Rimtang is an awesome place and worth visiting. Service was fantastic and has beautiful interior. Food is excellent we got papya salad, pork belly kerpraw, and penang curry with shrimp. The papya salad well seasoned with great heat. The pork belly was delicious had great crunch but was still tender. The fried basil added great freshness with the rice. The curry was nice and flavorful with great balance of heat and spices. We also got some larb it was delicious well seasoned and balanced.

Very cool authentic Thai cuisine in a simple but beautifully appointed little restaurant with two floors of dining! Make reservations because they're busy and always full with very limited seating!! So that tells you how great this place is!! The food is amazing and spicy, flavorful!!! We were the only ones seated at 6:30pm, then all of a sudden a rush of people started coming in!! The iced Thai coffee is refreshing!! The spicy calamari is phenomenal! Service is fast, friendly and outstanding!! They play great music!! 80's Highly recommend this place as it is located in the heart of Georgetown and serves the best authentic Thai cuisine!!

Excellent experience at Rimtang for dinner. When we walked in, we were confused because the first floor had no one dining. But they brought us upstairs, and it was busy on a Friday night. The service was great. They were very kind and quick with the food and drinks. We ordered the spicy calamari, crab dumplings, panang curry and nam prik ong. The food was delicious. The calamari was crispy and hot. The nam prik ong was a unique blend of tomato and savory pork. The shrimp panang curry was rich, and the shrimp were perfectly tender. Unfortunately, it was not mango season, so we didn't get mango sticky rice, which is our fave. Overall, great dinner! Nice comfortable dining room on the second floor. Great service! And most importantly, the food was bomb! We left very full.

Family owned businesses are truly gems and this place was nothing short of amazing! First, the selection of yellow paint for the outside brings a special brightness to your life as you approach the building. Next, the inside is very cute and cozy, making it perfect for an intimate date or even a solo lunch/dinner. The host and our waitress were beyond kind and friendly, I appreciated feeling welcomed as if I were part of their family. For beverages, I ordered the Sparkling Roselle juice, PERFECT for hot summer days. But also an excellent beverage to pair with spicy foods. My boyfriend ordered the iced Thai tea and loved it. For starters, we ordered the spicy crispy calamari. This dish was FANTASTIC! Perfectly fried and well seasoned to incorporate just the right balance of spices. It's a bit of a spice kicker, but nothing that a cool sip of beverage couldn't calm. Paired with a sweet sauce on this side, I appreciated the combination of heat and sweetness to this beautiful appetizer. For mains, we ordered their seasonal special. I ordered the Stir-fried Chinese broccoli with crispy pork belly and my boyfriend ordered the Ka-Praw (which came with crispy pork belly). Both dishes were PHENOMENAL! I have a deep appreciation for the way Chef takes a chance on blending flavors. It felt like a perfect culinary bridge which connected Thai culture to each dish. The stir-fried Chinese broccoli was beautifully prepared, not too soft but just crunchy enough. It was not heavily drowned in seasoning but had a hint of spice and acidity to it. The crispy pork belly could sell all by itself and I'd order it. Another appreciation for how the Chef balanced the fat from the pork with a hint of acidity seeping through the sauce added in the broccoli. It was a masterpiece My boyfriend also thoroughly enjoyed his Ka-Praw and the evidence of that was that we both left nothing to go lol the food was that good. I cannot wait to return again. No reservations needed, it was a random and well worth date.

Based on the raving reviews, I was exited to try Rimtang while in Georgetown. It wasn't super busy on a Friday afternoon so we were able to get a table right away. They do have a sitting area downstairs as well as upstairs. The menu looked really good so I was excited to try their staples. The spring rolls were pretty greasy and definitely didn't worth the calories. My pad Thai was pretty bland for my taste. Not something I would come back for. Considering location, the prices were on a higher end.

