This was my first time ever having Jimmy John's food. For me this is just another deli sandwich nothing special. They have a drive-through. Plenty of parking. As for the cashier she was friendly, but i didn't ask to eat in but for take out & when my order was ready another person handed me my two sandwiches without being in a Togo bag ( her bags are free even in grocery stores ) so she got us a bag handed it to me and made me put it in the back myself. In addition to the person before me she did the same thing I found it kind of rude. As for the store, I found it very clean and beautiful inside. I doubt I'll ever go back to Jimmy John's because in California we have many other better places for a sandwich Know what I visit again this business when I'm in Mattoon Illinois read more

"Freaky slow delivery" at the Mattoon store. It did not used to be like this. This has only been happening the last year or so.

After lunch hr, we tried drive thru. Two cars in front of us. Waiting time 12 minutes. The lady in front of us gave her order. He asked her several times about her order. When we tried giving our order another waiting time. The guy who took the order obviously could not count neither understand what we wanted. At the window he came, no hello, no nim sorry it took to long, nothing. I asked to speak to the manager which was a waste of time. His excuse was I'm short staffed. He had two people making sandwiches, which normally are they're as well. We told the manager the guy was unable to understand what we needed. Not just us the lady in front as well. He said he needed new head sets. What?? Obviously the manager has problems . Train your people! I told him, the guy with taking orders should tell people that you short staffed. I order my food online for delivery. You are supposed to be able to add comments and directions in the "Instructions" section when you place an online order. I always order a sweet tea however they do not have that as a selection so I have to type it in the instructions. only 2 out of at least the past 10 times I have ordered have I actually gotten a sweet tea. I have submitted feedback and all they ever do about it is say they are sorry and will address the issue with the store. The store clearly could care less about getting your order correct and the company doesn't care about your experience with the store either! They never do anything to fix the mistake, it is very poor customer service and disappointing to not get what you paid for. read more

I went with my family here while traveling. The bread felt kind of stale, though there was a funny joke in the bathroom. Very fast service because, well it is Jimmy John's. The turkey on my sandwich was half put on. The cleanliness of the place was excellent though. The food was good though. There was very little parking and the delivery cars were taking up more space than the customers. There is some parking around the place you can park and walk too. Not too far. read more

I officially hate this Jimmy John's. Not only does their drive up have the most stupid pole next to it, they gave one of the grossest orders I've ever had from a restaurant yesterday. The meat was wrapped in ball, there was so much mayonnaise, no extra vinagrette, when I finally decided to pick it apart to what I could, there was a black hair in it. Can't beat the bread, and the ingredients are much higher quality than Subway uses! Service is always fast. I moved away from the area and Jimmy Johns is always on my meal list when I come back to visit. Excellent roast beef!! read more

I need to stress that the service at this location, for years has been absolutely crap. I used to order a gargantuan with no onions. 4 out of 5 times they got it wrong and my final time was when they gave me a sandwich back that obviously had just had the onions picked off because it tasted like onion. The manager argued with my wife, told her the customer was always wrong and hung up on her. Add to this Jimmy John's policies like the no competition clause he forces everyone, even delivery drivers, to sign and I will never order JJ'S again. read more

Went to park and they yelled out the drive-thru window we was not allowed to park there we had to move before we came in, it was our 1st time eating they're and already they were rude, I had to pay with a 50 and she got so made because I didn't have anything less so I will not eat at the Mattoon Jimmy John's again. read more

They had a pretty good vegetarian sandwich there, that was actually on the menu. This surprised me at first since everywhere else, outside of Chicago, in the vast landscape of Illinois, i had to explain that indeed wanted a sandwich with out meat but with all of the veggie. When i realized this is actually a smallish fast food chain it lost a couple points since they weren't actually trying to pull of this type of operation in a random small town. Went to JJ drive thru yesterday and had probably the worst experience with customer service. Woman working the drive thru window could not have been any more rude. She handed me my change and basically threw it at me....a $10 bill went flying out the window. She stared at me, then at the ground for about 5 seconds then slammed the drive thru window. No apology, no offer to chase the $ she basically threw at me and absolutely no resolution. This was AFTER she was already rude at speaker and got the order wrong. When I told her she needed to work on her customer service skills, she looked at me (like a complete dumba**), shrugged her shoulders with a pissy look on her face and just shut the window. What a moron. I would have asked to speak to manager, but unfortunately I have the flu...so I didn't want to go in. I will never be back and I'll be sure to let all social media know.
