    Vermicelli Vietnamese style. Delicious

Excellent authentic Vietnamese vermicelli noodles with pork, veggies, and peanuts. Perfect dressing. The spring rolls were ok. The Jasmin tea was expensive per cup. Excellent fast service. Clean. Nice decor. Reasonable prices.

Quick take: close to my hotel This Vietnamese spot was close to my hotel. I ordered the beef stew with bread. The stewed meat was tender and had a lot of flavor. I ordered a passion fruit drink and didn't really like that drink. Service was very friendly and fast. If I stayed longer I would have dined a second time.

Amazing banh mi sandwich and pho. I like ordering take out from here and going to across the pond (bar) to watch games. The bar has no kitchen so it's so convenient having the restaurant here. Need to go and try their Vietnamese coffee next. Service was friendly and they have a system down to get orders in and out.

Warm + foodie Had the best little foodie find in Dupont Circle this weekend My friend and I stopped by @vietkitchendc for her birthday and I can't stop thinking about that shrimp pho (with extra brisket, of course ). Cozy spot, amazing food, and the sweetest staff! I ordered extra broth to go i it was just right! Full review + photos now on Lemon8 @[makingsofparadise] l've started my food blog journey

In town for a conference and stumbled across this awesome authentic place. The wife ordered their steak pho and I ordered their vermicelli chicken & shrimp dish. Wow, bloody wow. Left the place with a circus in my mouth. Oh, and the service was top notch also. Highly recommend. 3 Thumbs Up & 5 Stars from us.

I came out here to visit and found this lil restaurant. Singapore noodles and pho was good. It Tasted authentic.

Grilled Pork Rice Plate - mostly fat and not grilled at all.

Disappointing. Not authentic. The grilled pork rice plate was mostly fat rather than meat and wasn't grilled at all. The pad thai tofu looked good but was tasteless. Wouldn't recommend at all. The service was fine and the ambience was nice. But the food is expensive and not authentic at all.

Ambiance. Cozy, chill, great food and incredible service

Fantastic meals and incredible service. Trinh really made the experience with thoughtful service and insights into the menu items. Every time I come in Trinh remembers me. I've been here 3 times in the last month or so and have had the Pho and the vermicelli bowls.

It's gorgeous. The seats are well arranged, close but angled and not overly intimate. We ordered the tuna & salmon tartar, ceviche, a pair of salmon belly tacos, an eel roll, two cocktails, and they gifted us a celebratory small sorbet dessert. Every moment felt perfectly curated and thoughtful. Every member of the staff was kind, swift, and knowledgeable. The prices are high and the portions are small, so be warned. Definitely will feel a bit of sticker shock but it's excellent for a celebration. Above all, the tartar was a crowd favorite and we cannot wait to return!

Shōtō is one of DC's most striking Japanese dining experiences, equal parts upscale restaurant and high‑energy nightlife spot. The moment you walk in, you're hit with dramatic lighting, a sleek volcanic‑stone aesthetic, and a buzzy crowd that's clearly here to make a night of it. If you're looking for quiet, this isn't your place; if you're looking for a vibe, you've found it. The food is genuinely impressive. The robata‑grilled dishes are the stars, especially the short rib with chili‑soy glaze and the wagyu cuts that arrive perfectly caramelized. Sushi is clean, fresh, and beautifully presented; the hamachi and tacos are crowd favorites for a reason. The omakase is high‑quality, though ordering à la carte gives you more freedom to explore the menu's highlights. Don't skip the lobster tempura or the black cod gyoza. These are two of my absolute favorites! Service is polished and knowledgeable, though it can be a bit inconsistent on busy nights. The dress code is enforced, so come prepared...this is not a sneakers‑and‑hoodie kind of spot. Glam up! Prices are undeniably steep, and portions lean small, but the overall experience, food, atmosphere, and presentation, makes it feel like a worthwhile splurge for celebrations, date nights, or anyone who enjoys a lively, modern Japanese dining scene. If you want a quiet, traditional meal, look elsewhere. If you want great food wrapped in a high‑energy, beautifully designed setting, Shōtō delivers. Yes to this place! Over and Over AGAIN!

