The food was yummy and inexpensive. Less than $140 for a group of 7. From the outside it didn't seem as appealing, but once you go in, it was cute and comfortable. The staff were friendly and the food came out in perfect timing. It was perfect for those who want Mexican entrees and a classic Cuban dish. The whole group left with happy tummies

Very impressed with this Mexican restaurant ! I just moved to Riverland and I was looking for a good Mexican restaurant in the area. There is not a lot of local restaurants but this one will be a staple. The restaurant is large and spacious very cute and well decorated and the food is great. I ordered the chicken and rice and my husband got chicken steak and shrimp fajitas it came with cheese, guacamole, salsa, sour cream, and a side of fajitas. They served us chips and salsa in the beginning and even have a great happy hour. We will definitely come back.

Everything you may expect from a family owned Mexican restaurant, traditional music and colorful decor. We came on a Monday at 8PM, place was quite empty with on 2 tables. We were promptly seated and served water and chips. Unfortunately the experience went downhill from here. It took 40 minutes for the food to arrive and while the food could have been fine, everything was over salted. It was the first and last time for us.

Service was great at Vilas! My Lechon was also very good and was a very large portion. The highlight of our visit was the guacamole. As a person who usually doesn't reach for guac, it was the best I've ever had! Definitely be sure to order it during your visit - you won't be disappointed!

Food & Service was wonderful! if you're looking for Authentic Cuban food, we landed upon this place while we were in Ft. Lauderdale. Yum :-)

Authentic Mexican Cuban restaurant with the best of both. Chips and salsa to start. I loved the Cuban sandwich. Bread was flaky like it should be. Flan was a bit cold and thick - would Have been better thawed a bit more but still loved it. Coffee was sweet, sweet, sweet! Service was very attentive and friendly.

Can someone please tell them mojitos are not supposed to be green with chunks of mint floating on top!

This is the worst Mexican restaurant I've ever been to. I knew we were doomed when we arrived...no one was in the restaurant and it was Cinco de Mayo! An empty Mexican restaurant on the most popular day of the year for Mexican food...we should've immediately left then. Let's start with the chips n salsa...chips were stale and salsa bland. We ordered enchiladas and steak tacos. The enchiladas were dry with barely any sauce. I had to ask for more red sauce to combat the dryness and they were still awful. I ordered a side salad instead of rice and beans and they gave me the salad with no dressing whatsoever. Didn't even ask if I wanted dressing. Ok guess I'll chew on dry lettuce then. We also ordered a few drinks including mojitos. The mojitos were not even made right. Whoever made them blended the mint into the drink resulting in the drink being green with tons of little pieces of mint floating on top. I'm no bartender but I know enough to know that mint in a mojito is supposed to be muddled, not blended and mojitos are not suppose to be green! Just awful. Only saving grace is our server was a nice guy. But even though he was nice, he barely checked on us and never refilled our water and again the place was empty. I can't even say prices were reasonable bc my dry enchiladas were $14. Avoid, avoid, avoid Vila's!

Service was not good very slow. Food did not have good flavor especially the chicken soup it was tasteless along with the chicken fingers. The only thing I enjoyed was the chips that came with the salsa and my coke. Food needs to have better flavor.

COLD PORK BURRITO
 $14.95
Rick V.

In on a Tuesday at 12 noon. Met a friend for lunch. Seated right away. I forgot they also had Mexican food. Brought chips, salsa and menus. Ordered: Pork Burrito $14.95. BAD - NO FLAVOR. Burnt on the outside and COLD inside. To make things worse, it came with sides of COLD green sauce, sour cream & chopped mixed veges. Sent it back. Never had a burrito with the sauce not poured on top and totally hot in and out. Service was good. No reason to go back for a second time.

Chicken fajita is not what you think if you're expecting a Mexican dish. They add a ton of soy sauce and it's basically Asian. Horrible concept when you expect actual Mexican chicken fajitas

