Was in town for the holidays staying at the Varsity Club and drove by and the sign said best Pizza in the state. With a statement like that I just had to try out their pizza. They are spot on with their sign. Ordered over the phone for pickup, they said 20 minutes. When I arrived they were just taking it out of the oven. They cut it smaller pieces for our grandson's, gave us plates and napkins. Their service was excellent and they treated me like their best customer ever. We will be in town this summer and will be returning for more delicious pizza. read more

I'm so excited to write this review! I haven't lived in South Bend for thirty years but when I come home I always have my 'favorite' spots to eat at. My sister spent a great deal of time convincing me to get pizza from here. I'm so glad I did! We called in the order late Friday afternoon, super busy. 45 minute wait and when I got there I had to wait another 15 minutes. It was legit though because they were beyond busy with pickup orders. They were hustling though, answering calls, making pizzas, addressing customers. I actually saw a pizza being slathered with what looked like maybe garlic butter on the crust. Yum! The inside has a few tables but I mostly saw folks coming in to pickup orders. The bathroom is one room and very clean. There's an article on the wall about the owner and how he started. Turns out he started working at one of my favorite pizza spots at the age of 17 and worked his way towards owning his own. I can taste the pride in every bite. This pizza is DELICIOUS! Not a lot of places offer variations of sauces. We got a chicken, spinach and onion with an olive oil base, 'supreme' and cheese. I stayed at the Varsity Club and it was within walking distance. I think we are pretty lucky in the Michiana area. We have some damn fine pizza places. Mimmo's is hands down one my faves. I've been coming here for as long as it's been open. The pies are hand tossed. Great dough with a nice chew. The sauce here is fabulous. It's a sweetish sauce but not overly so. Great flavor. The toppings are all top notch. Always fresh. You can also get the stuffed pizza. More on that in a bit. You can get a great lunch here. Two slices of a wide variety to choose from and a fountain drink for $7. That's a pretty good deal and a good size lunch. The chicken bacon ranch is always one of my slices. Has to be the best CBR in the area! Now the stuffed pizza. You can easily feed a family of 4-6 with one of these! Base crust in a pan. Stuffed with what should be an illegal amount of cheese and whatever topping you want. Top crust. Sauced and then more cheese to finish it off. This thing is heavy! Never had a bad pie here. You can get salads. Calzones. Garlic knots. I will keep coming back. I suggest you give Mimmo's a try. Great pizza at a fair price. We tried this because we heard it was great and we were not disappointed. The topping offerings are good, sauce is flavorful, and crust is perfectly soft yet has a crunch. We also god breadsticks. I was surprised when it came with both marinara and nacho cheese sauce, but I have to say, the nacho cheese was a good addition. The large 2 topping pizza with breadsticks and delivery fees was $35 and lasted three meals for the two of it. We will definitely order from here again. read more

By suggestion of my brother-in-law, my husband and I went to Mimmo's pizza on December 11th. My brother-in-law swears by their cauliflower pizza and he got a 12" with cheese and the cauliflower crust. I got the pesto pizza which has parmesan, mozzarella, provolone, pesto sauce and a hint of garlic on thin crust. My husband got the thick crust with basically a whole farm on his pizza. Our total ended up being $50 for 3 pizzas which was pricey but my husband didn't think it was too bad for pizza that was raved about. I loved my pesto pizza, definitely the best pesto pizza I've ever had. Whenever I get anything with pesto sauce I think about Jimmy Pestos from Bob's Burgers. If Jimmy had this pizza, Bob would hate me because I'd be eating there while my husband ate a burger at Bobs place. Hats off to this fantastic pizza joint. I'll keep it in mind for all future South Bend adventures that require pizza. read more

Anyone who knows me knows I'm a very positive person. However....Last night my 82-year-old stepdad was treated very poorly at Mimmos Pizza. Our pizza was accidentally given to the wrong person (no Big Deal), but no one even bothered to tell us. We ordered the pizza almost two hours in advance. After waiting for an additional 15 minutes and me informing him that the pizza had been mistakenly given to the wrong people, he asked for a discount or breadstick or something to make it right. He didn't ask because he wanted something free, He asked because no one told him and pretended as if nothing happened. The person making the pizza pretty much ignored him. Then he retorted "You've only been here 5 minutes". The receipt said otherwise. Pretty easy to track with the time stamp. We walked in at 6:55. He asked to see a manager due to the lack of respect given. The person making the pizza said, "there is no manager here". After visiting their website, there is a nice pretty picture showing that there is not just a manager, but the person making the pizza is the owner/founder. IT IS NOT ABOUT FREE PIZZA, it's about taking responsibility and more importantly respecting people and respecting elders. Then the father of the founder sitting at a nearby table decided he needed to step in and get in my Stepdad's face. My step dad never once raised his voice and stayed polite until given a reason to tell the father to back off. The owner's father literally was picking a fight with an 82 year old man. Ultimately, we were given the wrong pizza as a consolation after the fact, which if that would have been how you would have led the conversation and just admit the mistake, he would have had no reason to be upset because mistakes happen. A good business owns up to it, apologizes or Gives out a coupon or something and moves on. By the time we got the pizza home. The correct pizza (We had 2) wasn't fresh. It had been sitting for 20 Minutes. And the crust was burned black. Based on the price, the expectation is a premium pizza, which we are totally willing to pay for. But the service, and quality last night was not premium. It was pathetic. Shameful. read more

