A+++ for Vietnom's catering! I was organizing a corporate event and my coworkers raved about the bowls at Vietnom. It's healthy, light, and the catering process was seamless. Show stopper was the eggrolls! We catered for 40 people for the spicy beef, lemongrass chicken, tofu as proteins on the vermicelli and rice bowls (bun thit nuong). The owner, Viet, was affable and flexible, answering all inquiries. He even came to our event early to help set-up, bringing placards for each tray. He was very meticulous in the order of the trays, cleaning up the table, especially since he really didn't have to. He even went back and forth between the venue to get extra serving tongs, going above and beyond! This was the best catering service I've ever had. It was ~$20/person and very budget friendly! There was many toppings of cilantro, lettuce, cucumber, pickled radish, and their sauces of nuoc mam (fish sauce), vegan soy sauce, and scallion oil. Food was very fresh. There was more than enough food, we even had leftovers at the end. I would recommend this small business to anyone looking for corporate catering. I'm definitely going to come back!
The banh mi was pretty tasty, but it was very light on toppings and heavy on the mayo. It was pretty small but my total for one banh mi was $18.50 after tax/tip. That's a lot to ask. If you're in the mood for a good banh mi in San Jose, it gets the job done, but not likely to be a common purchase.
Glad this location is still open as the valley fair mall location closed. Too bad because it was my go-to healthy place to eat at the mall. I usually GrubHub it now since there isn't much parking downtown. You can get half vermicelli noodles and half salad bowl. The lemongrass chicken is really good and I like the mint and daikon added. Very healthy salad with chicken. Overall a great place to eat at when you want something quick and healthy.
Located in SoFa Market which is right by the San Jose Convention Center, this area makes a great spot for big events held in the convention center. If vietnamese food is calling your name, Vietnoms is a great place. I ordered the rice bowl with chicken. Portions are a good size and come with a good balance of protein, grains and veggies. Tap to pay is accepted. There's a small line but moves quite quickly. Service is great. Overall Vietnoms is a good place for a quick bite.
This was my first time here and I loved it! My wife and I both had bun (rice noodles) bowls - one chicken and one rice. We also both chose pork&shrimp egg rolls as sides. Really happy with the choices. The flavors are just right for us. Not too spicey - you can ask for it to be dialed up if you like. Ordering is done off of a very well executed touch screen kiosk. I really like the house sauce. Just enough kick. The other ingredients are tasty and fresh. No clumpy stale noodles here! The Eggroll was exceptional to me. Crisp and tasty and flaky. Do not let these go soggy in takeout - eat them immediately on receipt. So, no frills, but great food at a reasonable price. This is a walk up food counter in SoFA Market in 1st in SJ. It's practically next to the California Theatre and a bunch of other stuff in downtown. Lots of other food and drink in the court. So, ambience is noisy and street-like even though it's indoors. But I sorta suspected that coming in. In any case, long winded way to say I'm not grading them on ambience.
Vietnoms is located in the SoFA Market. This place is similar to VN Grill or basically, it's a BYOB (Build Your Own Bowl) or Chipotle model but with Vietnamese cuisine. Choose your base (rice, Vermicelli noodles, salad, or a mix), protein, sauce, and toppings.
Vietnoms is always a solid choice if you're craving viet food. Can't go wrong with the rice or vermicelli bowl. It's nice the vermicelli bowl comes with an egg roll, which you can add to the rice bowl. I always add on a fried egg too. My favorite is the lemongrass pork, but I heard the chicken is also good. You order either on the kiosk or you can order directly with the workers. If you have larger group I recommend ordering directly. The restaurant is located in the SOFA market with a few other restaurants in the same building. I work in downtown and this is one of the few good restaurants walking distance. It's a great place to eat with coworkers since there's a lot of seating inside and outside the market.
I was visiting the area and wanted Asian food! I quickly found vietnoms with high reviews and recommended this spot to the others in my party. Super fun they are located in a food hall! Everything smelled amazing. I opted for the vermicelli bowl with lemongrass chicken on top. They add an egg roll and it is sooo good. My meal was really tasty. They have an option of hot sauces to add on top, which really compliments the flavor. The bowl is HUGE! I couldn't finish my meal. So tasty though. The staff working were really friendly and our food came out quickly!

