with a crisp exterior. The menu is very extensive with seemingly all the Italian classics from starters to desserts. My wife had the veal picatta and I tried the lasagna. We started with steamed mussels in a delicious garlic and butter broth. They were very good and the broth was perfect for the bread. Entrees were prepared classically - the veal picatta had a linguini with spinach on the side. The lasagna was good - nothing really special, but a fair portion - no leftovers for me. The servers were efficient, and we were tended to by at least three different ones during our meal. Desserts were shown on an iPad, which was interesting considering the otherwise classic feel. We passed on dessert, but learned most were made in-house but a few were not.
