Wife and I bought 2 brand new tires less than 2 months ago and we were here over 4 hours because the technicians had no idea what they were doing. So then we noticed them losing little air which can be normal in cold weather. Last week we noticed both tires losing more than 20 psi in 2 days so we brought it in to the Mattoon Walmart on May 1st 2026 and they looked at them put new valve stems in and aired them upto 50 psi and said they couldn't find anything wrong. I woke up Saturday morning and one of my tires was at 25 psi. It had lost that much air over night. So I called and brought it back on sunday the 3rd and they argued with me saying theres nothing wrong. Obviously there is or they wouldnt be losing that much air over night. I asked if the tires could be bad he said that I would have to contact the tire company lmao stupid you are the tire company I purchased them thru Walmart. At this point I think they need to refund me everything so I can go somewhere else where the technicians are trained and know what they are doing. read more

Could not find anything wrong here. No greeter but everyone friendly (except for one customer) . Ty in the deli was super, gave us tastes and a ranch whole wing sample. Ranch wing very tasty but one I had was too salty to eat more. French Swiss cheese sample good (we got 1/2 pound). Self check friendly helpful efficient. Crispy wings were crispy and good. Seafood salad good. Fresh cherries, blueberries and strawberries were excellent and organic. read more

My wife and I spent half an hour shopping for some Christmas gifts. "Band of Brothers" was among our purchases. The checkout woman was a total you know what, and asked to see both our driver's licenses. My wife (who is older than 18) did not have hers with her. If I brought a child into the store with me, and decided to purchase an R-rated film, would they require their identification too?? The woman was on a power trip, and being a bitch, just to be a bitch. This is the 2nd time this has happened. Won't be going back here until they use some common sense and fix their policies. Side note: If she was under 18 and I was trying to purchase this film for her, do you think I'd bring her with me? The same goes for alcohol. Get your heads outta your asses Wal-Mart. read more

This is the only WalMart Super Center in the area and it's a good one. One-stop shopping for everything, even has a gas station and pharmacy. The store is well laid out, as most Walmarts are. The staff is friendly and helpful and they have a good Deli and Bakery. Only wish they had a few more electric scooters for disabled people, I've had to wait a half-hour or more, more than once, for an available one on busy days. read more

Bathrooms are dirty, no paper towel to dry hands, blow dryers just blow around the germs. Went to the garden department, no brown rubber mulch. Called MATTOON, they have it. Went and paid . On the way out some of the employees walking 2 wide just looked at me while I stood to wait for them to pass, lake they have no care in the world that they are in the customers way. So I said excuse me, never moved. Walking straight toward them. This was in July 20 at 3:00 , close to the front of the store by the bathrooms with my cart. Then I walked a little further and 3 more standing talking to someone right in the walkway again. No one has any customer service any more. I've seen employees complaining about customers that are rude, the whole store is rude. We ask the gal in gardening if there was any brown rubber mulch, she soap " nope" walked on. Shame on you Walmart. You get more money from all of us than anyone and you still can't train your staff how to be kind and have a little customer service. read more

my husband and I were in the Mattoon store yesterday. I was disappointed all the benches were removed except 1. most shoppers and senior need a minute or so to set and rest or think of next purchase. we spent over $300.00 in the store . my husband asked a young woman about the benches she said she would check . she was very polite when she re turned she told my husband ifhe needed to sit go to the car. this is not acceptable . I will be spending a lot less in Walmart what a hateful remark. I rate this store as bad. read more

ATTENTION- Mattoon Residents - Do NOT go to Walmart for gas. Their pumps are not working properly, thereby causing the consumer to have to get out of the car in freezing weather (monitor says - please see attendant) to prepay for gas. Everyone knows how aggravating this is and when you go ahead and buy gas after that FAILURE of customer service, you reward Walmart either their complacency in providing functional gas pumps that will take credit card information and taking care of customers or, if you are like my paranoid self, their possible motive to MAKE people enter the store so that they will buy something while they are in there. If Walmart really cared about customer service, instead of giving you an electronic message to walk into the store in freezing weather to prepay, they would station an employee outside in the freezing weather taking care of people, their customers, so that they do not have to walk into the store. Costco positions an attendant outside by the pumps immediately helping people with problems. That is customer service. Too bad no COSTCO in Mattoon. However, Walmart always goes to the lowest common denominator in providing service and in keeping their cost down. They would never think of putting an attendant outside to take care of customers when they already knew that their pumps were not working. That is what they should do. Reward a different gasoline station with your business by buying your gas at a station with properly functioning pumps or at least pumps that are clearly marked that they are not working. read more

We went to the deli to get some food for my father who is 81 and should not be out in this heavy snow. The deli was not open which I can understand since the weather was bad. However, we were there at 11:30 Sunday morning, and they were trying to sell chicken that awarded 1:41...the date wasn't listed, but seriously this chicken was well past it's prime. A manager needs to keep a closer eye on this deli before food poisoning occurs! read more
