I had a very bad experience extremely rude and unknowable staff. I went to trade some rare Japanese titles and a couple of Xbox games. The guy behind the counter looked at my Japanese titles with disgust as if I was disrespecting him just for bringing them in there. He looked at one of my Xbox games which had a very superficial scratch on it and called it a HUGE NICK.... he then took my complete NES games in the back for five minutes only to come back and tell me that he would give me $6 a piece for them. The nes games I had were worth $40 apiece easy. This experience is just a reminder that video game stores aren't what they used to be they're just glorified pawn shops. I will take my business elsewhere and tell others to do the same. read more

The cheap DVDs at Video Game Headquarters are my weakness. Every time I go in for just one thing, I leave with about 10. I always check to see if they have the DVD or game that I want before going elsewhere because they always have the items at a much cheaper price. Games both old and new(ish)? Check. DVD/BDs? Check. Anime posters? Check. This reminds me of a retro store I loved going to years ago in another state. The Sega Genesis selection of games could be a little bigger. The prices seemed average-to-above average but most certainly not ripping you off. I haven't traded in anything, so I can't comment on how good that is. For my first time stepping in, I am content with this store. I'll most certainly visit it again. read more

Traded in some games...they gave my very fair instore credit amount. Some they wouldnt take because of scratches. And i understand they need to resale these without problems. I was able to get some other used games and a dvd i couldnt find anywhere anymore...realy happy! I feel like some games are priced a little high...but they are all at market value...this is a store not craigs list i understand they need to make profit to stay in business so no complaints here. All in all..i was treated professionaly and the trade value was very fair. I will be back for sure. And spend billions on old 80s movies lol read more

Video Game Headquarters is a dingy little game store in Springfield, Oregon specializing in video games, accessories, and dvds as well as assorted goodies such as posters and Magic cards. My initial experiences with the store were largely positive. The prices are generally fair, and the selection is about the best you can expect without resorting to online purchasing. My issue with the location comes in the quality of the products and the level of customer service. If you have played video games with any regularity for the past ten years or so, the folks who work here are not going to be any more knowledgable than you. I once asked if they had any recommendations for obscure, unique games without a lot of mainstream appeal and the only suggestion I received was for Katamari Damacy, which within the gaming community is very well known and pretty mainstream. My worst experiences however come about in regard to their quality control. I have purchased five used products from them. One game had freeze up issues from the beginning, and a controller I purchased for $40 quit working three months later. Worst of all, I purchased one game that they admitted at the register had circular scratches, as noted in their computer. I took it home and it never worked once. Unfortunately, in this case I lost my receipt. Despite the fact that the game was in their computer system as dysfunctional, most likely accompanied with a date of purchase, they refused to take it back. On another occasion I saw the same employee refuse to return a damaged game from another customer who had only owned it for a week. It is clearly my own fault for losing the receipt, but it would also be my own fault for continuing to patronize a business that takes no pride in the products that they sell to the general public. They knowingly sell broken games and treat their paying customers in a despicable and unethical fashion. I will never go back to Video Game Headquarters. As much as I would like to support a local business, I will probably do most of my game purchasing from Amazon in the future. This place is rad, the prices are fair on games, the trade in value is great, and because they care about quality they make sure everything works before they sell it to you. The staff is friendly, kind and knowledgeable about the games and how they play. They were quick to help when I had questions and offer advice when I was unsure. Overall it was a much better experience than at CD Exchange or GameStop. 5/5 will go back and would recommend. read more

If your looking to browse through old games it's great they're the only place in town with a selection that's viable. Though the last visit I had was not as great, I went in to ask if they had any powersaves action replays in stock for the 3ds. They guy at the counters response would've been ok if he wasn't a guy at a counter. "We don't do that stuff here" he said in a condescending whisper. Now I know people have opinions on how to play games but you shouldn't feel looked down upon in any store by the employees. Just tell me you don't have it, don't give me the "we're better than that here" snarky look and remark. Needless to say it was jarring and left me in a sour mood. Every other store in town was polite and respectful to me when I asked for the device I was looking for. In conclusion its a great place for used games, but customer service can either be good or quite displeasing. I won't go there unless I have to anymore. read more

Easily the best store for used movies, games and new/used accessories and consoles. I visit this shop quite often. It reminds me of going to blockbuster from my childhood, except I actually get to keep the movie or game I purchase. Their stock is in good quality. You'll never get a used movie in bad condition. Their policies guarantees your satisfaction with the condition of their products. You can also trade in movies and games you don't want! Stay away from GameStop, this place is way better. read more

I loved this place for a long time but today they really let me down. I went in there with a some old games and new one's but I bought all the games from them so there policy is that they have to buy it back from you. So at this point they turned me down because they just didn't want them then I tell them there policy witch doesn't seem right that I have to tell them there policy but after the worker gets told yes that they have to take them by another worker who also whispered something to the worker that was helping me he came back and said we can't take them because of water damage to the case ....... it was raining when I went in so a drop got on the plastic cover there was literally no damage at all I mean at all!!!!!!! This place tried to pull one over on me I bet they had too much copy's of the games and can't keep up with there policy so tried to screw me over instead really sad to see. read more
