I don't realize I was getting something different and much bigger. Instead of paying $9.50 +tax it was $16.00+. The service was good, they were nice, the food was fresh, and it was good. We decided to try this chungs because I love the one in poulsbo, we were extremely disappointed from walking in there was menus on the outside and inside and none of them were the same menu. I went based off the menu I saw online ordered their bahn mi (not on any menus in building) and two shrimp spring rolls, once again none of the menus were the same so my partner found something he wanted outside but could not find it anywhere inside and the staff at the counter was not very helpful and he ended up settling for chicken teriyaki that ended up being very dry and unflavorful very disappointed in all the food and the service will not be back to this location read more

Unreliable hours of operation. 3 times in the last 2 months I've gone to Chung's on Wednesday around 4pm for an early dinner and 3 times I've been greeted with a sign that says "sorry, closed early". Y'all don't want to stay open for dinner, fine. But don't advertise on Google that you stay open until 8pm. Pay attention to the hours, they are open at different times than other locations. This is an express, mostly to go or call in orders. NOT OPEN ON THE WEEKEND. There is a little bakery in there full of Aloha, support them as well, support local businesses. Other than this, same great food and service you can expect at the rest of the locations. read more

I went in expecting what I've experienced at the Chung's in Silverdale. Instead, I walked into an empty restaurant, a guy who clearly didn't work there behind the counter talking to employees and staring at me, and ultimately subpar food. I'm surprised Chung's is willing to put their name on this restaurant. Every time I've been to Chung's in Silverdale, their meat and chicken is plentiful and delicious. The grilled flavor one of a kind. The Chung's near the Bremerton ferry does not even marinate the meat and it's tasteless and dry. They give you mostly cabbage and the meat you do get is less than bite sized. Anyone who's been to the Silverdale location will know that is not the norm for this restaurant. Considering the elevation is prices as of late, I will say that $14 and change for this meal was absolute robbery. Disappointed and will not return. read more

The Food: The worst Vermicelli Bowl I've ever had. The sauce was bland, noodles left room for imagination - meaning there were nearly any and the egg roll felt like I was bitting into a dense egg sponge. There are no sauces available without request and the Hong Kong tasted like a dirty grill pan. The chicken & beef teriyaki was good and was served with a side of Hong Kong noodles. The portions on this dish were surprising considering the lack of content in the vermicelli. The Service: As there is no table service what service we did experience was good. I swung by on my way to the ferry on the way home from work. It was definitely express! I ordered the Bahn Mi, which was on wonderful crunchy french bread just like they are intended to be as it is a french influenced sandwich. I also had to try the egg rolls, which satisfied my hunger. The prices are all whole dollar amounts including taxes. I think this will be a new favorite of many Shipyard workers. I look forward to seeing how the employees and business handle the crowds once the weather gets a little nicer. read more

This was overall a pretty decent meal. My wife and I got a Vermicelli bowl and a banh mi sandwich. The bowl was pretty bomb and it was good enough to make us want to go back. The dark spot of the meal was the Banh Mi Sandwich. Typical banh mi sandwiches have a light, crispy, flaky bread that has a good crunch as you bite through it. This one did not. It was dense and required water to get it down. Most things between the bread tasted fresh and delicious as you'd suspect, but it tastes as if they forgot to apply any sort of pate or perhaps used none at all. Overall decently priced and fairly quick. Banh mi sandwiches can be delicious and an even quicker and easier grab when on the go. But You shouldn't be reaching for their banh mi sandwich until it's perfected. read more

I came here for lunch with my husband and kids. There wasn't much for seating so I had to wait and scope out a table for my family. The food I ordered was pretty good. I'd give the food more of a 4. My biggest complaint is the prices. I can get a bahnmi sandwich for $5 in most places but it was a big sandwich that I got so it's worth it. I don't understand why my sandwich wasn't cut in half but everyone else's were so it would have been nice that I got mine cut in half too. The prices for the eggrolls and spring rolls were way too much considering you only get one roll. I would have bought spring rolls because I love them if it had came with more than just one. I went here yesterday and had the fried Egg roll things with a clear sauce. Tasted like the frozen kind you get in frozen food section grocery store. Yuck. Very plain tasting. No basil, sprouts, jalapeño, or cilantro. Basic peanut sauce. Finally I had the Bahn Mi sandwich. Now this had the julienned veggies and jalapeño and a spread sauce that livened it up with flavor. Very tasty. I hear the other 2 Chungs in Poulsbo and Silverdale are Great. This one just opened and still needs to redeem itself from a poor opening and reviews from the locals who work in this area. I hear Happy Teriyaki down the street is better. I went here again today to try the Pho soup to go. March 24th 2018. Cold out today so good soup weather. But not to be gotten here. They put the noodles In the Pho broth. So by the time I opened my soup 30 minutes from purchase. The noodles absorbed all the Broth. These should be in separate containers for To Go orders. Still disappointed in this place. I've eaten here probably 10 times or so because of its convenient location and my taste for Asian and "asian-inspired" cuisine. Merely OK food and somewhat high prices, it's the location that brings me back. At least 3 of the times I've visited, I've found human hair in my food. I'm not the kind of person that freaks out over such things. I realize there are people preparing my meal and accidents happen, but on the third incident as I pulled the long dark red hair drenched in fish sauce out from around my piece of tofu, I thought enough is enough, never again. Years ago when I was living in Port Angeles I found out I could use transit systems to go down to Silverdale. After having fun spending time with mom when she would meet me at the mall I would make my way back home having a fairly long layover in Poulsbo before making my connections to go back home. One day when the transfer center moved from what was then called Christ Memorial Church to the transfer center up the hill from Poulsbo Village I was getting hungry and had enough time to go down the hill to get something to eat. What caught my attention was what looked like some high school kids standing outside a hole in the wall restaurant. It was called Chung's Teriyaki. Ever since that day I have been a fan of his food and that teriyaki sauce. Since then he has opened another Chung's Teriyaki in Silverdale. So when I found out that he was going to open the one here in Bremerton I was thrilled to know that I would be able to eat more often closer to home. Every person I have introduced to Chung's has become fan of his food and I dare say that I have a friend who said she wasn't fond of teriyaki places until I took her to Chung's and she loved it! So if you want good food for a good price you can't go wrong with Chung's Express. read more
