    Banh mi with bbq pork

This place is limited to just bahn mi sandwiches and fruity drinks. It's so simple yet delicious. So many flavors in the sandwich itself.

Small shop but a hole in the wall place for bahn mi! Their sandwich is always good. The bread is perfectly crisp on the outside but soft on the inside. Very flavorful sandwich. More a Togo shop than a sit down restaurant.

So delish. Owners are so friendly and really appreciate it if you speak Vietnamese haha. Quick service and kind service. Deal going on is buy 4, get 1 free :)

This place is my go to for Banh Mi's. I love their sandwich selections and the fact that you buy 4 get 1 free. Their drink menu is extensive and everything is made fresh to order. The prep setup is in sync and the workers are quick to get your order up and out. This is a take out place they have no tables but do have seating as you wait. The baguettes are crunchy enough to where you can enjoy your sandwich without worrying about it scratching the inside of your mouth lol.

Well, I am going to have to vacuum out the car. What a mess. Ordering was a bit of a challenge. No English spoken here. After reading reviews from Vietnamese folks that had eaten here, claiming that this is the most delicious and authentic Bahn Mi in Oklahoma, my wife was convinced that the #1 sandwich was the top choice and the way to go. A number 1 Dac Biet, it shall be. It was instantly apparent that my Oklahoma version of the English language was not going to get me any food here. I held up one finger, then pointed to my wife and held up one finger again and pointed at myself. Next the drinks. After useless words back and forth between me and the very nice lady trying to understand me, the apparent solution was to just grab a couple of drinks from the cooler. I handed her my credit card she handed me my receipt with a charge for two drinks, and for only one sandwich. So, we did the dance again to get the second sandwich. Vietnamese food is not my favorite of the Asian cuisines. There are a few dishes I like. Overall, I rate it as just OK. Let's start there with a base line of OK or 3 stars. Now this was absolutely the best sandwich I had today! Add a star for that and we are at 4 stars. I have only eaten one other Bahn Mi in my life, that was at Lone Wolf in downtown Tulsa. I really didn't care for it. This was a much, much better sandwich. It would be very honest for me to say that this was the very best Bahn Mi I have ever had! Add a star. 5 stars! Ok all the BS aside. This is a small shop; take out only. We ate in the car. Communicating is a slight barrier if you are not fluent in the Vietnamese language, but you can work through it. If you are not into the bubble tea stuff, drinks are limited to bottled water and a small variety of sodas in the cooler. The sandwiches, are big fresh tasty sandwiches on fresh crusty French bread. And I do mean crusty; the proof is all over the seat and floor in my car. They are a hell of a great buy. I can't over emphasize, big, fresh, tasty sandwiches, loaded with meat and fresh vegetables, stuffed in crusty, fresh French bread for $5.85! That's what makes Viet Hot Bread special. Vietnamese food is still not my favorite, but this was a very good sandwich!

I don't really crave Bánh mì, the craving is for Viet Hot Bread, there are a few other spots you can get a good one that is fairly authentic but this is the real deal in my opinion. I truly love this spot, I am not the biggest bubble tea fan but do like the smoothies they have here as it complements the sandwich well. The sandwiches are filling but if you can save room definitely get an order of egg rolls, these are some of the best around town. The grilled pork rice dish is very good and if you need to get one its not a bad option but the star of the show is definitely the Bánh mì. It is the Vietnamese style baguettes with various meat options with the appropriate picked vegetables. I have had all of the sandwiches and I always get at leas one of the special, this is my favorite so I can have it for later as it tastes good right out the fridge. The second runner up for me is the Chinese Pork this sweet favor with that Vietnamese may and the veggies makes this a perfect combo. I do like the grilled chicken with the egg on top, everything is better with an egg. You cannot go wrong here its the best kind of local spot ran be two very hard working mom and pop duo.

Located in downtown Tulsa, Kai Vietnamese Cuisine offers customers authentic Vietnamese food with a modern atmosphere. The restaurant is the only Vietnamese restaurant that offers a bar serving alcohol. The Vietnamese pho at Kai was delicious. The broth was savory and aromatic. The pho vegetables plate was bountiful. My favorite aspect of the soup was the pho noodles, just soft enough to maintain that springy texture that's so difficult to achieve. The fresh spring rolls were also excellent. Kai does not shy from giving customers jumbo size spring rolls. I also love the hot tea served at this restaurant which uses dried tea leaves. If there's a criticism with Kai, it would be the lack of variety of meats in their combination pho which only had 3 different meats, far fewer than what's standard for this dish.

The accoutrements... onion, cilantro, jalapeños, bean sprouts, rice noodles, and lime wedges allowed me to customize my experience. The restaurant operates similar to fast food chain. Hot tea was served in a to-go cup and not in a traditional tea pot. The pho vegetables plate was small with lemons instead of limes, unlike most other Vietnamese restaurants. The pho broth was sugary sweet. The broth was clear without any hint of grease. For a broth made by simmering beef bones, I would expect some grease inside. The noodles had good texture and the spring rolls were great. For casual diners, Pho Da Cao may be good choice. For me, the quality of the pho is not to my standards.

I had the Vietnamese combination pho as usual. The broth lacked flavors. The combination pho only had meatballs and rare beef. How's that even combination? The pho noodles were too soft. The rice papers used as the wraps for the fresh spring rolls were a little hard. I was not impressed with Viet Huong on this particular visit. This hole-in-the-wall Vietnamese restaurant used to be my favorite restaurant in Tulsa. That time has gone. Maybe, next visit will write a different story. I came back just to make sure my review was accurate. I tried both Bun Bo Hue (my favorite Vietnamese soup) and the Vietnamese pho. The pho broth was the same (mildly flavorful) but the noodles were more firm than last time. The Bun Bo Hue was comparable to other Vietnamese restaurants in Tulsa, but I would say none of them are exceptional. Good luck finding a Vietnamese restaurant that serves exceptional Bun Bo Hue in Tulsa like Pho Cuong in Oklahoma City.

I've eaten the Vietnamese pho at this restaurant several times along with a few other entrees. The pho bowl of this restaurant is too small making it difficult to fit all the pho vegetables inside, especially when they fill the small bowl almost to the rim. The best feature of the pho was the meats which are my favorite of all the Vietnamese restaurants in Tulsa. The broth was okay, and pho noodles were soft without much texture. They always seemed to be out of fresh spring rolls, making me to doubt whether they even have them anymore. Service was very slow at Mekong River.
