Why do I eat here? Another work selection. Each time I come here, I eat less on the buffet. So, positive for my waistline. For an Americanized Chinese food staple of a small-ish town like Newton, this place tends to be a frequent stop for me. The service has never been shoddy and they do a pretty good job of keeping the buffet items fresh and restocked. From the front, the place looks like it will be a small cramped little restaurant, but walk in the door and it's actually rather large with 3 or 4 buffets ranging from the basic salad station and dessert station, to the all you can eat meat and veggie stations. I will only eat here for lunch, and that's even a rare occasion. The prices are way too high. The food is just ok. If you don't like chicken, don't eat here because that's literally all they serve. Really wish they had better food and better selection, I'd give them business more. Until then, I will gladly drive to Des Moines and pay the same price for a buffet with A LOT more variety. Also, give up on your fish tank, how many fish have you killed in the last 4 years? Coming in and seeing a algae filled fish tank and floating fish makes my stomach turn. Gross! read more

They also offer many options for beef, pork, chicken, and seafood. Their crab rangoons are also excellent. They also offer a fairly diverse desert table with a few ice cream toppings to excite the kids and make for a fun and memorable family meal. The wait staff is friendly and very attentive. My family and I came to this restaurant one evening about 8:30 and we ordered 6 buffets while I personally ordered an order of lomein and broccoli with brown sauce. The server brought me a plate of white rice and later my lomein with the broccoli and brown sauce mixed in, language barrier perhaps ok I completely understand and everyone makes mistakes but to insist that I share my lomein with the other 6 people at the table because it was late and there was only enough dried out crusty lomein on the buffet for 2 people at most well that doesn't even rate 1 star. We've been going here for a year since moving to the area. Today, my husband ordered take-out from Panda Garden. When he had to keep repeating the order on the phone, I knew he'd had to check when picking up. I normally order Orange Chicken. Actually, I've never ordered anything but from Panda Garden. Sure enough, it wasn't orange chicken. They took the order back to make orange chicken. Now, I can handle lots of spice. It was $14 as I remember, which is a little pricey, but it was literally the BEST Chinese buffet I've ever had and I've eaten at literally dozens of them, mostly in Minneapolis/St. Paul. If you are into seafood, the price is fine, but I'm just a fried chicken/rice/noodles type of guy. The egg drop and hot and sour soups were also literally tied for the best I've ever had. Absolutely could not post a worst review. The buffet was pitiful, with little food in each bin. When my friend requested more of an item, someone went to the kitchen but never returned. Many items were lukewarm and clearly been sitting for a while. Upon returning home I discovered I had left my phone in the restroom. My friend called immediately and the woman said they checked after lunch crowd, no phone. My daughter used her iPhone to GPS my phone, which WAS at this restaurant. Every time I ate here it was horrible! I've tried to go at different times to see if that mattered...it didn't. Most of the time the rice or noodle dishes tasted like they were cooked in old oil. The fried dishes are always over cooked and dry. To top it off the staff are always yelling at each other in Chinese from across the restaurant.
