First off, shout out to the cashier at Vietwich (elderly woman). Her demeanor is so welcoming and kind. She is definitely a gem! It was my first time at Vietwich and I had some dietary restrictions. She immediately started suggesting and accommodating my concerns. I got the tofu banh mi and the chicken banh mi. The chicken was standard and excellent. However, the tofu one. YALL. it's a must!!! The flavor is phenomenal. The quality was exceptional. I am dreaming of this banh mi currently!! I'm not even a huge tofu fan but this was an exception! We also got the veggie spring rolls which are classic Asian spring rolls. So delicious with the yummiest dipping sauce. Def a good appetizer to complement the sandwich. The ambiance is a sandwich shop vibe: few tables to sit and quick service. The place is super clean and there's plenty of parking! Am I gonna go back? Tried something different today with my banh mi and I must say I was very disappointed. My chicken noodle soup was ALL noodles. There was maybe a thighs worth of chicken in there an I think that's being generous. I know I waited as well but it couldn't have came with much broth because it was almost all gone when I sat down to eat about 40 min after ordering. I had about a quarter of the cup. I felt like my 5 year old eating plain buttered noodles. Banh mi was fire but I don't know that I would order the soup again. read more

Not a big fan of the AN HANOI BANH MI here. The meat patties have great flavor but the construction and balance of the sandwich was off. There was way too much pickled carrots and cabbage. Vietwich is no stranger to Yelp's Top 100 in Texas and even made it to the Top 100 in the US a few years back. My love for banh mi and those winning stats had me stopping by here for lunch. The restaurant is located in the Stafford/Sugarland area. It's easy to find and there is plenty of parking. I came on a random Saturday and it wasn't too busy. Customer service could have been better. It took awhile for anyone to acknowledge me. The staff seemed like young kids more interested in talking with each other and their friends in the store. They had loud music playing with lots of cussing which I'm ok with, but not in a family friendly banh mi shop. Once they were ready to take my order, they also didn't seem to know their menu too well. I didn't want to ask too many more questions so I just ordered what I read was some of their popular items. Banh mi is what they are known for so I went with the pork banh mi. I also got an order of the Mom's Egg Rolls as I read it was a popular item as well. I would have got a specialty drink but didn't want to bother the staff with too many questions about what's good or recommended. The food came out fairly quick. The sandwich was a decent size, on par with other banh mi spots. The bread was a nice baguette that was soft inside but nice and flaky on the outside. At first glance the sandwich looked solid with all the usual, fresh veggies on top. My complaint was that they skimped a little on the pork. The pork was seasoned well and very tasty, but the ratio was way off. It was like eating a veggie sandwich with a hint of pork. The sandwich has potential to be awesome though. The egg rolls were really good. Overall, my first impression here wasn't all that great. I'm pretty sure I came on an off day since they have got so much recognition as one of the best in town. Just tried this place today and I'm mad I didn't try it sooner!!! Everything we ordered was 10/10! Definitely order more of Mom's Egg Rolls, two is not enough! My Chicken Banh Mi needs to be a footlong because I can definitely eat more of that!! And the last thing I ordered was the Hibiscus Lychee Tea extra sweet... it was perfection! I don't say this lightly: the enoki tofu sandwich at Vietwich might be the best sandwich I've ever had in my life. I'm not exaggerating. It was one of those first-bite moments where you just stop and look at your food like... wait. What is this magic? The bread was perfect, soft on the inside with just the right amount of crisp on the outside. The sauce was incredible, flavorful without overpowering everything else. And somehow they made the carrots taste amazing. Carrots! I don't know what they're doing back there, but it works. I paired it with a Vietnamese coffee and that sealed the deal. Rich, bold, slightly sweet, exactly what you want. Instantly, this became one of my favorite restaurants in the Houston area. I was so excited about it that I brought my kids back that weekend, only to realize they weren't open. Total heartbreak. So definitely check the hours before you make the drive, especially if you're not close to Stafford. I think I might be in love with a restaurant. Highly recommend. Sorry I have to change my review , this place used to be very good I used to hope I would be in the area to stop by. But I came by today and ordered food and ate there. I tried their new An-Hanoi sandwich . It was not good imo. The bread just so stale and not how a banhmi sandwich should be . It was really cold . The bread felt like it was weeks old. The meat inside was tasty but overall the bread just ruined the sandwich. The egg rolls are still great here tho. But my mom and wife shared the beef bowl and said the beef had no flavor . None of us enjoyed. Just my daughter who had the mango smoothie which was nice. So other than the smoothie and the mama's egg rolls. They need to seriously make some changes. read more

oh my, order the an hanoi and you'll see why this spot was nominated top 100 sandwiches in texas! a bit far from the center of houston, but perfect for those who can stop by this little shop just a couple minutes from I-69. theres a small parking lot that's perfect for the store, but only a handful of seating indoors. I will say, though, that the two employees manning the fort were very efficient in cleaning and taking people's orders as they came in and out of the shop. with a small store, it's important to keep it clean and they were on top of that i ordered the newly added an hanoi bahn mi and my friend the tko. both were delicious, savory bites but we agreed the an hanoi took reign. we didn't get any of the drinks they serve but they looked tasty and we agreed on getting one the next time we stop by! if your local, stop by to grab a bite for lunch. otherwise, make the drive! totally worth it ‍ read more

