Having the large assortment of boots helps out for choosing the right one and being able to see it in person, puts this place over online shopping. I like to come here for several reasons. I cosplay military characters, but I also really like collecting military stuff for their historical value. Granted, I could get a lot of the stuff cheaper online, but I like to give the local store a chance first, and if they didn't carry what I need, THEN I'll shop online. The guys working here are also very helpful and have never judged me (at least to my face ) that I'm purchasing things here for a costume. I walked up to the front door. There were two guys standing there and two people standing outside. There was a large man that was working there with a long beard. He didn't even hardly acknowledge me and I standing there, and then I realize the lights were out inside and we could not enter. I asked the guy are you selling anything here? You must pay in cash I said ok! Well, he was selling to another gentleman so I waited patiently. He looked at me. Make sure you can pay with cash only I had cash. Waited another 10 minutes finally he finished. My turn....., but he decided to have a conversation with the customer before me another 15 minutes waiting. Are you going to help me? He didn't even acknowledge me. Please do not patronize the store. They have the worst service, especially the big guy with a beard. All I wanted was a belt how hard is it to find a belt 32 inches! I found that most the things here you can use for camping. There were a lot of vintage pins from the army and navy at a very reasonable price. Everyone who worked there acknowledged us and would ask if we needed help. They had some cool unique things. My son got an army bag at a very reasonable price. Great store I've been going there for over 30 years but unfortunately I bought a bench made knife paid over $200 for it. I thought it was a great knife and then I sent it to bench made to get sharpened and I was informed that it was counterfeit. I'll still shop at the store for clothes and boots and gear but be aware of the knives I would double triple check them against other knives to make sure they're not counterfeit. Maybe someone slipped it in on them or something but pretty disappointing. read more

I have a random need to shop at surplus stores whenever I see one and I've gotta say this is one of the better ones around. Doesn't have the dusty old vibe to it like many can have. More of an actual store with work clothes, accessories, boots, rain gear, tactical gear and forget-me-nots that you didn't know you needed. Upstairs has all of your old be usable camping gear to sift through. You can also get a good price on machetes and foldable shovels when they have them. I saw a man buy 20 machetes once and sent em back home to Hawaii. Located in the downtown area with plenty of parking nearby. Very friendly and helpful staff working here that really enjoy their job. Here is a business I want to give five stars too because of the selection and there were 2 people who worked there who were very helpful. Although there was a third guy there who was really rude, a white guy with a really long beard said a few things that I considered rude and potentially disrespectful. The selection is amazing the prices on items were fair but when my wife asked for help, this white Guy with a long somewhat grey beard was rude to her pretty much telling her to figure it out herself, I did not appreciate that. This is the kind of place my husband looooves , me not so much. We come here and my husband could spend a whole day looking. I would walk around look a bit and go sit in the car. So I thought I'd actually look this time. My dad is almost 80. He was invited by the Korean Government to return an American Veteran of the Korean War. Through the years Dad has lost most of anything that he had to remind him that he was in the service. I came today and found some pins, stickers, hats, and badges for my "ole pops". For myself I found a pair of Swedish military pants. They have a plush liner inside. Perfect for those freezing winter days. Only $20!!! The employees are always courteous, mellow, not pushy, and very knowledgeable. Their inventory is generally full of civilian tactical gear as well as a nice variety of great condition military surplus. The only downside is that I have purchased many items from them over the last eight years and one manufacturer they use a lot, does not stand by their warrantee. I have purchased no less than seven Voodoo Tactical packs, from a tactical concealed carry Fanny pack to messenger bags, convertible backpacks, medium sized tactical back packs, discreet pack, large tactical packs, even the Pretorian backpack that also holds my rifle. With the convertible backpack, after 3 months of use as teacher's book bag for school, an inside zipper pull came off, no amount of trying would repair it. Then, not a month later an exterior zipper pull come right off also, and multiple seam stitches began to pull apart. After 4 weeks of trying to speak with someone in their company I finally was contacted back and they asked for pictures of the broke zipper pulls and their name tag on the pack. I sent them those pictures over two months ago and have heard nothing from them. I do not believe Voodoo Tactical will ever do anything. I thought that buying seven of their items would show them what a loyal customer I am and that they would do the right thing. I thought wrong. , read more