Best Thai food we've had ever, and our favorite on this trip. I always thought Thai food is not something to break your wallet for, but the prices here are 100% justified given the flavors, quality and perfection of every dish we ordered today. The papaya salad was extremely refreshing, crunchy and actually spicy! Every vegetable just went well with the overall salad, making everything well balanced. The batter on the spicy calamari was perfection and the sauce did it better. Our favorite was the panang curry. My husband doesn't care for curry at all and he killed this dish. It was so creamy and flavorful. Definitely would come back just for this dish. The Ka Praw also exceeded my expectations. The fried egg was cooked perfectly with an ooey gooey yolk that just brought everything together- definitely opt for this if you can! Wish we had this in LA!

This place is super cute - SUPER small - delicious food. I gave it four stars for food because it's hard to find good Thai here. Service was ok - our server was all over the place so we had to keep flagging someone else down who seemed to have things under control (we didn't get serving utensils, no rice, etc). This is a VERY casual place and is all about the food. Very small list of wines/beers and no cocktails. So go somewhere before or after if that's your objective. We ordered the spring rolls (delicious), chicken satay (fine - I liked the vinegar sauce that accompanied), pad Thai was good but the oxtail soup was the clear winner for me. So delicious! We did not order dessert but I will likely order food to be delivered to my house next time and try the mango sticky rice.

Lovely experience! Each dish was crafted thoughtfully and brings out the authentic flavors of Thai food. I particularly enjoyed the Kaeng Hanglay. The Oxtail Soup was also delicious. The staff are friendly, and the food arrived so quickly. It feels cozy inside, with two floors, and it is beautifully decorated.

Jumbo lump crab omelette was amazing!

Always trust Eater...this place is amazing! I ate the most amazing jumbo lump crab omelette the other day. Lovely service and a peaceful Georgetown location just below the main drag ensure an enjoyable meal. Same menu for lunch and dinner so you can also enjoy the omelette anytime. I'll be back!

Tried this place because I was in the area before an event and wanted something good for lunch. They did not disappoint. It looked pretty busy when I went in, but I was seated quickly. The server was nice provided good recommendations. I had the spicy crispy calamari for an appetizer and the Ka-Praw with pork and a fried egg. Both were really flavorful and the Ka-Praw was very filling. I wanted to try dessert but I was too full. The spot was cozy and had nice art work and good music playing. This made for a nice and peaceful environment. The food came out pretty fast too, so that was nice.

Came here on a Sunday for an early lunch. The papaya salad was the only dish that tasted authentic. The Pad see ew was mushy--felt like the noodles were overcooked. The crabmeat fried rice mostly just tasted like curry powder; I was expecting a lot more :/

    Joshua K.

I recently got Ka-Praw with chicken for delivery and my order came on time. I loved my Ka-Praw-the portion size and price were good, the rice and chicken were perfectly cooked, the chicken had great spice and heat, and the flavors were outstanding. I look forward to going back to Rimtang!

Chili Jam Clams, white wine -- 10/10
    Delana A.

I was craving thai food & was in the area, so we decided to try this place out for dinner. I was so pleasantly impressed with their menu, specifically because of the spicy clams I ordered. I had never had clams & was nervous about the texture & the flavor. The flavor was all there ! It came with rice, so I ended up adding the rice to the sauce at the bottom of my bowl & ate that up too! We also ordered wine, shrimp tempura & tea. Everything was great, including the service. The bathrooms are a little tricky to get to, as we sat downstairs & the bathrooms are located upstairs. The upstairs seating area is a tad more spacious , but the whole place is pretty small. I will definitely be returning soon :)

I sampled a crispy rice salad and some drunken noodles, expecting to eat about half of each. The salad was fantastic, with the light texture of the crispy rice allowing the aroma of lime, chili, and various other flavors to percolate through it. I asked them to hit me with the full spice level for my drunken noodles, and they were venomous, even once I had gotten used to them. The people were preparing some spice trays to be used for ad hoc seasoning, but I had no need of any further chili. A Thai iced tea with lychee I thought was going to be a milk tea, as the term Thai iced tea normally connotes, but it was in fact just tea with fruit. Still good though, and it came with one full lychee. Some of the other people eating around me noted that they planned on leftovers and instead ate everything they got, a comment that the portions aren't huge but also that the flavors are captivating. I finished mine too.