Food was surprisingly yummy! Ordered a salad with shrimp. I loved how fresh it tasted! The shrimp was freshly grilled with peanut. It was the combination of everything with the subtle vinaigrette sauce, that gave the life of this dish. These people know how to make food right. Located in a food court next to California Theater. Thanks guys for making our date night memorable.
Really solid Vietnamese spot here at SoFa Market in DTSJ. They are a semi build-your-own casual spot with some great options if you're on the go. Order and payment is handled completely using their kiosk. You are able to select the base of your meal: banh mi, rice bowl, or vermicelli bowl (the most popular item on the menu). I ordered a Tofu Vermicelli Bowl ($16) with soy sauce as their only vegan friendly dressing. Everything was made fresh including construction of the veggies, boiling of the rice noodles, and the tender crispy pieces of tofu. The bowl also included a vegan egg roll and together, it was hearty and filling, hitting all the spots.
I absolutely love this place. The menu is so simple but with such great selections of meat, choices or vegetarian plus all of the options you have to add onto your dish and to top it off any type of sauce that you add to it just enhances the flavor by 10 times, it's a great place to stop in the mall and the service is always really friendly and helpful if you have questions about the menu. And I think the ambience just really makes you feel completely welcomed. It's relaxing and beautiful for a nice bite to eat. I love stopping here whenever we go to the mall. I highly recommend any of the bowl choices. The lemon grass option is super good.
If you ever in San Jose you can find this jewel down the street from the civic Center it's located inside the SOFA Market. I didn't get a chance to take a picture of the menu but they have a huge variety of Vietnamese food, we tried a couple items & they were all very tasty! We placed our order with Lauren she was very nice & patient with us they were 5 of us and we all took turns to order, and paid separately we had a banh mi, rice plates , vermicelli, & Thai teas! They have 2 long tables with 6 chairs each right in front of the restaurant but you can find more seating inside the SOFA. There's also public bathrooms. Parking was a bit challenging because although there's street parking is limited , we paid 35 at a private parking across from the civic, however they might have more accessible parking I just don't know where? This place was apparently featured on diners, drive INS and dives. I ordered the big classic (Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio). The lemongrass pork and shrimp were pretty good. The pork egg roll was also good. The noodles were a little mushy and the veggies were ok and not as fresh as I would've thought it would taste. The staff was very nice and friendly and this place is one of the many restaurants vendor spaces at SoFa market, so you can grab a dessert or drink or otherwise. The Bun Thit Nuong was amazing. The flavor took me back to the first time I tasted it in Central Vietnam. The egg roll, pork, veggies, and fish sauce blended together so well that I inhaled it. If you are in the downtown area and not sure what to eat, check out this authentic Vietnamese restaurant. In addition to bun, there are rice platters and vegetarian options too. This is a perfect spot to try Vietnamese food if you haven't experienced it before. Highly recommend! This place is legit. Really tasty and healthy food. Two words that don't usually go together. The chicken bowl was very good and disappeared fast. The staff seemed a little surly at first but opened up when we talked to them. read more
Needed to pick up some food to go and decided to scope out the Vietnoms menu at the food hall. Ended up ordering the Rice Bowl with lemon grass chicken and Shrimp Egg Roll ($20). The food was decent with enough flavors that worked well together. I liked the shredded pork texture and initially, the variety of veggies on the side. However, some of the lettuce was really wilted and discolored. I was picking it out as I was eating and it got pretty annoying half way through. Also, with the cost of $2 for a shrimp egg roll, the one single roll was smaller than my pinky. It was dry and honestly didn't taste like anything memorable. Charging $20 for a tiny bowl of food with mediocre quality ingredients is not worth it in my eyes. Pretty disappointed since I heard this place was good, so maybe I was there in a slow and off day. read more
Went here for lunch while I was in town to watch FLOW over at the civic center. The food here was very delicious. I had the Bun bowl with a few add-ons and a drink. This place is a little pricey so just a heads up. I got the bowl and 2 drinks for a little over $40. Each canned drink was $3 which seems a little high for a 12oz can. They nickel and dime you for each add on and make you pay for there sauces. read more

I went to try out this place before commencement and to be honest, I was not too happy with the outcome. The location is inside a giant plaza where other vendors for food were nearby. The other food chains looked better and smelled better, but the lines were too long and I didn't want to waste too much time there as it was night and it gets scary. Homeless wander around and no police are nearby. The inside is basic and the food was pretty decent although the food was very liquidy. I ordered the fofu with mirin sauce over vermicelli noodles with garnishing of green onion. The taste was similar to auntie anne phad thau from the grocery store and it smelled like chicken flavored ramen noodles at Walmart. I don't know why but at least the food tasted better and was not too salty. I enjoyed the inside atmosphere and security was inside which made me feel a little but more safer than usual. After eating the tofu and vermicelli liquid soup was left over with mirin and sesame oil. I didn't like that and for 16$ I could have gotten 2 banh mi sandwhiches that tasted better. Overall decent, but was worse than I expected especially with maruchan noodle smell. read more
Take out order: 9/10 Vermicelli Bowl with Red Beef and Eggroll $17 - vermicelli noodles were made well! Not over cooked at all. The veggies were fresh and the beef was really good in flavor but a bit dry. Eggroll was large and had crispy flaky thin crust and generous filling. Solid banh mi stall, though the prices are kind of up there. It's not so bad though, especially within walking distance from the San Jose Convention Center. My favorite is by far the lemon grass chicken bahn mi. The bread is crisp and warm, with that perfect warm baguette crunch to it. The chicken is plentiful, not like a lot of other banh mi places that skimp on meat. Quick, easy, convenient! *chefs kiss* Will come back here, especially if I'm in the area for other conventions and cosplay events. read more

Vietnoms is located in the SoFA Market food court. I ordered the lemongrass chicken salad bowl and I rate it 5/5 stars. The chicken was cooked juicy and marinated with a well-balanced sauce (not too salty or soy saucy) the nuoc mam was also mixed right. It was during Fanime and my crew and I wanted to get some new food around the place. It was Memorial Day and this place was accepting online orders. When I was about to pick up my order, there was literally no one working at their area.. yet they were still accepting orders online. There was also another guy that looks like he was waiting to pick up his order as well. I tried to contact the business, but they never got back to me, so I ended up having to file a claim with my bank. Really wanted to try this place but due to the circumstances, wasn't able to and wasn't able to be helped. read more

Hands down one of my boyfriend and I's favorite place to eat for a comfort meal. This place always hits the spot, the food is delicious and made to order. All the veggies are always really crisp and fresh too. The price is great for the amount of food you get! We always have a good experience with the workers here too, friendly and quick to make our orders and the owner is very kind! We're sad the mall location closed down but the downtown location is about the same distance from us, we hope this place never closes! Definitely recommend for those who are craving a clean, fresh Vietnamese meal in San Jose at a good price! read more

Anybody know how to get the special sauce out of clothes? I've steamed it and sun dried it for five days but the smell is still there, strong as ever.