Chilangos Mexican Grill definitely needs to be added to the list of phenomenal hole-in-the-wall…read morerestaurants!!! Even if you know the address, you may drive right past it. The restaurant is buried in a line of other businesses door-to-door from each other, and hidden behind shrubbery. Once you find it, you will know it. There are husband and bride skeletons on the floor in the window by the door. Once inside, we were greeted, and asked if our order was pickup. It was to go. The wonderful and very busy woman at the counter, offered the menu, but we already had one. She was busy not just taking orders, taking payments, and getting deliveries out the door, but mixing drinks, and taking care of tables! She was a one woman army! Outside looks small, and so does the inside. But the layout is done in such an effective way that it there is counter seating, and more than enough tables to host a small event. It is like a small living room that is still large enough to throw a decent party! The décor is authentically Mexican with Mexican pottery, glassware, imagery, decorations, etc. Regarding the food, it is as authentic as the décor. Chilangos Mexican Grill is not Taco Bell or Pollo Tropical! The food is made from the heart and soul not from a corporate cookbook. So if you are a fan of Mexican food, or want to try it, visit Chilangos Mexican Grill. You may have trouble finding it, but once you do, the trouble will be MORE THAN worth it!!!

This was my first time here, and I didn't really know what to expect- nor could I find pricing for…read morethe AYCE Taco Tuesday- so this is going to be long. I hope it helps other people! First of all, the all you can eat for Taco Tuesday is 18.99, or 19.99 if you want the seafood tacos (shrimp or fish), which is what I did. Food was about a 3 out of 5; not bad, I'd go again, but I would be unlikely to seek it out or crave it. There were tons of protein options (I took a picture for everyone!), the steak was dry and chewy and the barbacoa had too much fat in it for me. (Barbacoa is supposed to be on the fatty side, this might be a me problem, give it a go!) The chicken options were all good, but very liquid-heavy, so they broke up the tortillas really really quickly. The shrimp was my favorite, I think I had 6 of them. The way it works is, you order the all-you-can-eat and they start you with five. You go down a little line like a Subway and pick your proteins and then your toppings (onions, onions and cilantro, cheese, pineapple... there were more, but those are the ones I remember). Towards the end you tell them which sauce you want (mild, medium, hot) and they'll put them in little ramekins, plus limes. Then you pay at the end of it. I thought I'd get a receipt or something showing I did the AYCE option, but nothing. The staff is amazing, I'll expand on that in a few. When you pay that's when you tell the person you want to do the seafood option, and she explained to just let her know a few minutes before I was ready for them because they make them all per order. You can choose either corn or flour tortillas. Some reviews said the flour was really thick, and while they were thicker, it wasn't like a bao bun or anything. I probably should have done more of those because they held together better with the liquid from the proteins. When you're ready for your next batch, you just go up to the beginning and they'll make you 3 more at a time (you can choose less if you want though). They were extremely generous with the protein fillings, except for the shrimp. I assume that's because the shrimp is already portioned per taco, rather than the chicken and stuff that's in the containers ready to go. The staff is a solid, shining 10 out of 10. Somehow everyone was able to track which customer was which (I guess that's why I didn't need any physical receipt or anything), and had some kind of crazy hive-mind going where if you told something to one person (for example, the heads up on a shrimp taco order), they all knew (so 5 minutes later, a different person would look at you and go grab your shrimp). They were all so, so nice and so efficient. It was a very well-oiled machine. When I saw 5-6 teenage boys walk in, I laughed to myself that service was about to slow down because they would be eating so much, but that just... didn't happen. The employees are seriously on it. As far as the ambiance, it's really just a basic seating area. It's made to be functional and nothing more, nothing less. There's a soda dispenser, napkins, plastic utensils, and a place to empty your tray before you leave. I think the most annoying for me was not being able to find pricing and which proteins were included in the price, so I made sure to get pictures of that stuff. Like I said, the food was fine! Not the best, not the worst; would have been better if my tortillas weren't so wet they kept breaking apart too fast. But the employees really made all the difference.

I stopped in for lunch on a Saturday. We were the only customers. The staff was very welcoming. You…read moreorder at the counter and it's assembled in front of you. I had the 5 small tacos for $13. They let you choose 5 different meats. My favorite was the spicy pulled pork. I found a bay leaf in my taco so you know it's fresh! I prefer when they grill the tortillas so they have a little grease on them. These were put in a sandwich press to warm up. There is easy parking in the attached lot. Overall, it was okay, But there are many other better options in Broward.

We then noticed they used KLASS powder mix to make their "aguas frescas" so completely overpriced and not even homemade. Second I will touch on the tacos. We ordered birria tacos. They asked if I wanted corn or flour tortillas. This is when I knew I was doomed for bad tacos because tacos are NOT made with flour tortillas. ‍ once we got our tacos they were 3 very small tacos and they were not served with cilantro or onion.
