For this time I wish I could give no stars!! Placed an order for carry out and arrived at the given time and was told that the pizza hadn't even been put in the oven yet!! Was told it wasn't my problem that they had gotten busier and after waiting at the restaurant for 30 min pizza still wasn't ready. Made no concessions and not apologetic at all for the wait or incorrect wait time given!!! Horrible customer service and extremely rude employees and management!! read more

Villa Pizza probably has the best pizza in town. I like the crust which is less doughy than Papa John's. We ordered anchovies and capicola on one side and mushroom with pepperoni on the other side with hot peppers all over. I never thought they would have capicola in a small town. See, you just never know. read more

I really would give it a 3 1/2. The pizza at Villa's is not the best in the world, but it is the best pizza in the Mattoon area. The crust is not like the overly doughy Papa John's pizza. I would compare it to Domino's dough. The price of the pizzas are decent and they have several different toppings. They also offer a salad bar and pastas, not only pizza. I would suggest visiting Villa's whenever your in Mattoon. read more

This was a date night spot we went to. It was perfect for what you want in a small town pizza place. I got jalapeno and pineapple on my half. it was good. and the iced tea was not fountain there, which is a plus. It kind of reminded me of Pat's Pizza, in Ellsworth, ME. that is a good thing. read more

Being a lifetime Toony, I loved the Villa Pizza of old, before aspirations of expansion and I am assuming more money. Product is inconsistent at best and what used to be tje best value in town is one of the more expensive choices. I have only been able to get a delivery in under an hour once since reopening and have had issues a few times trying to carry out instead. Sad. read more

Pizza couldn't of been better! I heard from others that this was one of the best places in town I can't disagree. We got a pepperoni pizza and it was ready as soon as we got there. I'm new in town so I haven't tried too many other places but its a keeper for sure. Cheers! read more

I'm in town for a Sullivan High reunion, and have not before been exposed to Villa. Monical's has always been a reliable area pizzeria, but I'm always seeking a local option, and so Villa it was. The pizza components ranged from good to extremely good, and the ones I considered merely good were matters of taste rather than of quality. For instance, the crust was thicker than I prefer, and there was considerably more cheese than I like. As for the latter, in particular, I could have fixed that with a simple "light cheese" request and, as both of these 'faults' may well be big plusses for someone else, these don't count against the quality. But on to the 'extremely good' category: they make their own sauce, and it shows. This is _not_ out-of-the-can stuff; the herbal flavor is noticeably different (in a very interesting and satisfying way) than any sauce I remember. If you're in Mattoon, give Villa a try! read more

This pizza is amazing! I traveled here from oswego, Illinois and had this for lunch today and was thoroughly impressed. It's like having Chicago style pizza out in the boondocks. It is so good! read more

The buffet was wonderful last night!! Very good food at decent price!!!! Will go again!!!

Read the reviews on yelp. Thought I d try it. Took an hour for delivery on a Monday night. Tasted like a tony s frozen pizza at a Chicago pizza price. Would rather have eaten cardboard flavored with red pepper. Boo this place. Boo.. read more

We are very happy Villa has opened back up. Villa is definitely my family's (and most of Mattoon) favorite. Consequently delivery times can be extremely long, so we usually pick it up. The crust and sauce are awesome and they top the pizza with just the right amount of cheese. If you are looking for a great pizza you will not be disappointed! read more

Excellent Pizza and service. Im from out of town and ordered based on locals recommendations. The Villa special (supreme) was excellent. The delivery was fast and the employees I spoke to were friendly. Would definitely order again! read more

I was raised on villa pizza. The villa special was a Friday night staple at the Fonner house when we were growing up in the 1980s and 90s. Still a favorite go to place every time we are back in Mattoon. read more

Just ordered a lrg supreme pizza for delivery, said it would take about 35 minutes, had pizza in about 15 minutes, not only quick service, but pizza was delivered like it just literally came out of the oven, very hot, very good, will never order another pizza from anywhere except here again!!!!!! read more

Good pizza and buffet, but they burned down last night. Owner has already said that they are going to rebuild.

