I would give zero stars if possible. Got the order wrong multiple times and the driver was very rude with the third delivery. I would suggest eating at any pizza place but Angelo's when in Mattoon. Also the first pizza was very undercooked. Worst pizza experience I've ever had. Very sad. read more

I have never had a stuffed pizza before until I saw the picture of it on the online menu, and I knew right then and there that I needed to try it. It was Soooooo yummy!!! We got the supreme just in case you wanted to know We also ordered a small pizza for our daughter, and she also thought it was pretty good too. Also, the breadsticks are really good. This place has your pretty standard Italian food. It's mostly a pizza place that also specializes in pasta. They have a good pizza skillet which is what it sounds like. But I would recommend if you want pizza to just go ahead and get the pizza instead. Honestly my biggest surprise of this place was the chicken boat. It's basically a skillet made with breaded chicken cooked in BBQ sauce with bacon and cheese. It's really good. Get that if you want an appetizer. Staff was friendly and quick to serve us. I don't know what it is about Angelo's Pizza, but I dig their food. I call it "Midwestern Italian," because their pizza isn't what first comes to mind when you think "great pizza," and their other Italian dishes are fairly basic. I mean, this ain't even the Olive Garden, knowwhatImsayin? But what it lacks in gourmet standards, it hits out of the park in rich flavor--the sauce is oh-so sweet, and everything is thick with mozzarella cheese. I must have a weakness for the combination, because I can't stop craving it. The atmosphere is non-existant--it's just a dining room split by what used to be a railing to designate the "smoking section" (Yay for the smoking ban!!)--but who cares, the food is too good to care. read more

Took too long for our waitress to get us more drinks while we waited (had to ask her for more. About a 10 min gap when we got her attention) over all we waited about an hour to get our food as well. Our child ended up getting a cold roast beef sandwich and my chicken fettuccine tasted like it was a frozen dinner. We will not be back!! read more

Yummy!!! Just got a stuffed crust and it was perfect! Crusty on the outside, very cheesy on the inside. A couple of miles off Hwy 57, but well worth it!! Putting this on my list of excellent places to stop on my next trip to Wisconsin/Chicago! read more

I've had their deep dish Chicago style pizza several times and it's always good. The thin crust is good too. I always get Chicken Parmasean sandwich, it's great! A little pricey, but it's worth it to support a nice local place. The staff and owners are always nice and friendly. Never had a problem when we had it delivered either. I wish they had better appetizers and sides, very lacking in that department. read more

It was just ok. Nothing spectacular about the food and the temperature of the food was not hot when brought to the table. We waited about an hour for our food (party of 6) and we only ordered pasta and sandwiches. This was on a Saturday night but they were not overly crowded. Stopped here on way to ATL. The service was great and the staff friendly. Had salad and Thin crust pineapple and Canadian bacon pizza. Pizza was great! Hot and tasty. Salad your basic shredded affair with a piece of tomato or two. Cost a mere 20$ with drinks. Super reasonable and obviously a local destination. Give it a try. You will be very satisfied. read more

The sauce on pasta is delicious, service was poor. They did have a large group that was seated and had been waited on before we arrived. We ordered our meal along with dessert pizza, which they said they would bring out towards the end of our meal. 2 others tables seated after us, were served meals before ours. When we finished eating they gave us the ticket with no mention of dessert. 10 minutes later reminded waitress and asked to have it to go. Waitress returned a minute later and said it was being boxed up. Paid the bill and waited another 10 minutes at least until it was ready. Seemed very disorganized. Will not visit again. First time eating here on Saturday night. I really wasn't impressed, out deep dish pizza was like warm at best after waiting over an hour, the atmosphere was dark, and the women's bathroom was so small I could barely turn around in it. Still fairly confused as to why there are two sinks and two toilets in a cramped single bathroom in the first place.
