In for dinner tonite and I have celiac issues. They offer an ample gluten free menu. Our server Chris was extremely attentive and professional and tuned in to the accuracy of my gluten free order. So appreciated!! The bolognese is delicious and the meatballs so tender as reported by my dinner guest. Greek salad with house dressing fresh and tangy. My penne pasta dish half Bolognese and half Alfredo I'm on timeout for that for exceeding my 35 things so if you wanna take all the receipts except scan the one you have to leave him and then take all the other ones home. I want to preface by saying I've been to Villa Macri many times and the dining experience has always been good. I had a reservation for my large family placed 6 weeks before Mothers Day. Upon arrival, we waited a bit and were told the table wasn't available but would we want 2 large booths across from each other. Because we were all there, and kids were hungry, we gave in. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When seated, it was clear that 2 booths weren't large enough. One side crammed 4 people, etc.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Flagging our server, I requested another booth because this was unacceptable. This resulted in yet another booth, but our party was so spread apart that it was impossible to interact.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This was very disappointing, especially when the reservation was placed so far in advance, and confirmed, and we were paying $39.95 a person with a FIXED gratuity of 20%. (This was a BRUNCH, with no table service except for drinks). What could be done differently? On a busy holiday such as Mothers Day you need to have fixed seating times and adhere to them. I was told the party at our reserved table was finished, but NOT MOVING. Again, not acceptable. If a restaurant requires a credit card to hold the reservation, which this one did, we should expect what we requested. Our dining experience was tarnished because of this, and restaurant management should be prepared to deal with these kinds of incidents. read more

Had a very nice early Christmas dinner with my family. The greeters were outstanding smiling faces and friendly. The holiday drink menu was very good the whiskey lift was exceptional. The spinach salad came the same way, cold spinach thrown on a plate with a tiny cup of dressing. Dressing was cold. Both salads were in the $18 range. Asked the waitress for some hot dressing. She never came back. After I saw her chumming it up with her buddies after 15 minutes, I went and got the bartender to go find her. She finally brought me another tiny cup of barely warm dressing. When I went to pay, she took my card and again, never came back. I again had to get the bartender to go find her to bring my card back. go there, you be the judge. Sad. read more

It has been several years since we have eaten at Villa. We moved from the area and it isn't on our radar. My husband had lunch portion of Chicken Parmesan with a side of spaghetti marinara. We recently came here for wine tasting & dinner- such a great experience. I have been here before for both & never had poor service. In the tasting room, Jason is always there to serve up delicious wine tastings. He is very passionate and knowledgeable about all the various wines. We did one of the tastings in the series of "wine olympics"- if you participate in enough tastings you get a free pass to their end of the summer party. The best part about the wine tasting is you can also order from the dinner menu. I had the most delicious strawberry avocado salad with salmon- great taste, salmon was not too dry or too greasy, and the sweet potatoes fries were so delicious I had to order another side of them. Villa Macri is such a pretty restaurant and the food is delicious! I ordered the chicken club and sweet potato fries, which were both wonderful. I also shared an order of breadsticks, which were so tasty and the cheese sauce was perfect. I'd highly recommend the breadsticks! Overall the restaurant feels fancy and the different rooms are unique, and the prices are great! A must do if in the Mishawaka/Granger area! read more

A great option in Granger that is 3 1/2 stars. We ate on a very busy Saturday night and were seated almost immediately for our reservation. Nice decor with many rooms, this restaurant is quite large. Service was very slow and it was difficult to find a server to place our drink order. Once it arrived, cocktails and drinks were good. Entrees were also quite slow to arrive. Food was good. We enjoyed the manicotti, lasagna, ravioli and seared tuna. Overall a convenient location, lots of parking, and good food. Not sure if the slow service was typical or just an extraordinarily busy Saturday evening. read more

After becoming ill after eating here the last few times I decided to forgo ANYTHING not served hot. No bread/oil. No salad. Ordered soup. It arrived barely room temperature. I'd say that's it. I won't go back again. If you can't even heat soup you've got no business in food service. read more

