Got the bbq pork rice plate takeout on yelp. They made it wrong at first but fixed it. They gave me the pork chop. The bbq pork was tender and flavorful. Our waitress Kate was very sweet. We asked a couple questions regarding the food and drinks we ordered and she was very accommodating. The food is good. The pho tastes more "cleaner" than some other pho places in Santa Maria. We had the Bahn Mi in a previous visit and it was delicious as well. Surprisingly, they also have a decent Pad Thai. And to top it off, they offer a Green Thai Tea that may be better than the matcha Thai tea another Thai place offers. But the matcha here is more tasty dare I say. My bf and I have been here a few times and they're just becoming our regular Vietnamese restaurant. We tried different dishes every time. I personally recommend their Pho special (ask staffs for their bottle of fish sauce to add in your pho bowl is a game changer for me, thank me later!) Their chicken wing appertizer pretty tasty and legit as well. Spring rolls always hit the spot with the fresh shrimp and peanut sauce. I like their lychee jasmine tea with adjustment of less sweet (extra tea will do it). Don't forget to end your meal with their Flan dessert which is my favorite and it's seasonal since it's only written on the chalk boards when you walk in the restaurant. FOOD: I ordered the Bun Bo Hue (spicy noodles). I love that you are able to choose whether you want rice noodles or egg noodles. I am an egg noodle girly lol. It was delicious! Perfect spice and they do still give you the veggies on the side along with a chili oil if you prefer it spicier. It was perfect with or without. Although, mid meal I noticed a fly in my soup. Most people would make it a huge deal but stuff happens. I let them know and they took care of it and I received a new bowl. Yes, it was gross but it is what it is. Other than that one incident, we ordered bbq spring rolls, banh mi and a house special pho. Bbq spring rolls were good and so was the banh mi. With cold and flu season upon us, I opted to boost my immunity with phō soup. When my regular spot in Santa Maria was closed on Wednesday I quickly searched for pho in the area to my surprise didn't know Viet Kitchen was close by. . Upon walking in, a young gentleman greeted us and asked if we were dining in and then told us to sit wherever we would like. We got a high top round table in the front of the restaurant near the bar. The space is clean, bright with oriental style lanterns and oil portraits on the wall. They had the World Series on and an anime show, good choices to watch. . The menu has several pages, but is simple and easy to read. I got a pot of the Jasmine green tea and chicken pho; my friends ordered the orange chicken and vegetarian phō. Everything came out at the same time. My soup was hot, but not piping and had a good ratio of ingredients to my broth. The tea is unsweetened and is a good pre and post meal drink. My friends cleaned their plates always a sign of a great meal. . Although the restaurant was maybe a third of the way full, they still get busy with online and to go orders. Either way, service was fair and the food was vibrant and refreshing. I'm happy I found this place and will frequent it often for all my phō needs! read more

This review is for my take-out experience only. I placed my large order through Yelp because I could view and confirm my order before submitting. I was ordering for a party of 8. I went to pick up my take-out order and asked for chili oil. The guy looked at me and without hesitation said it's in the bag. Ok. I drive home and realize we are missing an entree and there wasn't any chili oil in the bag. I called the restaurant to let them know about the missing entree. The same guy that helped me when I picked up tells me, "I can either get it ready for you to pick up or I can owe you for next time." I asked him to prepare the entree, since a person in our party wouldn't have dinner otherwise. It was an inconvenience to make the 15 minutes drive back over on a rainy day. I cannot review the food because by the time we were all able to eat, the food was more on the cold side. I was surprised by how good this place was! I'm from Southern California, where the standards of Vietnamese food are really high, but this place was on par with what I'm used to. I ordered a banh mi sandwich with BBQ pork. It was delicious! The bread was soft and tender and the pork was grilled in a lightly sweet marinade and it was juicy and crispy. alright! it has been a while since we've come here so i thought i would re-visit. Service was amazing! quick, responsive and attentive! 5/5 service was great! Fried wings- still not perfect but a lot better than before. Last time they were super dry but this time they were mainly cooked well with some being uneven. Crispy outside and soft and juicy inside! the sauce is delicious though i wish it was spicier vs sweeter. Spicy noodles special- basically pho with beef and pork and all the fixings to put, all on the side. They give you the spicy sauce to put as needed as well. Great broth and just a comforting, GIANT, bowl of goodness! I also had the Viet coffee and it was good just nothing different that i noticed. I was sick and needed some broth to soothe my throat l. This place is near my house so I DoorDashed the pho tai. It was ok, sort of bland and unfortunately I couldn't doctor it up because they only give you one hoisin packet and one little quarter of lime for the broth. I also ordered the egg rolls and this is the lettuce that I got to wrap my 4 egg rolls with. One soggy leaf of lettuce. No pickled carrots or daikon or cilantro. The egg roll was stale. The restaurant is tucked away in a somewhat empty plaza, right next to Salty Brigade (although I believe this location predates it). My take out order of vermicelli bowls was promised in just 5-10 mins and was ready for me when I arrived. The young man working was friendly and polite. I noticed the restaurant was completely empty around lunch on a Sunday so I wonder if it's mostly used for take out or perhaps it's just hidden away? The space is nice and spacious to dine in. I arrived at home and was somewhat surprised to see that the prices charged were higher than the written menu from a couple months ago indicated. I also thought the servings of protein were somewhat small & my entire bowl had just one leaf of basil. I really enjoy the fresh herbs in Vietnamese food so that was a let down for me. All in all, the food seems fresh but meat quality is just so so (I received some fat gristle in my pork) and shrimp was a little over cooked. It's not a bad meal by any meals but I still feel that the price is a bit high for what you get. I may have been spoiled by amazing Vietnamese food when I lived in San Jose but I am still glad we have this option here in town. read more
