This place is the best banh mi place. Having been to banh mi shops in OKC/Dallas/Houston, I love that Lo Banh Mi is the one I come home to in Tulsa. I've had the grilled pork, special, and pork patty banh mi's and they are all excellent and very filling. They use a pate spread (extra points for authenticity) and also a yummy Viet mayo in their sandwiches. We never leave without egg rolls either. They have the best egg rolls in Tulsa and remind me of my mom's egg rolls, and their boba is very good, too! read more

Great little shop to get artisanal Vietnamese Banh Mi! There are a few things to improve but so far it's the best Banh Mi in town! Our favorite is the Dac Biet (Special Combination) Banh Mi which includes all the kind of meat including Chinese pork BBQ, pâté, and regular pork. The sandwich is made with mayonnaise, cilantro, pickled veggies (carrots and celery) and also has jalapeños to give it a hot kick! They are very generous with the meat portions on the foot long baguette style bread. The one point that would benefit from improvement is the bread. It would be fantastic if they had a better baguette instead but so far I can't find a better Banh mi in Tulsa. The shop is really small and only has 4-5 tables that fit 2-3 people each. I got there to order Banh mi to go and there was no A/C but a bunch of fans running so the store was pretty hot. I definitely recommend getting the sandwiches to go and enjoy them at a picnic or at home. read more

Their banh mi is delicious! There's an ample amount of meat in it, with complimenting veggies and traditional pâté. The bread has a perfectly crusty outside but soft and airy inside, and the slightly spicy, sweet, tangy, and fresh flavors of all the components of the sandwich are balanced very well. I'm sold on the grilled pork for sure, but I was also pleasantly surprised at how good the chicken version is (I think chicken is boring and don't order it at restaurants but we thought we'd try it as our free sandwich), it's packed with flavor and isn't dry at all. The value of this place is unbeatable for anywhere I've found banh mi in the Tulsa area. I definitely recommend this place if you're a banh mi lover around Tulsa! P.S. Wow! My banh mi was full of meat & vegetables. They have 5 or 6 different sandwiches to choose from. The price is excellent, you cant find a better Banh mi for the price here. The banh mi's are over priced everywhere else in Tulsa. It was very flavorful with a lil spice kick from the slice of jalepeno they put in there. It's a mom and pop shop that make their sandwiches with pride. Their coconut bubble tea is pretty yummy as well. My family & I will definitely be back for more. read more

A very solid choice for banh mi! Great selection and value. I had the special and the pork patty sandwiches. Both had fresh cilantro and good pickled carrots and radish. The bread was crunchy and very true to the banh mi expectation. I got a jackfruit slush too, and it was alright. I've had better smoothies, but there were goodies like boba and jelly. read more

This sandwich grew on me as I ate it. The meat is well seasoned, the veggies are plentiful and crisp. My only criticisms: the bread is a bit too crispy and the egg yolk didn't run (this can really bring the sandwich together, but it does make it messier to eat..) But, the sandwich was quick, less than $10. Served in a brown paper bag, it's ready for eating on the go (a must do to the lack of seating). So overall, quite pleased. read more

While modern fashion banh mi seems to get all of the notoriety, viet hot bread's traditional banh mi deserves as much attention. Unlike the overly sweet, overly sauced counterparts, these sandwiches instead rely on well marinated meats and fresh herbs to deliver a truly Vietnamese experience. Their fresh French bread, which seems to be baked in house, is perfectly crusted on the outside while soft and tender on the inside, delivering an initial crunch that gives way to your filling of choice. This little mama pop restaurant has the best banh mi, rice platters, eggrolls, and Boba tea in East Tulsa. The French bread is crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside just the way I like it. They're even good the next day. Refrigerate and bake in the oven. read more

After reading about this place online and here on Yelp I thought I'd give it a try. There is very limited seating inside, so you are better off getting your order to go especially if you have more then a few people. The store is simple and straight to the point inside with signs showing the sandwiches and drinks with numbers and names for those willing to try pronouncing them. I was not sure what to get so I asked. Neither of the women working spoke English so they had a man from the back come to help me. He seemed put off by having to come up and talk to me. When I asked what he recommended he named almost all of the sandwiches on the wall. He then just turned and walked away. It not very helpful IMHO. I read here on Yelp that they were sweet and friendly, I did not get that vibe based on his visit, and the two ladies couldn't communicate with me so I have no idea if they were friendly. They didnt really seem to smile. But good food doesnt always mean friendly people so I let the food itself be the judge. I ended up with two sandwiches and 2 drinks to take home. The drink I had on the way was very delicious and I enjoyed the boba pearls along with the fruity drink itself. The other is a smoothie waiting for me later. Both the sandwiches smelled great, and I had one of the two when I got home. It was quite filling and had just the right amount of bread to condiments to content ratio. It was quite good. I do think it would have been nice with a bit of extra sauce on it though, but I can't complain. Over all it was good food, a good sized portion (you could make 2 meals from the sandwiches) but it was a bit pricy. My order was over $20. But I have paid more for similar or less food and this isn't something one gets anywhere. I'll go back for more later and hope they are a bit friendlier. Maybe if I learn some basic Vietnamese to help smooth the chat? read more

