We've gone here several times and generally like it every time. Today just really hit the spot. We were on the great glass Easter egg hunt of Newton and stopped for lunch. The café is positioned in an old historical building. It makes great use of the space. We like the seating arrangement and found a booth style seating we really enjoyed. The music isn't too loud but lends to the mood. There's a kind young man who's been there the last several times. He's so respectful and attentive to the customers. Their menu is newer looking than the last time we were in and it looks really good. I always enjoy their pad Thai or their drunken noodles. Wifey got a taro milk tea today and it was the best ever. We also had lettuce wraps with chicken for an appetizer. It tasted so bright and so fresh! She's also kind of addicted to the yellow curry soup and you can see why. It's so good and comforting. This is a great surprise in a small Iowa town. I had shrimp puffs that were great with wonderful flavor. They could have been cooked a few minutes longer as the shrimp wasn't hot. The Vietnamese noodles were good. I liked the texture of the egg noodle and haven't had that in any other Thai food. I didn't think this dish had as much flavor but it was still good. Spicy level 4 gave me tears for the entire meal and that is not a complaint. I will be back to try other dishes. read more

What a great little gem in an under served area. I was in town for a week for work without a car and was totally saved by this place. Service is quick, friendly, and food flies out of the kitchen. There's an outdoor seating area in the back. The restaurant was clean and pleasant but low on general ambiance. Honestly, it doesn't need it. The food speaks for itself. Dishes are authentic and delicious. The yellow curry is more of a soup with just the right amount of heat. I also really enjoyed the stir fried noodles. My friends quickly became addicted to the crab rangoons, while I opted for the spring rolls. Both very tasty. The pho and pad Thai also got high marks. Portions are large and reheated well. Last call for dine in is 7:30/7:45 as they close at 8. Closed on Sundays. No liquor license but they have boba drinks and Thai tea and Vietnamese coffee. Ming, owner?, and Don, the chef, did a GREAT job and the cuisine was amazing!!! The Spring Rolls were out of this world. I got the chicken with rice meal. One in my party ordered Pad Thai. My eleven-year-old daughter ordered Beef Pho. Another in my party ordered a salad plate that he will order again. Great value. Wow. That was great! We moved from a city with a vibrant Vietnamese/Thai/Laos community and thought we were out of luck in this region for a great Vietnamese food experience. But we were wrong and found another new favorite! The Beef Larb salad was tasty and fresh. The Angry Fever pork and shrimp stir fry at 5/5 spicy was and . We also had the Pad Thai and Banh Mi sandwiches. All were fantastic. The staff and chef were really friendly and accommodating--for example, not using any sugar in the Larb salad. We got our 1st taste of our town's new cuisine. We are excited to have them here and wish them continued success. We tried them on their 2nd day of their soft opening. Please be patient with them while they work out their process. We loved the flavors they brought and will definitely be returning to try the other menu items. We felt it was a bit on the pricier side and do understand the cost of fresh ingredients. The inside is spacious, all though, due to Covid, we got ours to go. The food is decent, but the last 3 times we've ordered carry out they have forgotten something we've ordered. Not a special request, just a normal menu item. First time was pot stickers, then crab rangoons, then a soup. So make sure if you order to go you check it carefully. read more

One of the healthier options in Newton. Food is decent. Restaurant is clean. However, if you plan on eating here, show up an hour before posted closing time. We arrived at 7:30 and the restaurant was about at 1/4 capacity with customers. We were told, "sorry, we close at 8:00. We can't seat you." Seriously, if you plan on being out of the restaurant at a certain time, adjust the posted hours to make it happen, don't pretend you're open for business when you plan on cleaning. read more

Best potstickers and Rangoon that I've ever had. Especially for a small town kind of place, I would recommend it 100%. Staff was very friendly, food was served in a quick and efficient manner, really nice venue. Comfortable and casual and won't break the bank. Sushi rolls were delicious and very well done with lots of good stuff, not just a rice wrap with a spec of filling. Angry Fever stir fry was amazing as well, portion sizes are generous! I had heard good things about this place, kinda of hard to find thru Google but they are a brick building will outdoor seating in front. Lots of parking available. The potstickers were great as well as the cab Rangoon . We chose the hot pot for 2 and OMG IT WAS AWESOME plus we had leftovers for the next day. The staff was so nice, it was clean and neat. As Newton IA doesn't have any really good restaurants, I had this would be a stand out place but it's not. I eaten here 4 times now and I hate to say it but the Chinese food at the Hyvee grocery store is better. My wife is Filipina and has been to Thailand and Vietnam multiple times and she won't allow us to eat here again. This is not a true taste of either Vietnam nor Thailand. The 2 stars I gave it is because the staff is friendly and the restaurant is clean. read more

Great spot to get a good bowl of pho. I also love their crab rangoons! I love how quiet the environment is in the building and how open it is. Conversation won't overlap or be heard if having a date night. They are quick to get you your food and are super nice people. We've ordered delivery through doordash and everything comes in good containers and fresh and hot. read more

We tried this place last year & said we would not go back.... But we did. The waiter was friendly but we did have to wait a bit to get our bill. The spring rolls are very fresh. I ordered a side of veggies and asked for them to cook it in their stir fry sauce. I ended up getting steamed veggies with salt and pepper on the side. Not good pho. Their brisket was overcooked and they didn't even offer meatballs or (apparently) rare beef. They need to cook REAL pho, and stop pretending, otherwise they need to charge 7.00 for one bowl. Definitely NOT going back. read more
