Office always smell like cigarettes, never answer the phones or have office open. Claim they send correspondence about rate increases yet nothing seems to be changed or "updated". Also have people that cut locks and steal out of your units and when you report over $15,000 stuff missing they can't even be diligent and send over videos from cameras investigators request. Most importantly don't ask for district manager information or corporate. They refuse to give it to you. On top of them having and accessing late fees yet during COVID they should be a little more understanding especially if your husband just gets out of hospital. Congrats U-Haul of Champion Forest you have won "Worst Customer Experience of 2026". It all…read morestarted with me having to go from Kingwood to Champion Forest to grab a trailer that I reserved back in December. For context I made the reservation on Uhaul.com and entered in my tow vehicle and the vehicle I am towing and the system let me book it. Fast forward to March I paid for the trailer and the sales rep was going to meet me in back to hitch up the trailer so I can get out. Then I had the unfortunate pleasure of meeting Ava. The specific trailer I rented was the Toy Hauler a newer trailer with enhanced capabilities vs their traditional auto transport trailer. I was towing with a 2025 Ram 1500 with a tow capacity of 8240lbs. Upon trying to leave Ava yelled at me to stop and began auditing every single facet of my truck. Stating she called the president and everything. She even VIDEO RECORDED me talking. This woman is 110% insane. She then tried to force me to purchase a new hitch rated for 10K lbs when that isn't even a requirement on the U-Haul website. It was clear that he was saving the trailer for someone else and was doing everything in her power to prevent me from taking off with it. I would rather be given a vasectomy by my half blind dog then deal with Ava again. She was rude, standoffish and constantly cut me off when attempting to speak. I eventually said eff it and drove off after calling Uhaul corporate and they confirmed that I was in good order. I will be contacting her boss Robert_Abdin@Uhaul.com to escalate this further. Seriously if you value your time, sanity and blood pressure avoid Ava at all costs. No lie I considered going to spend the money on buying my own trailer to never have to deal with her again. I looked up on my iPhone closest location to me and was listed as 5854 San Felipe and I proceeded there. Once I got there, there was no Penske Truck Rental so I called the Hempstead location!!! The person on the phone told me that she was a manager and that there is no Penske Truck Rental on San Felipe, and that it is not hear problem if I cannot read a map (I attached map from iPhone to this post). I asked the person for their name and they hung up the phone promptly. There might be a million other ways to handle an issue like this such as map is wrong, we closed the location etc. But telling me I cannot read map is just crazy! Needless to say, I will never rent from Penske, and judging by these reviews, you are asking for headache if you do!
