So at the start of my work/fun trip to Nashville, I had to take a different way than planned…read more(thanks to the crazy aftermath of the storms in the Chicagoland area)...so it brought me down towards Central Illinois. I knew the Original Burger King (the one that filed a suit against the chain and won) and where it was at, so decided to check them out (also persuaded by an Instagram contact, Grazinguse, who I follow and loved it!) It was a great choice as the service was very good and fast. I got a cheeseburger but instead of fries I opted for fried mushrooms...fresh, hot, and delicious! Then in the end I got a vanilla milkshake...also very tasty and a decent size for the money. So noted was that the ice cream and shakes are a separate counter (to the right of where you get the your burgers and sides). For anyone road tripping and are passing through this part of Illinois, make a stop! You will not be disappointed.

First time visiting this Steak 'n Shake, and unfortunately I left without ordering…read more I asked two employees if I could place my order verbally. Both told me that orders could only be placed through the kiosk. I was preparing to use the kiosk when the manager came over and took another customer's order herself. I explained to her that I had just been told by two employees that they didn't take orders verbally. Instead of acknowledging the conflicting information, she denied that the employees had told me that and made it seem like I was the problem. She then said she could take my order. At that point, the experience had already left a bad impression, so I decided to leave without ordering or spending any money. The issue wasn't having to use a kiosk. It was being given contradictory information and then having my concern dismissed when I brought it up. Management should make sure employees are giving customers consistent information and handle customer concerns professionally.

I live several miles out of town went to this establishment through the drive-through spent more than $60 on take home order. While in the drive-through they also needed me to pull ahead and wait extra time because something wasn't ready. The item with Uber eats they refused, and they're only resolution was that I could return to the restaurant and get the item. They also did not offer to remove the item from my charge card as a possible remedy. Very very poor service and problem resolution. And in my book when someone charges you for something you didn't get that is theft.
