Shout out to Roza for taking care of our group of seven hungry men. She seated us quickly and took care of our orders in a timely manner. I started with the Charmthai house salad. It was pretty large and full of fresh greens, cucumbers, and carrots. The peanut dressing was good, but could have used a little more salt and savory for my liking. My entrée was Red Curry Delight with chicken with a side of white rice. The curry was very flavorful with just the right amount of spice. It had a nice umami taste from the fish sauce. Definitely one of the more affordable finds in Georgetown.

I came here on a very cold night looking for something close to my hotel. I was not disappointed. It was very nice with a quiet ambience and really wonderful service. The service was very attentive. The menu was large and I had lots of options as I am vegan. I enjoyed my food and my time at Charm Thai and I will definitely be back again.

Decided to skip the original restaurant choice upon a friend's recommendation of Charm Thai. We decided to order 3 dishes I often get at Thai restaurants and Charm Thai did not disappoint. I managed to at least capture two of the 3 dishes. A) Massamam Curry with Chicken B) Drunken Noodle with Beef C) Basil Fried Rice with Shrimp (no picture)

Got doordash. Super tasty. Eggplant with mixed veggies had a great spice level flavor. Tofu drunken noodles was sautéed well and delicious.

Still tasty! The Pad Thai lunch special is an affordable indulgence. Drunken noodles are so good. I could eat Thai food every day. MealPal and Charm Thai help make that dream (almost) reality!

I went on a Friday afternoon about 1 PM to have lunch with a friend. I was surprised at how empty the restaurant was for that time of day and day of the week. Not necessarily a good sign. Parking was relatively easy to find also, which was great. Given that there was only one other patron in the restaurant we received prompt service. I ordered the pads for you which is what I get regularly. When I go to TY Thai restaurants. I asked for extra broccoli. The portion size was OK, I was surprised that it was not the Asian broccoli I typically get with this dish. The flavor was decent, but the noodles were slightly overdone. It was a decent meal, but I don't know that I would recommend the place or return again.

We looked at the reviews before coming here and notice such a mix. So we decided to just go for it and make our own judgement since we were in the area and walked by it a lot. I really wanted to like it, and maybe they were having an off day? But here's my review: 1) drinks: ordered 2 pineapple juice (I like juice ok lol)...let's just say it tasted really funky. Like it was spoiled and they added club soda to it. So then it tasted like Kombucha. I gave it a 0 stars. 2) fried eggs rolls- it was crispy. But the fillings were soggy and had no flavor. Gave it a 2 star. 3) pad Thai- it was ok. The tofu tasted a bit off and too spongy. The flavor was mediocre but not bad at the same time. 3 stars 4) venue- there were a lot of cob webs. I really don't like spiders but there were just too many webs. 2 stars 5) staff- there was only 1 waiter who was nice and he had to be the bartender as well. So I give his service a 4 stars. So if I average that out, it's basically a 2 star place from my experience. I hope things improve and for them to do well. But like I said, maybe it's an off day. Who knows.

"Guava boba" after it was finished and just had melted ice in it.

I only ordered boba tea. It didn't taste like the flavor I ordered. It just tasted like any unsweetened tea. I asked for "no ice" but the waitress seemed like she wasn't able to do that and said "little ice" which I said ok to. When I got the drink it was a small cup half full of ice. It was almost $10. The atmosphere seemed calm but I didn't like that at all.

    Table ambiance

Ambiance was dim and quiet. The server was immediately attentive and very nice. Great menu choices. I think the sauce and spring rolls were not gluten free after a few hours my stomach hurt but it tasted soooo good. Highly recommend.

To start with the positives, everyone we interacted with was incredibly nice and pleasant. The staff was welcoming, and there was nothing negative to say about their attitude or customer service. However, the overall service was oddly slow. The restaurant wasn't crowded, yet everything seemed to take much longer than expected. For drinks, I ordered a Cosmopolitan and my girlfriend had a beer. Both were fine, but nothing particularly memorable. We ordered the crab rangoons, spring rolls, shrimp in garlic sauce, and the Tom Yum noodle bowl. The crab rangoons were fried perfectly, but there wasn't any noticeable crab in them--just hot cream cheese filling. The spring rolls were okay, though they were extremely greasy, with oil pooling on the plate. My girlfriend enjoyed the Tom Yum noodle bowl, but she wished the egg had been prepared differently. It was fully hard-boiled, whereas we were expecting a softer, more traditional preparation. Unfortunately, the shrimp in garlic sauce was the biggest disappointment. The fish sauce flavor was so overpowering that it masked everything else. I ended up feeling ill and couldn't finish the dish. Another issue was the temperature inside the restaurant. It was extremely warm, to the point that I had to step outside for some fresh air. Overall, the people were genuinely kind, and I can see why others enjoy this restaurant. While I wouldn't personally recommend it based on my experience, I also wouldn't be opposed to returning if friends wanted to go. I would simply order different menu items next time.

