Villa Margherita was better than anything I could have dreamed up! We were wandering Capri and looking for a spot off the beaten path for lunch. Villa Margherita was truly the perfect escape! The outdoor patio has panoramic views of capi, the sea, and the gorgeous land the villa sits on. I actually saw the chef clipping herbs from the garden to use for the day. So special! One of my favorite items we tried was the the tempura fried prawns. So light and airy with the perfect crunch! I had the ahi tuna for my meal (one of the few meals I had that wasn't pizza or pasta in all of Italy) and it was so delicious and fresh! Everything about Villa Margherita was truly magical, and I can't recommend it enough to those exploring Capri.

Such a beautiful outdoor seating area, our group of 5 was seated at a beautiful table with a gorgeous view of sunset for dinner. Service was impeccable. Food is pricey but the plating is beautiful, and every dish we ordered tasted 10/10. Wine selection is great. Totally worth it and would come here again. I imagine the views earlier in the day of the sea below would be even more perfect. PSA: bring mosquito repellent for dinner!

    Beef pasta

As an American foodie, we usually trust Yelp over other sites but some of these reviews do surprise me. We were seated for lunch and asked our waiter for pasta recommendations - he suggested the zucchini (courgette) and beef pastas - these were the #1 and #2 pastas that we had on the island. Not to mention the homemade bread was excellent. Other restaurants that we tried which did not have the same level of flavor and textures include La Zagara, Giorgio al Cucciolo, and Ziqu. The pasta at Villa Margherita (that we tried - just 2 items to be fair) was superior to the others. Ziqu is more formal and was excellent in other ways, but the others were a let down. It sounds from others reviews like the owner is defensive of his restaurant, which maybe he could improve on, but in our experience he was friendly and had an adorable golden retriever that we stopped to pet and chat over. Our personal experience was 5* and would recommend the pasta here over all others that we tried on Capri - see photos.

Villa Margherita was recommended by our hotel and so happy we went. Upscale spot with delicious food - highly recommend their tuna! Presentation was beautiful and staff was nice. Be sure to have a reservation for dinner in the high season. The ambiance was nice with lights and outdoor breeze. One of our favorite meals while on Capri! If they have the coconut ice cream dessert - order it!!!

Looks can be deceiving! The service was as expected and well delivered. The "Linguini Squash" dish had way too much salt and was mildly warm. We also tried their tuna tartare and it contained too much salt and no good sauces. They also provided us with a complimentary dough ball with ricotta cheese which was as hard as a rock. Overall, the food was very underwhelming and overpriced and I won't be returning or recommending this restaurant. Please be advised that there is a €6 fee per person and they charge €5 for water.

Delicious food and breathtaking views. What more can you ask for? This is a Michelin level dining experience. Massive wine list. Pietro is a wonderful host. Definitely a must-dine when on the island.

This outdoor panoramic restaurant is one that feels like only the truly experienced come, like the Italian visitors who want to get away from the crowd in the Piazetta. It feels private, has gorgeous views and stellar cuisine. This is a place for special occasions and romantic dinners. It's just wonderful. Our hotel was right next door and we looked down with curiosity at this tinkling restaurant below with intimate lit tables and just wanted to try it out. We went over without a reservation and they managed to fit us in! We had one of the best meals in Capri here, everything was made with care, was special and delicious. You'll dine in open evening air beneath their courtyard olive trees and be treated to classics of Capri with a special flair. This is for those who want a quieter special occasion, truly beautiful and special.

Very picturesque location with a serene view of Capri. Definitely a more expensive restaurant but the bread was above par and the dishes (linguine and fettuccine) were great. Service was also very attentive. It seems that most of the restaurants up at the top of Capri are on the expensive side.

Came here for dinner after being recommended by our hotel. We ordered the caprese salad since we had to try the island specialty and it was outstanding. The flavor of the tomatoes was fresh and vibrant. The mozzarella also complimented the dish perfectly. Very good dish. The main dishes did not do the same for us. The lemon spaghetti with shrimp was not my cup of tea. It had a fishy taste to it and was not very good. The sea bass was ok but still did not live up to other sea bass dishes we have had. The wine was good as has been the case in italy.

Okay, if you ever are in Capri, you have to come here. We have been traveling in Italy for 15 days now, and this restaurant, I can say with confidence, is simply the best we had so far on the entire trip. First of all, the service is just great and friendly. Francisco & rose are great host, funny with class ! Now the food: all of them come with good portion, if you are in a group, ask them to recommend and share as family style ! We have vegetable appetizers, fresh but not dry which turns on our appetite ! We also have the fried calamari. It's amazing. Then the fish of day. Fresh fish with good quality ! They know how to handle it ! With simple cherry tomato juice - perfect combo ! Dessert is another highlight - try the pineapple carpaccio even if you have no room left :)))) you won't regret it ! Highly recommended !

We only spent the day in Capri, so we wanted to go to a restaurant that would be worth it! This place is quite a walk from the port but we were able to get a good tour of the piazza on the way. The restaurant is located right next to a very nice hotel and at first walked past it because it looked like a private restaurant for the hotel down some stairs. It was about 1:00 pm and the restaurant seemed completely empty which was a little alarming at first. We sat outside on the balcony area which has an amazing view! You can actually see the Faraglioni from our seats! We were greeted by our very nice and courteous waiter who spoke English very well. We ordered a glass of wine and entrees. We got the caprese ravioli and the lobster linguini, which were both absolutely delicious and perfect portions. You can tell they use fresh ingredients. They actually have their own nicely sized garden in the back (which out waiter let us roam and take a look at). Overall, delicious fresh food, good wine, amazing view, and beautiful restaurant. Worth it! (It is a little pricey)

    Beef tartare! To die for!

We even saw him take a bite of the communal Parmesan cheese with the spoon from the dish (and the mother returned it to the bowl) which prompted us to not use the Parmesan. The pizzas were hot and fresh, we ordered the Davola and salsiccia e friarielii. Both were delicious but in the end, we love a tomato based pizza the best and should not have wavered. A glass of house wine was surprisingly reasonable at just 5 euro and was a standardly nice, juicy, easy to drink red. The bread was incredibly delicious. The smokiness from the wood oven made it possibly the most delicious bread I can remember eating. No butter. No olive oil. Just delicious. We would have loved to have tried a few of the pasta dishes that looked delicious, so our recommendation for a couple is to get a pizza and a pasta and share them. The salads also looked fresh and large. As many places in Italy, there a fee to sit at the restaurant and be served. 8 euro for both of us. The next day when waiting for our ferry ride, we popped into a pizzeria and grabbed another pizza diavola to go...what a let down. The pizza at buca di bacco was within a euro or two in price and 100% better. If you haven't had a good pizza in Italy and find yourself in Capri, at least grab one or two of their pizzas to go and eat them near the ocean overlook. Don't forget the chili flakes You will be quite content.

Nestled on the side of a cliff in Capri, is this lovely place. It took our group of 8 on quite the trek down the side of said cliff in the hot Capri sun. Well it was worth the hike because the view was spectacular and the food was phenomenal. We basically ordered the entire menu but the standouts for me were the scallops, the fresh raw oysters and the seafood risotto. Of course the seafood tastes like they got it right out of the ocean. The service was also beyond amazing. Whatever we asked for, it was there with minutes and the table was quickly cleared of empty dishes and my wine was replenished a satisfying amount of times. I'm sad we couldn't experience the beach club but the view helped with the FOMO...btw the hike back up the cliff was intense. I'm grateful I'm in somewhat decent shape. An alternative to the uphill hike is a water taxi from the restaurant which requires advanced booking.