You can really taste the caramelization. And the large shrimp were velveted which was made it extra satisfying to eat. Also a good shareable portion size! Muu Som: 4/5 this was super rich and heavy. Would get this again only to share with a larger group. Loved that it came with sticky rice. Mango sticky rice: 4/5 delicious but in my opinion didn't need the ice cream on top (my boyfriend thinks otherwise though). Very large portion as well. The cocktails were a little pricy ($15) for what they were but I did love the tamarind margarita. Just wish it was a larger drink or a smaller price tag. Service was very attentive!

Luckily, it was happy hour, so I was able to sample a couple of their appetizers and their daiquiri which was quite strong. I had the Tam Sum, papaya salad and that was very good with a hint of spice and lime. Then, I also had Chuenh Peek Gai, which was tamarind glazed wings. Omg they were savory and crispy! I loved these. For the entree, the bartender recommended some great options, but I finally settled on Kee Mao, which is flattened rice noodles with stir fry beef and vegetables. It was also a very savory dish, with a sweetness to it. Laotian food is very similar to Thai food and I love Thai food. I will not sleep on this restaurant and will be back soon!!

Corn coated in a thin layer of tempura batter, fried until crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, showcasing its natural sweetness and slightly chewy texture. It was somewhat like a Chinese yumi-lao玉米烙 but more moist. The most surprising thing was that despite being entirely vegetarian food, it has the sweetness and meaty texture of fried shrimp paste. The sweet and sour sauce is similar to the Thai sweet chili sauce commonly found in China, but thinner. Served in a small cup, it looked like a cup of black tea, making it more refreshing. Grilled Pork Neck: Very different from pork neck in Chinese Thai cuisine; it's more like Cantonese char-siu叉燒. The pork neck was very well marinated and grilled to a very tender perfection, with a rich and smooth honey aroma, and a subtle wine aftertaste, but it was slightly too sweet for me. Nam Jin Jaew was primarily composed of the tangy kick of lime and the savory saltiness of fish sauce, complemented by the mild spiciness of bird's eye chili, the special fragrance of cilantro, and the sweetness of palm sugar, with a subtle hint of smokiness. It was refreshing on the whole, and incredibly layered - I fell in love with it instantly. Tom Saab Soup: It looked light, but it was surprisingly spicy and sour! The ribs were very fresh, all marbled with fat and lean meat, stewed until incredibly tender, allowing you to taste the natural aroma of the meat. The sourness was subtle, clear, and mild, with a base of lemongrass fragrance that added even more depth. My friend thoughtfully ordered it mildly spicy, but in the end, it just felt like it lacked a kick. Mango Sticky Rice: The best mango sticky rice I've ever had! The sticky rice was cooked to perfect texture and warmth, absorbing the coconut milk flawlessly - neither too watery nor too dry. The first taste was the fragrance of glutinous rice, followed by the sweetness of coconut milk, and a refreshing, slightly tart mango to cut through the richness. Thai Iced Tea: Too much condensed milk, excessively sweet. My friend said it was much sweeter than the last time she had it. Was this a change in the recipe, or did the quality control need improvement? Donsak is a district in Surat Thani, Thailand, and also the hometown of the restaurant's co-owner and manager, Boom, where she was born and raised. The restaurant's introduction states: "When she left for the US, Boom didn't know she wouldn't get to see her home again for many years - and she still hasn't. Donsak is a way around that." For my dining pleasure, I went with the drunken noodles with chicken. While the meal was pretty tasty, I thought the portion size was a bit small compared to the same dish that I've had at other Thai places in the area. While the portion size was a bit smaller for this dish, I did think the prices in general were pretty reasonable compared to other spots in the area. Interestingly enough, I did place an order to go for my family, and the portions for those dishes were pretty standard. One thing that I have to recommend: the chicken wings with the chili sauce. I'll say that the sweet chili sauce was out of this world amazing. The Regent really should bottle this sauce and sell it, because I would totally use this sauce in my everyday cooking. Actually, I probably appreciated the sweet chili sauce more than the chicken wings. ;) Overall, I cannot really complain about my experience at The Regent.