Best pizza in Mattoon, bar none. Their Villa special is great, The crust is just the way a hand made pizza should be. They burned down last year, but have re-opened for Carry-out and Delivery. They have plans to rebuild the dining room, can't wait for that. read more

Best pizza ever! Moved away from the area and this is one of the first places I go every single time I visit. I love that when I ask for light sauce, they actually do it! Crust is amazing, toppings are great, and it's just all around great pizza! Just finished a sausage, pepperoni, and extra cheese with light sauce and it was perfect! read more

i love villa!!!! I used to work there and my brother did and now my son dose my daughter loves the pizza and the people that work there

This is my favorite pizza place. Pizza by the slice for lunch is a great deal . Villa special is a hometown winner. I would highly recommend Villa pizza as your next pizza. read more

Just traveling through Illinois. Very clean, well decorated interior, clean bathrooms. Waitresses were very attentive. Good food. I would recommend. read more

Villa is definitely the best pie in Mattoon! But I am from Charleston so Pagliai's is the pie for me. In the St. Louis area Imo's takes the prize as my favorite pie bar none! read more

if you like crackers with ketchup and cheese baked on it, you'll love villa! another yocal over rated restaurant, along with Burger King. the pies are baked like most generic pizza shops are, by using a cheap pizza oven. the crust is like a cracker, no taste, almost like cardboard, the sauce is dry and not seasoned very well. the best thing about their pizzas is the cheese. they do have good cheese. prices are high too. read more

Villa has reopened and is still a good, if inconsistent pie. I do wish the sauce was a bit lighter. The stand up pepperoni pie is amazing, so if you've never had that, give it a go. Takeout and delivery only. No dine in service. read more

Walk in, take a seat and start eating if you are having the buffet (can be awkward on your first visit). The waitress will come around and get your drink orders. Yes their pizza is good! However, I enjoy the salad bar and fish when it is on the buffet. The fish is really good when it's hot out of the oven, don't let it get cold. I don't usually get a salad when I'm at a restaurant, but the shredded lettuce, cheese, bacon pieces and chicken toppings I couldn't resist! They also have a delicious potato salad and broccoli salad. They keep things stocked very well on the buffet. I haven't had their lasagna but it's something I want to try next time. Villa's sausage pizza is my favorite because it's not greasy. If that makes sense, you'll have to try it a let me know your thoughts. Oh, and the drink glasses are huge! Which is great, usually one refill is all I need, if that. I almost forgot the ice cream for dessert and see if you can find the cookies. They are kept out of the reach of small children. read more

Unique lunch buffet has pizza, pasta, salad, and speciality items. The green beans are usually good. Get there before 1 for lunch for best choices and freshness. Staff is friendly. Cleanliness is good. They have an evening and Sunday brunch buffet, but I have not tried. Thin crust is hand tossed and not crispy thin like Monical's. So happy they finally rebuilt after the fire. read more

Ordered a half and half pizza and the toppings were just thrown all over the pizza.. half was suppose to be olives and half tomatoes; but the pizza had olives on almost 3/4 of it and tomatoes on more then half of it as well. I called the store to tell them and the manager (a young guy named Jason) pretty much told me off.. He said that he knew he was going to have problems with me because my order was so specific that he knew I wasn't going to be happy. He was smarting off saying "I'll make you a new pizza, but.." I just cut him off and hung up.. I've ordered at least twenty times from there in the 18 months I've lived in Mattoon and I've never called to complain about anything and the way he treated me has made me a "former" customer!! read more

Do not order from here!! Took close to 2 hours for a small pizza to be delivered. Call the restaurant several times and no one seemed to apologize or care. When finally delivered, the pizza was not what I ordered. Waste of time and money !!! read more

I have had a lot of great pizza from a lot of great places and I rank Villa Pizza as my number one choice of pie in the world. In my opinion you just can not beat a Villa Special. Sure there may be better pizza out there at fine dinning restaurants, but for 20 bucks and at your door in a box in 30 min, this pizza is impossible to beat. And the owners treat their customers right which says a lot about any business. So for a great slice of pie, dine in, delivery or carry out. Villa Pizza has my five stars. read more
