However there was plenty of meat and the broth was very tasty and savory. The fresh side vegetables however, were not very fresh and the beans sprouts were slightly wilted. Oh my goodness!! What a refreshing stop!! Couldn't decide on what/where do picked the new place by Fred Meyers! Eyes were surprised when we walked in as the whole restaurant had been made anew! Clean, fresh furniture, new flooring, new wall/section dividers, and greeted with a smile and a hello as soon as we came in. Menu is not complex, easy to choose from. We chose our meal, water cane quickly, and food cane out of kitchen amazingly fast!! Hubbs chose the pancake while I picked teriyaki chicken. Both were hot, smelled delicious and were very good!! Wife and I came here for the first time, as we don't live far away. Had a couple of Sapporo beers and split a halved fresh Shrimp Spring Roll ($5.75) to start. It was just O.K. and wouldn't order it again. Had too many rice noodles and not enough veggies or cilantro...pretty bland. The accompanying peanut sauce wasn't all that great either...kind of thin. My own homemade is better. We both had pho. My wife had the medium sized Tofu Pho ($15.95) with fried tofu, broccoli, carrots, and cabbage. Looked great and she said it was delicious. I had the large Meatball Pho ($16.95), with lots of meatballs cut into thirds or halves and basically nothing else...no veggies. It was a huge bowl! It'll be medium next time for me too, but it won't be meatball. I didn't care for the Asian style meatballs (nothing like Italian or American). They're much more dense and kind of rubbery. Flavor was fine, but I didn't like the texture at all. It came with the customary side plate of bean sprouts, basil, cilantro, jalapeno slices and lime. In the future it'll be the Tofu or Chicken Pho for me, though I'm a little curious about the mixed seafood pho too. We'll return to try the Phad Tai, fried rice, or stir fry dishes. At least now I know what I didn't care for. It's an attractive restaurant inside and the staff members are all very friendly and welcoming. You can even watch video of street foods being cooked in Viet Nam while you're eating and listening to traditional music! read more

I like this restaurant! It's really nice inside. Clean and I liked the decor. Very luxe! Service was quick, server was nice. When we got there it wasn't too busy, but started picking up for dinner. About of to go and deliveries. Anywho, I ordered the bahn xeo (Vietnamese pancake) and my bf got the bo kho (beef stew). Both good! I enjoyed the Vietnamese pancake, it had a lot of chicken, and a decent amount of shrimp in it. I love to eat is as a wrap and dipped it in the fish sauce. I tried the beef stew broth and it was good! We make it at home and like homemade better but the beef and carrots were tender and the broth was good, so good choice when you don't want to cook a whole pot and clean up afterwards! Wow what a hidden gem.. connected to Fred Meyers building. This restaurant is huge with plenty of booths and tables. Clean too with cute decor. I ordered my usual vermicelli bowl and it came at a good size. I just took a star off due to service.. we just felt rushed and they could be more friendly. Hear me out, condiments shouldn't cost more than an appetizer. I ordered 3 menu items. I asked for extra hoisin sauce. She asked how many so I said ten packets. (These are small like McD's ketchup). Then she says "I have to charge you extra". I'm thinking fine, probably $0.50. Nope $8.19!!! So even if I get one free packet with each menu item, that's $1.17 a packet! A PACKET!?! For Hoisin sauce! I asked "can I just squeeze some on my meal from a bottle on the table instead"? "No, we don't allow that." But you allow it for the customers who sit down to eat??? Beef stock for the pho is well made without massive amount of MSG. Pork chop is cooked just right. Enormous portions. A gem indeed.

My wife and I decided to give it a try tonight, I must say we were both impressed. She got the chicken pho and I got the steak and brisket, both were very good. We also got an order of veg spring rolls and those were done very well too. As pho broth is regarded, we have our go to place in silverdale (Viets taste), our go to place in Olympia (DaNang) where before trying "Hello pho" when we wanted pho we would go to one of these two locations; I am happy to say (no pun intended) that Happy pho is now on our list of go to pho locations. Got food at hello pho and the teriyaki chicken was over cooked and way to chewy and also dry.

The restaurant is roomy and clean and the service is good. However, we never want to go back to this restaurant. My husband had grilled chicken chow mein, but he couldn't finish it because of all tough undercooked vegetables. I had grilled chicken with rice and one additional sunny side up egg. We were in the area visiting family. We opted to go to this restaurant in lieu of the one across the street as it accommodated more of our party. The boba teas were excellent. The food... Meh, it was ok. It wasn't the tastiest pho, but it wasn't bad. Would I come back? Only to hang out with a large party. I'll probably get something other than the pho. My husband had the bahn mi and he said it was ok. But the service was quick--albeit rushed, so I get what the other reviewer was saying. The atmosphere was nice and it was definitely a very tidy shop. Was it worth the $$$? The portions are sizable, but flavor is lacking for what I am used to. Ok, I understand, but today I arrived at 8:25, which is 35 minutes before they closed, and they informed me that they weren't accepting dine in 30 minutes before close and I said we had 35min but they still said no. The ambiance on the surface appears awesome! Yet, upon closer examination you start to see the quality just is not the best! That theme followed the food. The appearance looked awesome and when I started to eat I was not mad or upset I just felt like the food was muted and not as fresh as typical Vietnamese food.