The baguette was ethereal with a crisp crust crackled with every bite. Pork was plentiful, tender and rich with lemongrass grilled flavor. The veggies were fresh and pickled daikon and carrots added that characteristic banh mi flavor. Went with a coworker friend for lunch, and I got an Enoki Tofu sandwich with extra mayo. They charged extra for the mayo which the cashier did not advise. The sandwich was really good, so that was nice. I also got the mango strawberry smoothie, which was not a smoothie. It was more like mango juice with a variety of jelly on the bottom. The drink was decent, but I had wanted a smoothie instead. They should really correct this on the menu since it isnt an actual smoothie mix with strawberry. My coworker also did not like her drink, and she overheard another customer complaining about theirs. The restaurant is also clean. We were able to get a table to dine in there. Finally got around to trying this place! It's a very casual establishment: you order at the counter (or order ahead online), pick up your food, and you can either eat at one of the few tables they have, or take it to go. That being said, though, the place is very clean and has a nice atmosphere! The staff is friendly and the service is quick. I ordered the Vietwich Classic Pork. It was a really solid Banh Mi. It wasn't anything super unique, it didn't reinvent the wheel, but it did a great job at just being a classic sandwich. I also got the Mom's Egg Rolls, and those were also yummy. Wait...hear me out... This is a damn delicious sandwich. I got the grilled pork. BUT if I ask for extra butter and pate, and you say you don't have that... Only mayo sauce... That is not the banh mi I know. This is a new generation banh mi with a way smaller bread yet super delicious filling. Personally, I would hit up Don Cafe for old skool craving which is literally down the street from here or Bellaire location if you prefer. First, I got my coffee and it was exactly what I expected. . . Sweet, strong coffee, delicious. I then got my sandwich and here is where it went wrong. The moment I opened my sandwich and grabbed half, I felt the bun/ bread and it was HARD. I ate the middle 2/3 and then the croutons hard bread became to hard to eat. I tried to bite the second half of my sandwich and it was just as bad as the other half. There was also no table to eat at because children were taking up every table ( not eating yet?) and it's a small place. Will not bee back for the banh mi it was not eatable. I really liked the local neighborhood-y vibes this place has, and you don't have to deal with the busy traffic of Bellaire Chinatown area. They were both really friendly, and gave us a quick rundown of their banh mi options, as well as their different drink options. We came some what near closing time, but luckily the only thing they had run out of for the day was the "dac viet" banh mi ingredients. We decided to try their vietwich classic beef, vietwich classic pork, and enoki tofu banh mi's, as well as a Vietnamese coffee to wash it all down. Adding a fried egg and crispy shallots is a game changer, definitely opt in for these flavorful add-ons, trust me! The unique option, enoki tofu, was for sure the crowd favorite. I haven't seen this type of banh mi anywhere, but it was SO GOOD! The Vietnamese coffee was just the "cherry on top" for this quick, tasty, and affordable lunch. Took a couple minutes to place order as everyone who worked their was busy preparing food then waited about another ten minutes for the food. After draining our wallets at Costco, we needed a recovery meal. This place is conveniently located a few minutes away from Costco business center. There is a walk up counter where you order. They have about 5-6 sandwich options and some boba drinks. The girls working behind the counter were super nice. My wife got the enoki tofu, and I got the Vietwich classic beef. Both our banh mi's were very delicious, although I think the enoki tofu had too much sauce for my liking - overall pretty solid sandwiches. One thing I wish was an option in the menu is sandwich + drink combos for a cheaper price for the people eating out on a budget. Vietwich has very solid banh mi considering you're getting it right at the Stafford-Sugar Land border. It has all the classic ingredients you expect, but there's also a tofu/mushroom one for those of the herbivorous persuasion. Also, they have a pretty decent chicken noodle soup, it's quite homemade and fresh, just wish it didn't come in a plastic container. Why I might not go to Vietwich as often as the Chinatown legends is definitely the price, $7-8 is quite a bit to swallow, and they're just a tad shorter as well. I recently started a new job in Stafford so I've been looking at all the restaurants nearby as lunch options! Vietwich came up during my search and I decided to order some take out via UberEats! I ordered the Vietwich Classic, which is the traditional Banh mi dac biet! The bread came super fresh, slightly crispy on the outside, not crisp where it hurts your teeth biting into it, and super soft and fresh on the inside! It was filled with a good amount of meat and picked veggies.. I don't think it taste like the traditional Banh mi I'm used to, maybe it's missing that pate, but I thought the Banh mi was a bit lighter in flavor. I enjoyed the quality and how fresh all the ingredients were, but I think it was missing something.. Overall, I enjoyed my meal and would come back to try the ones they're known for! I now see why this place is top in Texas. My wife and I came on a whim and it was great. The sandwiches are amazing full of flavor in every bite. The boba are just as amazing. The service is top notch as the owner is right on the front lines with his other works making drinks and welcoming customers as they walk in through the front door. The softness of the inside of baguette with the crunchiness of it is a great mix. The service was great, the food was great and the boba drinks were good as well. The Dac Viet only needed a runnier egg to complete this sandwich as it was over-hard instead of over easy. I got the Vietwich Classic Pork. There's a huge sign outside the door, celebrating their place on Yelp's Text Top 100 list and the years they received a "People Love Us On Yelp" sticker. Inside, their rotating digital menu has multiple graphics on rotation that display other Yelp accolades. I think that is such a good idea, because who wouldn't want to try a place that so many people love? It definitely worked on me! I have had it bookmarked for a long time.
