This place was amazing! The owner was phenomenal with his service, how welcoming he was, the greatness of the food, and how well he interacted with all of us. I am very partial to a place that offers my kids independence and treats them like humans, asking what they want even though they are 5 and 6. As soon as we walked in, he started to speak with us like we were long-time family and treated us as such the entire time. That was just the beginning.. The service was extremely quick and efficient. The owner was very great and attentive with us and made sure we didn't need anything, but also didn't hound us the entire meal. I sadly did not get a photo of any of the food, as soon as it hit our table, it was gone! The food was so good, we ordered the steak and meatball pho, the signature pho, pork bahn mi, and the chicken fried rice. My children absolutely destroyed the rice, my wife took out her steak and meatball pho, and I took out the bahn mi and the signature pho way faster than I would have usually liked because I couldn't stop. The servings were great and more than enough for the price. The flavor was FAR beyond what the price suggests. Out of all the places I have been for bahn mi and pho throughout my travels around the world, this is one of my favorites. We drove over 45 minutes to get there, and just to try the food solely from the looks and the reviews I read. DO NOT sleep on this place, they are far beyond your time and travels. Dan and I got the Bun cha gao. It was tasty. We thought the prices were pretty high. The sauce containers needed to be cleaned. It's mainly a to-go restaurant as the small dining space inside is the least impressive comparing to all other Vietnamese restaurants. The pho and the spring rolls at this restaurant were just okay. The best feature of the pho was the broth. Everything else in the pho was not great. The pho noodles were over-cooked to the point of being soggy soft. The special pho had meats found in another popular Vietnamese soup, Bún Bò Huế. That meats just didn't go well with pho. I haven't tried their bánh mì but that might be the better option at Pho V-Nam. For me, the pho is a pass at this restaurant. read more

My friend and I decided to try this for the first time. First of all the owner was working pretty much by himself, It seemed and he was so nice and funny and just a great person and he made the experience. However, the food that my friend and I both got was just OK. I've had my dish before at other Vietnamese restaurants and it was just so much better elsewhere. Still looking for my go to Vietnamese place in Tulsa. Based on Tuan's review we passed on the Pho and ordered Bun Cha Gao, a dish I've enjoyed many times at other Vietnamese places. It consists of a bed of sliced vegetables and bean sprouts topped with vermicelli noodles, slices of egg roll and chopped peanuts. It's accompanied by a side of Nuac Mam, a fish based dipping sauce. This wasn't bad. Just not as good as others I've had. The owner who waited on us was enthusiastic and quite funny. Our orders arrived promptly. The place could be a little cleaner. The open bottles of sauces on the table had off-putting residues clinging to their spouts. The owner seems to be trying very hard. The quality of food has changed. My husband and I have been coming here for years. A few months ago we saw the regular sushi chef was not here. We are known for our order. Sushi boat for two. Dynamite roll no cream cheese and garlic chicken. The dynamite roll has more like a wrap that's fried. I don't like it. The garlic chicken was overcooked and the chicken tasted not so good and tough. After YEARS of coming here and giving it 5 stars I'm sad knowing this place will probably not last. I could tell it switched hand for sure when I saw kids running out of the kitchen. The sushi chef wiping down tables and well the waiters are very friendly and take care of us customers. It's really sad for me. My mother is Japanese (RIP) and we were stationed in Japan for 3 years. The pho, Was so broken apart and cold that I couldn't even enjoy it. How I came across this place: Many days ago, in the adjacent plaza, I already purchased super disappointing food and moved my car because I seem to always be sandwiched. I parked with this restaurant in view. I decided to google and yelp this place since not every day do you see a random pho shop pop out in the middle of nowhere. I was so tempted to try it but was too scared and more so afraid I'd waste money since I already ate a bit. As more days pass, I couldn't stop thinking about this restaurant of how much people love it and of how it was family ran. Although it was super hot weather-wise, I was craving pho and went out of my way to finally try it and I am glad I did! FOOD: - I always order the meatball pho if they offer it; $12.95 (with tax it's about $14) - omg the soup is the best soup I have ever had in Oklahoma and brought me right home to the multiple pho places in California. You can tell it's legit and full of flavor. Hearty flavor profile. Not thin and not made with powder. - I saw in other pictures that they do provide basil but they did not when I went. They only gave me cilantro. This was the only disappointing aspect because I love basil so much. - owner sometimes asks and sometimes does not of what beverage you will like but it seems most of the time like what I experienced, he immediately puts a refrigerated bottle of water on the table (YOU DO NOT NEED TO OPEN OR TOUCH THIS as he will not charge you! It is $1 but again you do not need to touch it, open it, and drink it and he will not charge you!!) - people were raving about the hot sauce in the reviews and I thought it was just sriracha but no it isn't, this hot sauce has a ton more depth and more flavors than sriracha. You can tell there are a few more different kinds of peppers in it. SERVICE: - in my first experience, only one worker was working and that was the owner - therefore, you have to give him some grace! Imagine running a whole restaurant from taking the order, making the drinks, making the dish, serving the dish, taking to go orders, cleaning up, washing dishes, wiping down tables, etc. - yes the table was stained and sticky but it's only the owner who you can tell is trying so hard - very very very enthusiastic owner who you can tell is so passionate about his culture and his food... love it!! Well, we didn't eat the food because the veggies in the pho tasted old and sour, which is a sign that they probably went bad. Not only that but the Thai tea tasted acidic as well. Amazing Pho place. Welcoming and charming. We loved the owner- he was so funny and my family loved all of his jokes. There was also another kind women working and she was so sweet and attentive. We ordered the dumplings to start- delicious, crispy- hot and fresh. We also