I have seen this storage facility through 3 owners and the service just gets worse as the prices go up. They took over a few months ago and this week raised my rate over 30% and almost 3 times their advertised rate for my unit. ($302 for a 10x10) This was the explanation: "For Storage Rentals of America as a whole, rate increases are pretty often, averaging about ever 4-6 months. There may be times you wont see one for 10 months or even a year, but those are on the rare side. As for the amounts, I couldn't really tell you. We, in office, have no control of how much the increase is or when they get sent out. The amount is basically a corporate algorithm based on competitors, going rates, and how long you've been in the unit. Honestly, I even see 100$ increases, especially on people who are already paying 300 to 400$, somewhat often." This is not good business. The algorithm referred to is designed to determine what a renter can get, not what they should be charging. It's a form of price fixing.

They are super cheap at $14. We rented the splitter originally for 1 day, but ended up keeping it longer then our agreed upon time. The weather this weekend was rainy. I was expecting to be charged for 2 days but was pleasantly surprised when I got my email statement charging me for only 1 day due to rain. Great customer service.

I had looked at several other storage facilities in the area when I was selling my house and moving into an apartment and needed to store some of my stuff. 10x Self Storage beat all of the rest that I looked at. The manager that I first met with was excellent and and explained the whole process to me who hadn't rented a unit previously. The facility is easily accessible and conveniently situated with lots of parking. It is climate controlled and the inside access is great as opposed to other facilities which only had access from the outdoors and were not climate controlled. The building is kept very clean which I appreciated.

Previously, I was at a competitor. I had a small 5x10 unit, outdoor access, not climate controlled, and part-time attendant. I went there because it was close, and they had a "first month free" offer. I never actually got that free month, and they raised my rates twice in a six month period by a large amount. At first, it was $85/month, then two months in it was raised to $133/mo; then I got a notice in November that it would be raised to $180/mo right before Christmas. I decided it was time to move out and find some place better. I got a unit at 10x Self Storage on Pullman Street. The unit was 10x10 (actually a little bigger), indoor, and climate controlled. At $175/mo, it was a tad cheaper than my previous unit with way more benefits. They offered 50% off for the first three months, and actually stuck by the offer (unlike the previous place that never gave me the promised free month). I used the 10x10 for a year, then downsized to a smaller 5x5 unit at $59/mo before moving out (I no longer needed extra storage). I really appreciate a company that doesn't bait-and-switch, and that doesn't get you into a unit only to jack your rates up. I found 10x to be an honest business, top quality, and a pleasure to do business with. I recommend them, and would also use their facilities again.

This U-Haul is a bit of a mess. The only saving grace was Brian, the lovely sole employee manning…read morethe place. The security alarm was going off due to something that happened at the storage side. Brian had to listen to that thing for eight hours, I had to listen to it for 45 minutes and it drove me crazy. It would have been great if they had more than one employee working on a weekend morning for pickup. It takes a good bit of time to check folks in, I was expecting pickup to take about 15 minutes and it ended up taking closer to an hour. Brian was trying his best, but things only move so quickly with a slow computer system and having to walk some people out to the lot. The van I received was pretty beat up. There was already so much damage on the outside that it was hard to mark anything as being in good shape. Brian made the rules for renting clear and the contract was easy to follow. Overall this location is in a convenient spot, but just plan to wait and bring your patience along for pickup.