We ordered a large pizza and they charged us for the cheese. Upon inquiring the manager told us the pizza price was a "base price" but the cheese is not Included. I have never seen cheese not be included in the price of the pizza, unless a person asks for "extra cheese" as a topping. In addition, the cashier did not inform us that were any specials, so we needed up paying $26 per large pizza plus $3.28 per cheese, and we got 4 pizzas total. Plus they charged us for the cheese in the calzone. Upon inquiring, the manager offered no refunds or coupons or nothing... so be aware, the price of the pizza at Mimmo's Mishawaka IN excludes the cheese. That's an extra cost or else you will apparently only get dough and sauce. read more

I had heard good things about Mimmo's Pizza but I had not tried them until last weekend. I was having a group over for a football game last Sunday that started at 2:30. Problem was my favorite thin crust pizza joint didn't open until 4 on Sunday. Hello Mimmo's that opened at noon! I ordered their largest pizza (think HUGE) with all our favorite toppings and my guests were in for a real treat. Homemade dough, their own signature sauce and topped with obviously very high quality ingredients. And it was baked to perfection and absolutely delicious! Not only that, they offered a Mimmo's Italian Style salad and they offered this beautiful salad in a party size. If you're into that style of salad I'd bet it's some of the best you've ever had. Honestly, I would have to say it's the best pizza in the state like the sign says. The 'Mimmos Favorite' has to be my favorite, even though the crust can come out darker/crunchy; it has to cook the great tasting Italian sausage that is one of a kind! There's so many options to be able to customize your pizza, so many different combos that bring amazing flavor complexes. The service was respectable and I could see they were extremely busy at times. So the wait times do vary, which is understandable. Great atmosphere and the owner, Blake, is super passionate about his business. They say you can tell how good a restaurant is by the way the bathroom looks, and it's true. I'm conflicted, because the pizza is really good, but the place seems to really struggle with keeping track of orders and giving realistic time frames for when they'll be ready. I ordered a pizza and a side of bread and they told me over the phone it would be 30 minutes and when I came in I had to wait another 30 minutes and they hadn't even started the bread until I asked how much longer it would be. The staff seemed to be really overwhelmed, while the owners/managers(not really sure) just watched them drown without offering a helping hand. I felt bad because it seemed like they were really struggling to keep up with the orders they were taking, so my one suggestion is to expect longer wait times than what they tell you. My in laws and I ordered this on our first night in town. We got the Mama's way pizza with no mushrooms and added pepperoni. My in laws got the CBR. We also got an order of garlic knots. First off I have no clue what size my in laws ordered but the pizza and box was huge. We ate off it for multiple meals for days (four adults and a toddler). The pizza had a nice crisp crust, the crust itself was not too thick and the amount of toppings was generous (on the Mama's way). I had a piece of the CBR and if you like cheese then you will like this pizza. I found with all the cheese and the ranch it was not to my personal preference. The garlic knots were more like pizza crust cut into strips and then put in a knot. There was a LOT of oil in the foil so they were pretty messy. They came with some sort of cheese and marinara sauce. I had one just to try it. They also forgot the garlic knots on the order which is why our order took so long. We also got a small salad that had bacon, cheese and chicken on it but I did not try that. I am super picky about my pizza and I thought this was one of the better spots I have had pizza at. One evening when they weren't busy I ordered a stuffed pizza, Blake the owner tried to discourage me from ordering it, giving me an extended waiting time. Over an hour wait & he wasn't busy because I picked it up myself. I ordered it before when they were busy, 40 minutes! So, I gave him the benefit of the doubt thinking he had a bad day. I tried to reorder the same order 5 weeks later, the girl taking orders told me I could only add 3 toppings after she put me on hold after taking my order. Specifically the chicken Alfredo pizza is great! Not typically available at other pizza places. We like the 16" thin crust. Thick and cheesy toppings. Never soggy, never burned. Have tried others, and they are fine, but the Alfredo receives my five stars! Have ordered at least a dozen times over several years, always takeout. So far, uniformly excellent results. read more

We went here with a group of 7 of us on a Saturday night at 6pm and clearly they were slammed with take out orders. The group of us wanted to eat there so we commandeered two tables. We placed our orders at 611-615pm and it took over 50 minutes to get our pizzas. It was like they didn't know what to do with people who were actually eating there. The first pizza came out and it had three toppings on one side and three other toppings on the other. The toppings were a lot on one side and hardly any on the other. It was playing where is Waldo but I was doing it with mushrooms. The pizza tasted great but the staff was overwhelmed and the other pizza didn't get to table for a long time. The pizza was very good and they offered thin, thick and original crust and they have a cauliflower crust too. For you Coke lovers they have Pepsi products here so keep yours groans to yourself. I picked up a 12" Mammas Way (gr pwpper onion olives mushrooms tomatoes and artichokes. It was very good. It wasnt waterlogged...which is quite a feat for the ingredients. I got the traditional crust...next time I would like to try their thin crust. Everyone was friendly..it was a very good value....10 and change for a 12 pizza with good quality ingredients and plenty of them. There were 17 pizzas ahead of mine on a random Tuesday lunch....plus they were selling slices so apparently other people know Mimmos. We moved to Mishawaka, IN in December of 2019. Because of the COVID-19 epidemic we have not had a lot of chances to eat out. The sign says it's the BEST PIZZA IN INDIANA! We decided to order for take out which they said would be 45 minutes, hour & 45 minutes for delivery because they don't start delivery till 5 pm. We called & asked about specials because the website was confusing. We finally decided on a thin crust meat lovers & when we got the pizza the crust was burnt & it had a strange smell & taste making it non-edible for me. $27.00 for a 14" pizza seems a little high to us for what we received.