had a big craving for egg rolls. Interesting ingredient- never tried egg rolls with turkey. Tasty but super super super super greasy. We did order three orders because the kids wanted more, but definitely too greasy. The pho was flavorful. Mom was with me and wanted a little more meat and the broth to be hotter but she was pleased. My niece got the noddles and chicken. She added a lot of soy sauce to add flavor but enjoyed a good portion. My nephew got the chicken fried rice- he ate quite a bit but it wasn't like the traditional chicken fried rice. Tbh, two stars for me is really one star. But I don't wanna kill this guy's ratings and maybe there's a couple things that he does well - it's just not any of the $33 worth of food that I got. I have been to Vietnam. I have eaten Bahn Mi all over this country. I haven't lived in Tulsa in 30 years and I was really excited to get vegan Pho in this town where I never thought to see either of those things & where the eating was so high: Sad to say I wish I'd skipped the experience. Review is two stars bc the bánh mì was ok. I did not fill bite because one was pork and one was beef but I examined and had a small bite of the bread with the requisite carrot daikon etc. on it. They were in the ballpark not great I wouldn't have repeated either of them but you know, it made my mom happy. The fact that both of those sandwiches were eight dollars apiece, was mystifying. Those were five dollar Bahn Mi, even with inflation. I gripe about paying eight dollars for the perfect Bahn Mi I get back home in Eugene Oregon, because in Portland or Boston or greater LA area this sandwiche perfectly executed ~run between three and four dollars. But you gotta do what you gotta do. The Pho is what made me mad enough to dictate a two star review in my bay from the parking lot. $3 for 6 slide slices of unseasoned tofu. Ok, at least it was warm. $12 for noodles, a handful of steamed veggies & some of the side garnish that is everything: but not basil or the other herb that often comes with pho. It was cilantro. Maybe they ran out? I don't care- that was not $15 worth of delicious . It was maybe fine, not more. This place already has so many stars my tirade is not going to reduce their rating and I do encourage you to go ahead and go give it your own try perhaps if you are a meat eater and like your food kind bland this will appeal to you. We decided to stop by this place for fun after buying boba tea next door, and I am so glad we did. We instantly recognize the owner because he used to be at my favorite pho place on 81st and Harvard. I am glad his restaurant is closer to me now. We were actually only going to order a banh mi because my husband has not tried one before, but since I know I will like their pho, I ordered some spring rolls and spicy pho too. Don't be alarmed if you see thin slices of raw meat when you order the pho to-go. It is meant to be cooked in the hot soup. The beef would be overcooked if he blanched them before you add them to the soup. Thus, please make sure you heat up the soup too. Also, I wish there is more meat in the pho. Pros: we've been back here many times since they opened a couple months ago. Food just like they make in my home town. I love it! I no longer go to any other Vietnamese place. My husband mentioned to the owner that he liked a dish that we frequently eat at a Vietnamese restaurant in Texas several weeks ago. The owner said some other customers had asked about it and now the restaurant is adding it to their menu! Accepts credit cards. Plenty of parking. Cons: price. A banh mi is $7? At home a Banh mi is $1.5-3. But no one else in tulsa is doing Banh mi this good and authentic; so the guy can charge anything. read more

It should be brought separate from the condensed milk and dripping down to it. How do I know you didn't give me a cheap powder if it's like that? This dude said he had a restaurant in Houston and I guarantee he probably couldn't make it there because he cuts corners. His food mystifies people who have never had it and he relies on that tactic because --no offense, it's Oklahoma. People, HES PLAYING YOU. He is exploiting Eastern exoticism to pull wool over your eyes and rip you off. $40 for 2 people is too much for this area and what we ate. The Bay area does not charge this much and that place is expensive. The most nauseating thing was old rice he dumped on the grass in front. It was large piles and is going to attract roaches. The guy was nicer to lighter skinned people. This is something I observe in Oklahoma Asian places, proprietors will appease others but treat Natives and Blacks like dirt, even if they're darker than us. It's like an internalized insecurity and when we speak up, our friends go "well they were nice to me". They know they can get away with it and do it to us because no one usually cares. This guy kept piling on kind of annoying jokes that turned racist at the end to my friend. No you don't get to make jokes about Natives to us. And when we don't laugh read the room and move on. During a recent trip to Choctaw Casino, the buffet had Phó on the menu. Grabbed a bowl and, being cooked be a white guy, it was ok. Wife tried it, really liked it. I told her we needed to find a REAL Phó restaurant so she can experience it first hand. We found Phó V-nam here on Yelp and decided to try it. It's a small, cute restaurant off 71st, "mom and pop" kinda place. We were greeted by, I assuming was the owner. Older Vietnamese gentleman, who instantly won our hearts with his jokes and easy going, friendly demeanor. I can honestly say that was the best bowl of Phó I've ever had. The wife had the seafood Phó, I had the sliced steak. So good, so much flavor packed into each slurp!! She was blown away! I was blown away! You will be blown away. Highly recommend!! I came here March 8, 2020 around 4:30pm. My normal Phō place was closed and I was jonesin for some pho, so I yelped the closest pho place to my location and this place came up. They weren't busy when I arrived. I was greeted by who I assume is the owner and his wife as soon as I stepped in the door. I was helped immediately and he suggested the vegetable spring rolls in addition to my No Meat Pho. I waited no more than 15 minutes. Very quick and the broth was piping hot! The to go serving was plenty big for the price. Everything was enjoyable, and dare I say, this broth was better than my normal pho spot?! The only thing missing was cilantro and I would have asked for no green onions had I known those were gonna be thrown on. Everything was tasty and those spring rolls with the peanut sauce were excellent and I was so full when I finished! I was not disappointed! Their interior decor was nice and the place looked and smelled clean. The only thing they need to update inside are the chairs. I will definitely be back!
