I ate at this restaurant about a year and a half ago when they first opened and it was good. I left a review , and that was very positive. I went back yesterday because I was in the neighborhood and got a curb side pick up. It was a quarter leg and thigh piece of fried chicken with rice and veggies. I was blown away by the flavors. Excellent. So delicious. More importantly, I didn't eat it until I got all the way back home in North Kitsap. The chicken was still hot and crispy. I had no problem ordering my phone. Request. Ing the curbside, pick up was easy and met with an enthusiastic.Absolutely.We can do that for you attitude. I'm going to go get that dish again just to make sure it was that good. And now that they have a more extensive menu, since the first time I went. I'll try some other things as well. It's just good to see that they are doing okay and are still in business. Stopped by for a quick dinner here this week on the recommendation from friends. I don't typically frequent Vietnamese restaurants because in the past, I haven't been able to find anything I really want to eat. My husband loves Pho, though, so I agreed to come. The place is a really cute little restaurant with booths and tables, relaxing holiday music playing, and a cute maneki neko (big white and black porcelain cat) with paw waving at customers on their counter. Friends recommended that I try the Crispy Chicken Fried Rice so that's what I ordered. My husband got the Tai Nam (Steak & Brisket) Pho. I wasn't sure what to expect but what I received was a very aesthetic looking plate of crispy chicken, a big scoop of fried rice under a sunny side up egg with the most perfect golden edges (!), along side fresh cut cucumbers and other veggies, with a small bowl of sauce. We were also provided a side of hot bean curd to use if we wanted extra spice. The chicken was a little crispier and tougher than I was expecting but I still enjoyed it. I never order eggs sunny side up as I'm not usually a big fan of runny yolk but I decided to eat it as intended -- and it was really good! The fried rice was super flavorful and had a nice chew. The veggies were very fresh. All in all, I cleaned my plate! My husband liked his, too. He's very picky about pho and always orders the same kind at every Vietnamese restaurant so he can easily compare. According to him, steak was pretty good, but the brisket was excellent! It was my first time trying Viet's Taste and there was no one at the restaurant at the time we came in for lunch on a Thursday. Restaurant is very clean with cute decor. This is the newest pho spot in silverdale.. and it's great! Interior is clean and modern-ish decor. Staff is so nice that it's refreshing. Good service is hard to come by these days, my cousin and I were terribly hungry cause we're dumb and didn't eat much this day, so we shared the Vietnamese pancake which was yummy! Granted we probably ate it the wrong way.. noobs!.. I got the combo pho. She got steak and brisket.. great portion size and the broth is rich and flavorful.. I asked for Special fried rice, stir fried egg noodles with chicken, and crispy chicken fried rice to go. I had been looking at an older menu on Yelp, and didn't realize that the special fried rice description had changed. The older menu said it had chicken and seafood. I asked what kind of seafood it had and was told shrimp, scallops, and squid, so now I'm not sure if the old description or the new description is right. It was very good, whatever it was. The menu could actually use quite a bit of clarification. The crispy chicken fried rice sounded like it would have pieces of chicken in it, but it was a fried leg quarter served with rice. It was very good, but should be called crispy fried chicken with rice. The noodles had the vegetables listed on the menu, but didn't mention green peppers. I got the shaken beef with garlic noodles (delicious little melt in your mouth beef pieces.) I've looked at Viet Taste many times while getting gas at Safeway and the smells yesterday convinced me it was finally time to try it. The place feels way roomier than it did back when it was Mandarin. The server was very accommodating when I asked for a bubble tea be split into 2 cups for my kiddos to share. They ordered the stir fried rice noodles with chicken and I ordered the chicken phó. The only hiccup was when I asked for sambal and got chili oil instead, but I won't complain (except I didn't realize chili oil is way more potent than sambal and put too much!, But that's my fault). The kids really loved their noodles and my phó had a broth that had a depth of flavor that can only be achieved by cooking with bones and all for a long period of time. While T&N will always be my favorite, Viet Taste comes a close second, especially when I don't want to drive all the way to Poulsbo. read more

This was our first time back to the former Mandarin Chinese restaurant now under new management and renamed Viet's Taste. Here is our observations: 1. We called in a pick up order and we're told it would be ready in 15 minutes. Like clockwork our meal was bagged up and ready to go when I walked in the door 17 minutes after hanging up the phone. 2. The renovations to the dining area are fantastic! So clean and well layer out. Even though I was there to pick up it was enough to make me notice the massive improvements the owners have made. Well done! 3. Price: We ordered the N1-stir fried noodles with pork, A6-crab cream cheese (aka Rangoon), P1- steak pho, and a bubble tea. With tax and 18% gratuity we were out of pocket $56. The food was very taste and the serving size was very good. We have leftover for sure.
