Bun thit heo with cha gio! Pork vermicelli with egg roll.
    Duong T.

The Bun Thit Nuong was amazing. The flavor took me back to the first time I tasted it in Central Vietnam. The egg roll, pork, veggies, and fish sauce blended together so well that I inhaled it. If you are in the downtown area and not sure what to eat, check out this authentic Vietnamese restaurant. In addition to bun, there are rice platters and vegetarian options too. This is a perfect spot to try Vietnamese food if you haven't experienced it before. Highly recommend! The eating area is clean, the service is fast, and it's conveniently located within walking distance of the San Jose Convention Center.

A+++ for Vietnom's catering! I was organizing a corporate event and my coworkers raved about the bowls at Vietnom. It's healthy, light, and the catering process was seamless. Show stopper was the eggrolls! We catered for 40 people for the spicy beef, lemongrass chicken, tofu as proteins on the vermicelli and rice bowls (bun thit nuong). The owner, Viet, was affable and flexible, answering all inquiries. He even came to our event early to help set-up, bringing placards for each tray. He was very meticulous in the order of the trays, cleaning up the table, especially since he really didn't have to. He even went back and forth between the venue to get extra serving tongs, going above and beyond! This was the best catering service I've ever had. It was ~$20/person and very budget friendly! There was many toppings of cilantro, lettuce, cucumber, pickled radish, and their sauces of nuoc mam (fish sauce), vegan soy sauce, and scallion oil. Food was very fresh. There was more than enough food, we even had leftovers at the end. I would recommend this small business to anyone looking for corporate catering. I'm definitely going to come back!

    Banh Mi
    Jimmy N.

The banh mi was pretty tasty, but it was very light on toppings and heavy on the mayo. It was pretty small but my total for one banh mi was $18.50 after tax/tip. That's a lot to ask. If you're in the mood for a good banh mi in San Jose, it gets the job done, but not likely to be a common purchase.

Glad this location is still open as the valley fair mall location closed. Too bad because it was my go-to healthy place to eat at the mall. I usually GrubHub it now since there isn't much parking downtown. You can get half vermicelli noodles and half salad bowl. The lemongrass chicken is really good and I like the mint and daikon added. Very healthy salad with chicken. Overall a great place to eat at when you want something quick and healthy.

Located in SoFa Market which is right by the San Jose Convention Center, this area makes a great spot for big events held in the convention center. If vietnamese food is calling your name, Vietnoms is a great place. I ordered the rice bowl with chicken. Portions are a good size and come with a good balance of protein, grains and veggies. Tap to pay is accepted. There's a small line but moves quite quickly. Service is great. Overall Vietnoms is a good place for a quick bite.

This was my first time here and I loved it! My wife and I both had bun (rice noodles) bowls - one chicken and one rice. We also both chose pork&shrimp egg rolls as sides. Really happy with the choices. The flavors are just right for us. Not too spicey - you can ask for it to be dialed up if you like. Ordering is done off of a very well executed touch screen kiosk. I really like the house sauce. Just enough kick. The other ingredients are tasty and fresh. No clumpy stale noodles here! The Eggroll was exceptional to me. Crisp and tasty and flaky. Do not let these go soggy in takeout - eat them immediately on receipt. So, no frills, but great food at a reasonable price. This is a walk up food counter in SoFA Market in 1st in SJ. It's practically next to the California Theatre and a bunch of other stuff in downtown. Lots of other food and drink in the court. So, ambience is noisy and street-like even though it's indoors. But I sorta suspected that coming in. In any case, long winded way to say I'm not grading them on ambience.

Vietnoms is located in the SoFA Market. This place is similar to VN Grill or basically, it's a BYOB (Build Your Own Bowl) or Chipotle model but with Vietnamese cuisine. Choose your base (rice, Vermicelli noodles, salad, or a mix), protein, sauce, and toppings.

Rice bowl with Lemongrass Pork and a fried egg

Vietnoms is always a solid choice if you're craving viet food. Can't go wrong with the rice or vermicelli bowl. It's nice the vermicelli bowl comes with an egg roll, which you can add to the rice bowl. I always add on a fried egg too. My favorite is the lemongrass pork, but I heard the chicken is also good. You order either on the kiosk or you can order directly with the workers. If you have larger group I recommend ordering directly. The restaurant is located in the SOFA market with a few other restaurants in the same building. I work in downtown and this is one of the few good restaurants walking distance. It's a great place to eat with coworkers since there's a lot of seating inside and outside the market.

