Viet Huong is a long-standing Vietnamese restaurant on E 21st St, Tulsa. After many years of returning, I am actually downgrading this once beloved restaurant based on my most recent visit in March 2026. Service was really slow on this particular visit. I had the Vietnamese combination pho as usual. The broth lacked flavors. The combination pho only had meatballs and rare beef. How's that even combination? The pho noodles were too soft. The rice papers used as the wraps for the fresh spring rolls were a little hard. I was not impressed with Viet Huong on this particular visit. This hole-in-the-wall Vietnamese restaurant used to be my favorite restaurant in Tulsa. That time has gone. Maybe, next visit will write a different story. I came back just to make sure my review was accurate. I tried both Bun Bo Hue (my favorite Vietnamese soup) and the Vietnamese pho. The pho broth was the same (mildly flavorful) but the noodles were more firm than last time. The Bun Bo Hue was comparable to other Vietnamese restaurants in Tulsa, but I would say none of them are exceptional. This and another " supermarket " spot in Tulsa are the best pho in town with authentic flavor and a balanced broth. If you enjoy steak don't forget to get a side of rare beef. One of my favorite places to go. The people are so welcoming and attentive, even when they are super busy! The food is always good. My go-to for the veggie/tofu pho, vermicelli rice bowls, spring rolls.. honestly, everything is so good! The ambiance is very casual, around 12-15 tables and chairs that are close to one another for a cozy feel. They usually invite us to find a table of our choosing which is nice. Any time I've picked up food from here, they package it carefully so no spills or leaks and it's just as good as eating in the restaurant. Definitely recommend! read more

Had lunch here with my buddy today. Got 2 orders of spring rolls, I had the Pho. I forget what he got but it looked amazing. Everything was super delicious. So, backstory. I used to come here when the old owner was still around. The food was great, fast and friendly, my go-to spot for lunch about 2-4 times a week. Since about 2013. Unfortunately, the owner passed and his daughters sold the place. It was sad but the new owners didn't change much but then....I got sick from eating there once (maybe 2017/18). Violently ill, puking, etc. It was the worst case of food poisoning I ever experienced. Vowed to never go back. Earlier this week, I was curious if this place was still open and looked it up. Saw it had raving great reviews, the owners remodeled, changed things, TAKE CARD NOW!!!! So, why not give it another shot? Overall, solid 3/5. Bumped to 4 for nostalgia. We entered, told to sit wherever. Takes them maybe 10 or so mins to finally take our order (kinda irritating but ok). I get the small beef pho and a shrimp/pork spring roll. They were both pretty good. Didn't have the original flavor i liked but everything was very tasty. Yes, I will go back again! Delicious food!!! And didn't get sick. It's been awhile since we've been to Viet Huong. We need to fix that. We have eaten here several times. We always got pork bun with egg rolls except for one time when I tried orange chicken. I love orange chicken but that was a mistake. At first, I thought, "this is wonderful! It's so different." Then I began to realize that it was too sweet or something. The first few bites were lovely but that couldn't be sustained. I'm guessing it was brown sugar. The bun and pho is where it's at in Viet Huong. We've never been disappointed with the bun. I love the egg roll in it. Once we were in the mood for bun and Viet Huong was closed. We tried another Vietnamese restaurant and were very disappointed. The bun was warm instead of chilled and it was much smaller. Their bun is the best bun I've found in Tulsa. I'm not sure that is why they have such a high rating. We noticed that the owner is extremely friendly and he has a following. He was walking around talking to his regulars. Some would visit with him in the parking lot. I recommend this restaurant. I also recommend sticking with the Vietnamese dishes, particularly bun or pho. I don't like pho, but I saw many happy pho eaters. There's ample parking in the private parking lot. read more

I'm a huge fan of asian cuisine so I've had my fair share of v-food and I must say, holy cow, this pho is amazing. Stopped in on whim and I love a good hole in the wall spot. Give it a try! You won't regret it. I wasn't in love with the mushroom fried rice, but it wasn't terrible. I'd probably go here for soup alone next time. They have an extensive menu of Chinese and Vietnamese dishes. The Hot and Sour soup was excellent. Very, Very Good! Truly hot and sour, and filled with mushrooms, chicken and other vegetables. And, right now this is the one item I would recommend to get you to try this restaurant. The best thing we were served! The orange chicken was not orange chicken. It was a good portion of chicken that was cut small and fried crispy. It was easy to eat with chop sticks. However, it had very little orange flavor. I found one piece of an orange peel in it. Not orange chicken! The Vietnamese salad with tofu was average. The tofu was cooked just right, light and crisp. Both the tofu and the chicken shared the same hint of fryer oil that need to be changed several weeks ago. The teriyaki chicken was over cooked. The service seemed to be in panic mode. I believe they were shorthanded, so they had some inexperienced fill in help that was doing the best they could. After seeing some of the other dishes they served, I believe the Vietnamese side of the menu is where their real expertise lies. Dang the spring roll is pretty darn legit! Like I could probably do a few of those and some soup and call it a day! I'm going to rate this a 4, but this has very high potential to be a 5! I already see what my next two tests are going to be for lunch and am looking forward to stopping by. The wontons are ok, but I like more cream cheese on mine. Yes, the management has changed, but the pho is still one of the best in Tulsa. Our 5 year old loves pho noodles, requests it often, and here he can house almost an entire large bowl by himself. Most flavorful broth, best portion sizes and ratio of meat to noodles. They renovated during the COVID-19 shutdown so everything looks shiny and new, and they DO accept credit card payment now. They've pared down the menu so it looks like there are less options but you can still request Pho Tai or Bo Vien, etc if you don't want your beef noodles to have ALL the meats. I've been here a few times now; I wasn't super impressed the first time I came, but glad I came again as it has quickly become a favorite for my family. My go to Vietnamese dish is usually bun cho gao and it's tasty here but my fave is their pho. The broth is fantastic. I also recommend the wonton soup. The dumplings are good, but I do wish they had pan fried option instead of deep fried so we opt for steamed. They also have Chinese dishes on the menu and my son enjoyed the chicken lo mein. He said it had a hint of sweetness. Service is good and food comes quickly. They have an extensive menu with many options. A photo book is also brought out which is helpful for us visual folks. Incredible service- Karen, the gentleman who owns the joint, was beyond helpful. This place has only been open w him for just under a year. It's the kind of place you want to be or a regular at before it blows up.