My favorite banh mi place in Tulsa. Suitable for takeout, friendly people, good hot crispy and meaty banh mi. Grilled pork banh mi is really good, I like that they use pate, not mayo sauce like some other places. I am a picky eater when it comes to vietnamese food, because I am vietnamese, I can cook well, and I know how good food should taste like. And I recommend this place. As a lover of Vietnamese food, I can be a harsher critic than some, but for what the owners intended this place to be, it is spot on! They have 2 things: Bahn Mi and Bubble tea. Of course, that is 9 types of Bahn Mi and 19 types of bubble tea. I had the mixed meat sandwich (#1) and my daughter had meatball (#4). The French bread was ultra crispy on the outside and fluffy, but not dry, on the inside. Packed with French bread flavor! The meats were all excellent and the vegetables stuffed inside were fresh and crispy. These were the best Bahn Mi I think I've head. AND the same for the bubble tea. I had pistachio and it was great nutty flavor and not overly sweet with chewy bubbles and fruit chunks. Same can be said for my daughters Taro bubble tea, delicious! We will be back!!! read more

Recently tried a Banh Mi, it was ok, but I am not familiar with Pate'. it was a new flavor for my Palate, I think I will pass on it next time. The bread is perfect, it reminds me of Deliah's grinders in San Bernardino Ca. I have been looking for bread like this for 20 years or more. Found this place looking for Boba. It does not disappoint. The Thai tea Boba was the perfect degree of sweetness with soft chewy beads and fresh fruit included. It is the best cup of Boba I've tried so far. Also, the egg rolls were fresh, perfectly crisp and warm with a equal balance of meat and vegetables. The sauce was homemade with a sweet yet touch of twangy flavor. I will definitely be back soon! read more

The bahn mi are about 12" and will definitely fill you up. The pork bahn mi was good, and I loved that they use pâté instead of mayo as their spread. This is now my favorite sandwich place in Tulsa. Not only is the price phenomenal (now around $4.15 a sandwich), their bubble tea is out of this world. I have only had the passion fruit, but I couldn't imagine anything else would be less delicious than that was. For the sandwich, the bread was crusty and soft, the vegetables were all very flavorful and fresh, but the best part was the amazingly flavored pork. Also, a good slice of seeded jalapeño was inserted in the middle of my sandwich and that gave it an incredible kick. LOVED THE SANDWICH and we will be back!!! read more

This review is based simply off one item: the passion fruit boba drink. I came in at about noon on a Friday and the place was empty. I was instantly greeted by a friendly lady. She took my order and made my drink. I would have got a sandwich too if I were hungrier as this place was recommended to me by Vietnamese friend. The passion fruit drink is the right amount of sweet and tangy with surprising textures and fantastic flavors. The place is incredibly clean and the owner was extremely nice and excited that we were there, even though the place was far from empty. There's no where to sit, so you have to take your food to go, but who cares because the food is amazing. I got the #2, a pork banh mi, and the #4 boba passion tea. The sandwhich was to die for. They bake the bread fresh in the store (I saw a pan come out of the oven while we we waiting). The pork was tender and flavorful and the vegetables were fresh and colorful. The prices were incredibly reasonable ($4 for a foot long? Suck it, subway!) I will be going back. I will be going back often. read more

Sigh... I'm starting this off in a sad way because I forgot the golden rule. PHONE ALWAYS EATS FIRST. I devoured my sandwiches, yes sandwichES LOL and did not take a single picture. I am highly disappointed in myself because I was so hungry and so ready to eat (I'm pregnant). But I will describe it as best as I can! First off, the bread is SO fresh and so crispy on the outside yet soft and fluffy on the inside. Being Vietnamese I have high standards for a Banh Mi because it is something I really grew up loving to eat. I live in Fort Smith and was in town visiting and I was craving a sandwich that I couldn't get at home. It was perfectly dressed well with butter and mayo and all the veggies on top. The meat was top tier, absolutely delicious. I ordered the #1 Dac Biet Special (Traditional) and the #3 Ga Nuong (Grilled chicken). Both were amazing but I will say the #1 really spoke to my taste buds. You can tell they used fresh veggies because for one, they weren't wilted, the crunch from the pickled daikon and carrots and cucumber were perfect and the jalapeños were freshly cut and spicy! I will now be sure to always pick up some sandwiches on the way home next time we come to visit. I'm so glad I decided to try this place. THIS is a real Banh Mi joint if you're wanting to try one. I see several others in Tulsa that have completely changed the traditional Vietnamese sandwich and have butchered the ingredients. It's actually Vietnamese owned and they have other traditional dishes as well as boba! They also have a buy four get one free special! That is also a traditional selling point for Banh Mi's! Best Bahn Mi I have ever had. Its buy 4 get 1 free so we just got one of each and they are all really delicious. Its really hard to choose a sandwich when they are all so good. The bread is perfect! We have talked about going there to just buy bread next time we plan to make sandwiches ourselves. I also love the bubble tea - the passionfruit is my favorite! The accoutrements... onion, cilantro, jalapeños, bean sprouts, rice noodles, and lime wedges allowed me to customize my experience. Each bite was perfect and the jalapeño slices added a nice bit of flavor and heat. Prices are reasonable. Quality was exceptional and food tasted fresh. Definitely worth checking out,

I came back just to make sure my review was accurate. I tried both Bun Bo Hue (my favorite Vietnamese soup) and the Vietnamese pho. The pho broth was the same (mildly flavorful) but the noodles were more firm than last time. The Bun Bo Hue was comparable to other Vietnamese restaurants in Tulsa, but I would say none of them are exceptional. Good luck finding a Vietnamese restaurant that serves exceptional Bun Bo Hue in Tulsa like Pho Cuong in Oklahoma City.