I was visiting the area and wanted Asian food! I quickly found vietnoms with high reviews and recommended this spot to the others in my party. Super fun they are located in a food hall! Everything smelled amazing. I opted for the vermicelli bowl with lemongrass chicken on top. They add an egg roll and it is sooo good. My meal was really tasty. They have an option of hot sauces to add on top, which really compliments the flavor. The bowl is HUGE! I couldn't finish my meal. So tasty though. The staff working were really friendly and our food came out quickly!

    Lemongrass Pork Bun Bowl

Located next to California Theatre, Vietnoms is located in the SoFA Market where there are other eateries. Ordering is via kiosk. With the main menu items: Rice Bowl, Salad Bowl, Bun (rice noodle) Bowl, and Banh Mi (sandwich), ordering is straight forward. For me and my dining companion, we ordered a Lemongrass Pork Bun Bowl and a Lemongrass Chicken Bun Bowl. Both were full of flavor. Included in the bowl are veggies and egg roll--a complete meal. Next to the menu there is a video for "first timers". One of the pro tips is to add an egg for $1.50. As a person who enjoys Vietnamese food, I recommend this place. Because the eatery is located in an all cement building, there's lots of noise, especially if you are sitting next to a person who talks loudly. Seating is communal so it's hard to avoid.

Food was surprisingly yummy! Ordered a salad with shrimp. I loved how fresh it tasted! The shrimp was freshly grilled with peanut. It was the combination of everything with the subtle vinaigrette sauce, that gave the life of this dish. These people know how to make food right. Located in a food court next to California Theater. Thanks guys for making our date night memorable.

    Do you have vegeterian pho?

I think they do as it's all customizable

Anybody know how to get the special sauce out of clothes? I've steamed it and sun dried it for five days but the smell is still there, strong as ever.

We’ve spilled house sauce on our clothes before. It washes out just fine in the washing machine!

Anyone know what menu items are vegan?

Vegetarians and vegans have been raving about our tofu, which is stir-fried in a vegan-friendly sauce. You can have your tofu in a sandwich (usually comes with our house-made mayonnaise, but you can request it plain), in a salad, vermicelli, or rice…

If you order it dry, it comes with a side of soup. My issue with Hu Tieu Nam Vang at other restaurants is that sometimes it's too dry and there's not enough sauce. Not a problem at Leung Noodle! They have a perfect amount of sauce that coat all the noodles really well. Tons of meat too - I'm not even able to finish it! They have sides that you can use like pickled garlic and chili spice. Would recommend getting a side of Chinese donuts too. It pairs really well with the noodles!

We arrived around 12:30pm, and were seated immediately at the corner of the communal table. Service was bare minimal but efficient. We ordered via a QR code, and helped ourselves to the water already at the table. There's a self-serve sauce bar near the entrance as well. The restaurant wasn't too big inside and there was a short line outside while we're there. The line went away pretty quickly, though. Food came out within 10 minutes after placing our order. I had their Signature Free Range Chicken Big-bus Miishien Soup for the "crossing the bridge noodles" experience. The broth was piping hot and very flavorful. I put all the fixings and noodles into the broth except the cashew nuts and the chicken, which I put in right before I was about to eat them. The chicken was very lean and tender. I even ate the skin as there's no fat attached to it. I also loved the texture of the noodles. The mushroom was great, just too little of it. I wish they had used corn ribs or another vegetable as the corn kernels were very hard to fish from the broth. While it was a delicious and satisfying bowl of noodles, the "Big-bus" version was a bit overpriced. Our daughter liked her Small Pot Spicy Ground Pork Miishien Soup (Less Spicy), especially how the mini Chinese donuts soaked up the broth. I had a bit of her broth and ground pork, and it was yummy with just a bit of numbing spininess. We both liked their pickles from the sauce bar and at the table. My husband enjoyed his Small Pot Spicy Ground Pork Miishien Soup with free extra miishien as well. After selecting Checkout on Chowbus, payment was done via a staff who came by. I signed up for their rewards program when I ordered, and got 10% off. I would love to come back and try their spicy beef noodles. I noticed a promo sign outside the restaurant for some of their noodle dishes (@$12.99) from Monday to Thursday, during specific hours.