We got takeout from here and even though we couldn't eat it until an hour later, this was an amazing meal! The butternut squash ravioli is paired with a lemon, butter, basil sauce that perfectly compliments it. The vodka sauce is creamy and delicious and is everything that a vodka sauce should be. The cannolis are absolutely delicious- fresh, sweet and perfection! The only thing that would make this better would be to eat in the restaurant so we could enjoy these entrees warm and fresh! I am partial because I've been eating at Macri's for years and years. They were a little bar in a strip mall.... I adore the beer steins which are frosty and large! I have eaten the veggie pita for 20+ years, no joke. I love that sandwich and it has never changed. My husband likes the osso bucco and always gets it with the plan to have leftovers the next day. I had this a few weeks back when I was in Indiana attending NCAA Women's games at Notre Dame. I ordered it takeout. I ordered the fried mozzarella some wings and the seafood Alfredo. The mozzarella was good. The wings were BIG and I always prefer smaller wings, but these were pretty good and had a good flavor. The seafood Alfredo was good too. All in all it was a pretty good meal. My only real issue is they took a takeout order, but didn't give me any type of utensils to eat my order with. Villa Macri is a safe go-to for the SB area. With an extensive menu, every palette is sure to find something to please. On Tuesdays it is "wine night" and all wines under 60 dollars are 50 percent off. We liked the bruschetta, chicken Picatta, and eggplant rottini. All recommended. Service on the weekends is very slow, so I would recommend coming during the week where you will find no such problem and will get the best that this restaurant has to offer. read more

This place is the perfect setting for dinner, drinks, watching the game and more with the various rooms including the bar area, sports theater room and an elegant dining room. Spent a great Valentine's Day here one year, so I definitely recommend it for date night! Large food and wine selection, and the service is always friendly & efficient! Needed a little salt. They were able to make accommodations for my mom, who is gluten free, and the service was extremely attentive. I really liked having an extensive selection of gelato, and I recommend the pistachio, so good. There's nothing too groundbreaking on the menu, but if you are looking for standard Italian fare at reasonable prices and a good taste profile, this will do the job. read more

I love Villa Macri. We have been going there over the years and love it. No so much today. Today we had a waitress that we saw three times. One to take our order, second time I flagged her down for some balsamic vinegar and the third time for our check. I can take things going wrong in the kitchen, maybe understaffed ... stuff happens I know this. However, they were not busy by any means. The one thing I can't stand in any restaurant is an empty glass sitting there wanting more wine. Not once did she come by to check to see if we needed something. It saddens me as with restaurants reopening, I would imagine these waitresses need the money. Don't worry, I still tipped over 20 percent. If that happens again... there won't be much of a tip at all. Food was good... service was shot. read more

We visited for Mother's Day brunch and had reservations at 10am (the very first of the day) The restaurant is lovely, we sat in the round room just off the martini bar. The service was very good, attentive and friendly. The buffet though was a different story. For $30 per person I was expecting something special, instead what was offered was really comparable to a Big Boy. Despite being the first ones there the food looked over steamed and over cooked. Dry scrambled eggs, piles of soggy french toast and meh sad looking pasta. The prime rib was over cooked and they had no one ready to slice it, similarly we had to wait for them to bring out sausage and the desserts were lacking. Nothing on the buffet seemed prepared in house it all had a very mediocre feel about it. (think hotel free breakfast) No fresh salad, no fruits (outside of a fruit salad) no omelette station, no waffles, For a "upscale" restaurant and a $300 price tag it was a let down. We all agreed that we have had better selection and quality at Old Country Buffet. 4 stars for service and ambience 1 star for food quality and value = 2.5 stars read more

I was at Villa Macri to celebrate a milestone in my sister's life. I started off with a Bellini. Very lackluster. No peach purée at all. Next, we both had salads. The lemon vinaigrette on our salads was outstanding. We then had pasta. She had rigatoni with marinara and italian sausage. I had the linguine with Alfredo and seafood. My only complaint about my pasta dish was that the seafood was supposed to be langoustine lobster, scallops and shrimp. But my dish had a whole lot of shrimp and little else. Very disappointed. But the white chocolate raspberry torte improved the experience overall, just not enough to increase the star level. read more

Every year we go near Christmas time for a dad and daughters dinner and our party has never been disappointed by the food.