I sampled a crispy rice salad and some drunken noodles, expecting to eat about half of each. The salad was fantastic, with the light texture of the crispy rice allowing the aroma of lime, chili, and various other flavors to percolate through it. I asked them to hit me with the full spice level for my drunken noodles, and they were venomous, even once I had gotten used to them. The people were preparing some spice trays to be used for ad hoc seasoning, but I had no need of any further chili. A Thai iced tea with lychee I thought was going to be a milk tea, as the term Thai iced tea normally connotes, but it was in fact just tea with fruit. Still good though, and it came with one full lychee. Some of the other people eating around me noted that they planned on leftovers and instead ate everything they got, a comment that the portions aren't huge but also that the flavors are captivating. I finished mine too.

After walking around for an hour, we came back, but the receptionist informed us that no tables were available yet. Despite the heavy wind, they made us wait outside again. We were finally seated after a total wait of an hour and a half, while some other walk-ins got tables instantly. The terrible service continued inside. The table next to us had ordered 15 minutes before us and was still waiting for their food. It took another 45 minutes for our food to arrive--and that was only because I nudged the staff after 30 minutes of waiting. I've been to many American, European, and Asian restaurants, but none have ever been this slow. Price-wise, the portions were small and the flavor fell short compared to standard Thai restaurants. My husband and I had Pad Thai, seafood Tom Yum, and a platter of boiled vegetables with spicy dipping sauce and sticky rice. The vegetables were overcooked. The Tom Yum cost $30 for a small bowl that could barely feed one person (usually enough for two elsewhere), and it tasted like clam soup with zero lime leaf aroma. The tofu in the Pad Thai was bone-dry and crumbly. To top it all off, the restroom floor was soaking wet due to a leak. On top of that, the restroom was not only soaking wet but also inexplicably freezing, making me feel like I was using the toilet in the middle of a windy ocean. Will definitely not be back.

I had the Tam Sum, papaya salad and that was very good with a hint of spice and lime. Then, I also had Chuenh Peek Gai, which was tamarind glazed wings. Omg they were savory and crispy! I loved these. For the entree, the bartender recommended some great options, but I finally settled on Kee Mao, which is flattened rice noodles with stir fry beef and vegetables. Corn coated in a thin layer of tempura batter, fried until crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, showcasing its natural sweetness and slightly chewy texture. It was somewhat like a Chinese yumi-lao玉米烙 but more moist. The most surprising thing was that despite being entirely vegetarian food, it has the sweetness and meaty texture of fried shrimp paste. The sweet and sour sauce is similar to the Thai sweet chili sauce commonly found in China, but thinner. Served in a small cup, it looked like a cup of black tea, making it more refreshing. Grilled Pork Neck: Very different from pork neck in Chinese Thai cuisine; it's more like Cantonese char-siu叉燒. The pork neck was very well marinated and grilled to a very tender perfection, with a rich and smooth honey aroma, and a subtle wine aftertaste, but it was slightly too sweet for me. Nam Jin Jaew was primarily composed of the tangy kick of lime and the savory saltiness of fish sauce, complemented by the mild spiciness of bird's eye chili, the special fragrance of cilantro, and the sweetness of palm sugar, with a subtle hint of smokiness. It was refreshing on the whole, and incredibly layered - I fell in love with it instantly. Tom Saab Soup: It looked light, but it was surprisingly spicy and sour! The ribs were very fresh, all marbled with fat and lean meat, stewed until incredibly tender, allowing you to taste the natural aroma of the meat. The sourness was subtle, clear, and mild, with a base of lemongrass fragrance that added even more depth. My friend thoughtfully ordered it mildly spicy, but in the end, it just felt like it lacked a kick. Mango Sticky Rice: The best mango sticky rice I've ever had! The sticky rice was cooked to perfect texture and warmth, absorbing the coconut milk flawlessly - neither too watery nor too dry. The first taste was the fragrance of glutinous rice, followed by the sweetness of coconut milk, and a refreshing, slightly tart mango to cut through the richness. Thai Iced Tea: Too much condensed milk, excessively sweet. My friend said it was much sweeter than the last time she had it. Was this a change in the recipe, or did the quality control need improvement? Donsak is a district in Surat Thani, Thailand, and also the hometown of the restaurant's co-owner and manager, Boom, where she was born and raised. The restaurant's introduction states: "When she left for the US, Boom didn't know she wouldn't get to see her home again for many years - and she still hasn't. Donsak is a way around that."
