The facilities are fine. Secure, gated. Be aware though that they get you in with a low monthly price and then they raise you price every few months. Other than that was satisfied but had to move out when it got too expensive. read more

Absolute Scam! I rented a small unit online several months ago, for $72 per month. Yes, I read the very fine print and it does say that they can increase the rate, but after only a few months, they DOUBLED it to $144. Now, a few months later, I receive a notice saying it's going up again, this time to $209! So in less than a year, they have increased the rate about 200%! So beware. They will sign you up at a very low rate, and then once you move your stuff in and it's difficult to leave, they start giving you huge rate increases. Go somewhere else. read more

When originally signing up for the storage unit, I was paying $123 per month for a 5x10 unit. They've raised the rate several times, with no communications that the rate would be changing. It's now up to $146 per month and I am still receiving the same service. Online, their 5x10 unit is listed as $57!!! The gate is frequently left open, the keypad was inoperable for way too long, and the bathroom's frequently without toilet paper. I was promised 24 hour access when I signed up, which is the main reason I went to this location. Today I found out that is not the case. I have medical devices stored in the unit which will be needed without notice, at all hours. When I arrived at 5AM this morning to get my supplies for the day I found out the gate was locked, and wouldn't unlock for another hour. Why have lock-down times for a gate? 6AM to 10PM? Why? What is wrong with 24 hours? Why have 8 hours of lock-down? The office is open from 9:30AM to 6PM, what is the justification for shutting down the gate at all? Needing to be at the hospital by 6 I had to leave without my supplies. Not happy, I will be moving out as soon as possible. read more

It's a storage facility which should be basic but they did just enough to leave me unsatisfied. The person at the desk who filled out my paperwork was pleasant and helpful but he was the only one there and had to juggle multiple people. And the electronic paperwork was complicated and unclear and took WAY TOO LONG to go through. So it took at least 1/2 hour just to process the rental paperwork. Then I found an Extra Space "thank you" sticker on my lock after I had been there a couple of days. And it's one of those stickers that is going to take a lot of effort to take off. It's not like they kicked my puppy but I don't appreciate Extra Space gumming up MY stuff and USING me for free advertising..... I would only use Extra Space in the future after I've exhausted all other options.... read more

I was going to wait until I had finished moving my stuff out of my storage bay, but oh well. Extra Space has managed to repeatedly irk me already, and I only began dealing with them nine days ago! I reserved my bay and rate online, which seemed like a smart idea. Maybe it still is, but I would likely have never known if I had just shown up on Day 1 without a reservation. No one was in the office and I would've turned tail and left. In the 3 times I have been to the location, including when I first signed paperwork, there has never been someone on duty upon my arrival. This is in spite of the fact that I've been there during the business hours listed on the building. Once, there was a sign that the employee would return in half an hour. The second and third times? Who knows where anyone was; luckily, I had my key code to get to my bay and get the heck out. It seems awkward to me, perhaps even rude, how Extra Space requests customers exit the commercial office while the employee on duty brings a new customer to his or her bay. While the guy took me to my space, the two people behind me in line were asked to step outside and wait in the cold until he returned. Safety, perhaps, but couldn't they at least have an entry area between double doors? Odd. Then there's the drama of the dumpster. Extra Space has dumpsters, one for cardboard and the other for trash, but this location locks both religiously. I had a handful of bags to toss, but couldn't get a hold of the guy on duty to unlock the dumpsters. The next (and most recent) time I stopped by, I dragged the trash out of my bay and left it by the dumpster. There's a sign warning of additional fees for trash left outside the dumpster, so I called their central call center and basically requested a waiver. It's not like I wanted to leave the trash out! If you're going to have a dumpster, then use it. Either have it or don't. I just received a voice mail from the guy on duty there, warning me that I shouldn't have left my trash out and how the dumpsters are only for "site use" ... umm, your "site" is basically a roof with a lock. What waste does a bunch of concrete and steel generate? If the dumpsters aren't for customers, then stash them away somewhere in back, not in clear sight of all your customers. The voice mail also said that the central call center gave me false information. Nice, now neither side knows what the other is doing. Situations like this have really destroyed my confidence in corporate America. Should I ever need storage space again, I definitely will not be opting for Extra Space and instead will hopefully have a local alternative available. read more

If you're looking for safe, secure, clean, inexpensive storage.... this is NOT the place for you!!! I just got out of an 8 year storage merry-go-round with these people - thank GOD! Mice... tons and tons of mice... a few I ended up bringing to my home in boxes unbeknownst to me! Mice turds everywhere...nests, you name it. The gate is always broke and wide open.... and when it is closed, your gate code never works and a phone call ALWAYS has to be made. They raise the rates approximately every 6 months. By this month, I was paying $231 per month for a 10X10 unit! Ridiculous. This past Saturday, I went to finally get out of there. I cleaned the unit and spoke to the clerk. She didn't have me fill out or sign anything...just saying to leave the unit clean and unlocked. Well, this morning (Monday) I find out they're supposed to prorate the part of the month that you didn't occupy and had paid for. Where's my refund since Saturday was only the 9th of the month and the entire month of November was paid. When I tried to call - I was hung up on 5 times! Soooo... I filed a complaint with the better business bureau! I'll get my refund, make no mistake. Stay FAR, FAR away from this company - do yourself a favor. Too bad I had to give it one star because it doesn't even deserve that much! Business and customer service is the worst! Good Riddance Extra Space! read more

I have had no problems so far but I haven't paid my first month's rent. I thought the check in was fast and easy when I needed it to be. I was so tired from the move and just wanted to get this rental process done. I was met with a smile and an understanding desk clerk that was so efficient in the check in process that I was done before I knew it. The entire storage unit was clean inside and out. So I would recommend Self Storage in North Attleboro for the large units at a good monthly rental. Koodos for having a polite, knowledgeable sales clerk that I didn't have to show her how to do her job which is quite refreshing nowadays. read more

They have a HUGE sign in front of their office stating "FIRST MONTH FREE " with little letters on the bottom stating "see manager for details". When I inquired about the offer, the manager stated that the offer was only given when they had a surplus ( ? how many) of units available and it would not be given to me at this time. TAKE THE SIGN DOWN UNTIL A TIME COMES WHEN YOU CAN GIVE THE OFFER ! What a deceiving way to get customers in the door and a SLEEZY way to do business ! read more

Poor management that does not follow the same policies as their corporate office. The units are very dated and have stuff falling from the ceiling. Forget about accessing your stuff during the winter. The alleys are all ice and snow is piled up against the doors. read more
