I was in the mood for a Hot Pastrami, and we were perfectly situated at the M to get one. So, we exited our room in the new tower, completed a little slot play, and came here for lunch. Self-ordering is done in a line. But the food came out fast after being ordered. A bowl of Chicken Noodle Soup was hot and very good, chock-full of carrots, celery, wavy noodles and cubes of white meat chicken. Too bad no Matzo Balls are available. But the bowl of soup was a meal in itself. I liked my Hot Pastrami Sandwich on regular Rye Bread rather than Marbled Rye, with Yellow Mustard rather than Dijon Mustard, containing 6 oz. of Pastrami. The Potato Salad I selected for a side offered a lot in quantity for a small sum. It contained some egg, but was otherwise rather plain. Yet, overall it was pretty good. On the other hand, Diane hated her Fish & Chips that included obviously previously frozen filets of fish not at all to her liking. Only a few Pickle Chips came with my sandwich. There was not enough gravy to saturate the sticky white rice. The hamburger was a bit dry, and the fried egg was decent. This place is very fast-paced, with orders coming out quickly, which could compromise food quality. The staff is very friendly and courteous. The ambiance is fast-paced and loud. Meanwhile, I had told my BF to eat his Pastrami Sandwich which I had some of and it was fine, the meat wasn't anything great. I asked the cashier if I should order something else since I didn't know how much longer it would be. Christina (I think) a manager apologized for it taking so long and went to check on it. She made things right and I got my pizza shortly after. The pizza was fine, it had a good crust but seemed like there was too much cheese in it because you could barely pick it without everything falling off. There is plenty of seating, even when busy and they do a good job with clearing tables. They have the condiments and utensils area stocked well. We had Clam Chowder and Chili another visit. Vig deli is a staple here at the M. It's been here for many years offering good food and reasonable prices. I've been here many times throughout the years during staycations, dropping in for a bite after a long day at the M pool, or just to grab lunch while placing a bet. Service has always been good and the deli is always maintained and clean. Sometimes they will have a line, but it moves pretty quickly. Most recently i had the French dip and my experience wasn't the same. I felt the meat was rubbery, oily, and not so fresh. Also the prices weren't so reasonable this time around. The food was just ok, typical casino sportsbook food. There is plenty of seating and it is located right next to the casino, so the noise level is pretty high. The ordering process was hurried although the cashiers were only on cashier duty as the kitchen area was full of workers. I stood by the order pick up area waiting for my simple order as number after number was called. As I stood there I could see most of the food prep area as well as the full expediting station. There was a lone order of fries sitting for the entire time I stood there, about 8/10 minutes. From where I was standing I could see the person expediting the orders use a gloved hand to touch the side of the wire/metal fry container and the touch the top of the fries. During the minutes I stood there she had the same gloves on and touched many surfaces, including her clothes. When she called my number, she gave me those fries she touched as part of my order. She pushed the tray at me and I pushed it back and asked her for fresh fries as I saw her touch them. She immediately grabbed the fries and literally threw them in the trash, wire/metal and all. She threw it in the trash with anger and at that moment I thought what a poor way to handle this situation. A nice apology would have been better. This little hidden gem is found inside the M resort. I have never seen it until my boyfriend brought me here. He likes to order their pastrami sandwich on rye and their oxtail soup. I ordered a cup of clam chowder and a Cuban panini. They have everything from teriyaki bowls, to BLT's to burgers. Everything is good and there was quite a bit of people seated so it must be a good spot. We didn't wait too long for the food and everything was neatly presented. Workers here are always friendly and helpful. They do a great job of clearing tables quickly. Prices have gone up, but it's still a good deal for what you get. I like their sandwiches and ox tail soup, but lately over been getting their Asian Chicken Salad. It's a good mix of shredded cabbage, chicken, nuts, and fried wonton skins. Mix with their Asian salad dressing, it's delish! The M has other options for dining, but this is the place if you don't want a formal sit down restaurant where you order from a menu. We ordered sandwiches, burgers, fries, and sodas. Our bill was over $100! Usually, most casino food is either very good and overpriced or ok and a value. The food was just okay, and definitely not as good as I have had at other short-order stands in other casinos. I would not really call it a deli either, it had very few actual deli-type foods. It is a burger and pizza stand with a few other items. The staff was disengaged and poorly trained. Ask them a question about a menu item and we would get answers like I don't know, what does the menu board say as they shrugged. Ask for suggestions and they just shrugged again, one of the women behind the counter said "I' don't really eat here so I don't know what's good". We should have left right there if the staff doesn't like the food. And for that premium price, we had to seat ourselves, take our food to our table, get our own condiments, and fill our own drinks. First I've been going here for years. They raised all the prices recently and removed many favorite items. They got rid of the soda (understandable was a few for all), but now the iced tea is gone they also removed. They also have sides but if you don't buy them with an item you can't get it. Perhaps worst chicken nachos in Las Vegas. Dined 11/4/23, the chicken tasted canned. The imitation tasting artificial yellow colored liquid "cheese" was poured on everything. This goop was unappealing visually and it tasted terrible. Most of the tortilla chips were broken small pieces, thinking we got the bottom of the bag dump. We ate 1/2 and discarded the rest into the trash can. My veggie burger was OK. It was firm, not mushy, and had a good char. The French fries, while they were hot and plentiful, tasted awful. Either the oil was old, or the fries were double dunked or they were past shelf date or they were breaded in plastic juice. The taste wasn't enjoyable and they too ended up in the trash can. 2/5 dining experience, we won't return. Too many other restaurants in this resort to dine here again. I was waiting for my food and I saw the deli worker hand out food to the wrong customer, and after the customer opened the food and looked through it, the cook came out and said "that's not your food" and took it back. Then they put the food back on the shelf and gave it out to the correct customer. This is a health code violation and they should know better. The Montreal Beef poutine was good, meat was really tender. The roasted beet salad was plenty enough to split amongst the 4 of us, with our other food. Unfortunately, my experience at Vig Deli was not a pleasant one. I had an order to go and when my order was ready, it was on a tray. I informed the lady that it was supposed to be a take out order and she then gave me an "attitude". I felt as if I was being scolded when it was not my fault. She says to me that the next time I should notify the cashier as she will box my order to go this time, but the next time she will not. The M resort tries to portray its image as a 4 star resort. If that is the rating they want, they need to go up and beyond to try and give their guests the best experience they can. Boxing my "to-go" order was not a big deal and I didn't deserve the type of service I was given.