Dumplings: I love all the options they have, but weirdly the impossible meat one is probably my favorite (which is insane!) Broccolini: Really good tempura veggies. Dessert - Doughnuts: I wish the donuts were just the tad bit sweet, but the jelly on the bottom makes it all worthwhile. The pistachio gelato really brings it all together. Coffee cheesecake: Excellent! Lots of fresh fruits and I enjoyed more it with every bite. The service is always excellent and Anju is one of my favorite restaurants in DC!

I made RSVP for this Korean restaurant on a Sunday evening...and it was bustling!…read more Despite RSVP for the main room, we got seated in an extended part of the room (more like an indoor patio?)...so frankly, the ambiance was a bit off for me. So was the overhead music. Guess I expected a more authentic Korean experience, but the place was more or less an Americanized Korean bistro. Still, the foods seemed authentic! We ordered a few things to share... Mandu, Dolsot Bibimbap, and this Ssam Board. For drinks, my husband got some beer (?), and I got this fruity cocktail (??). First, the positives! The Mandu was really, really good...and quite meaty! The Dolsot Bibimbap was good in that it came with a generous load of fresh veggies. Now the problems. The Bulgogi in the Dolsot Bibimbap was problematic. It was a bit too fatty...and too chunky...and just hard to eat. It was also a bit bland! They should have cut it up a bit...or provided us with proper cutlery, like a fork and a knife! This is a pet peeve of mine...but nowadays, hardly any restaurant gives you the full set of cutlery. Just fork, or just chopsticks!! Then the Ssam Board. While it looked luscious, I personally had a problem with the meat. While I love Galbi, cuts of Galbi was all-out rare. The waiter didn't even ask for our preference, by the way. If I knew it'd be prepared that red, I would have ordered something else. If it was medium-rare, for instance, I might have liked this dish. My husband prefers a much more rare cut of meat than me, yet even he thought this was too red. Also, I expected something more than raddish for sides. Not sure if this "Board" was worth $42. We also tried this Black Sesame Ice Cream dessert. I loved the flavor...but nothing too special. Service was a bit off as well. While friendly at our table, our waiter wasn't too attentive...especially in the beginning. If he stopped by our table earlier, I might have gotten them to bring back the Ssam Board to cook the meat a bit more. Frankly, I was underwhelmed with the foods, the presentation, even the service. Overall, there were just too many things amiss (or just underwhelming??)...so much so that I doubt I'll pick this place again.

I'll have to try that next time, but this time I got the Ceviche Nikkei, Lucky 12 (4pcs of 3 different types of siu mai), and the Aji de Gallina. The pollo siu mai has like a salsa in it that was very unique but not my favorite. The Aji de Gallina was very hearty and comforting. The chicken pieces themselves were fine but the stew was so delicious. The real star of the show was the dessert: ponderaciones de kiwicha! The banana ice cream it comes with was phenomenal, it pairs so well with the cocoa powder! I would come back just for dessert! The ambiance is really nice! Fun little concept of Chinese and Peruvian fusion food as the name suggests…read more I was eating by myself so I tried passionate fruit juice and the lomo saltado, unfortunately not the Chinese fusion food. The drink and food I'd say is pretty standard. The Lomo Saltado dish, however, I'd say that it's just a bit too salty, and the beef steak is slightly overdone, but only slightly. So I'd still give it a 4/5. Overall, I thought it's a beautiful space and nice dining experience and I'd still recommend it to others, just not on the top of my list.

That said, my last tuna roll (can't remember the exact name) was actually really good--about an 8.5/10. The service was decent. Q made sure we were taken care of, but he did seem a bit annoyed by some of our questions. We asked about the 4% wellness charge since we'd never seen that before (and I consider myself a foodie).
