Great food, Great Service, Great Atmosphere. Enjoyed a wonderful Birthday with Dinner at Vicino. The patio was wonderful and the food was fresh and well prepared. Good selection of vegan and vegetarian options. Nice selection of wines.
In the heart of Indianapolis, this is the perfect spot, hard to miss. Great indoor and outdoor atmosphere with fast and friendly service. The food was delicious and a must if you are in the area. You won't be disappointed.
I've lived in Indy my entire life and no where in this city can you get a better weekend brunch than Vicino. And the service is impeccable. Thanks Larry C
Came here with a friend and the overall experience was good. The minute we walked in we were quickly serviced and taken to our table. Our waiter was very patient with us as we scanned over the menu and gave us great recommendations as well! We started with the bruschetta for the table and it was good. Nothing memorable but also not terrible by any means! For our main we decided to split the Funghi pizza. Taste was good but we couldn't really taste the black truffle oil promised. Finally it was dessert time. I ordered the tiramisu and was a bit disappointed. Couldn't really taste anything and didn't really like the coffee caviar on top of it. Overall the experience was just okay.
This place was amazing. I'm branching out to try new things and vicino did not disappoint! We tried several items and I will 100% be back. Their pepperoni pizza (sounds basic) but it was so good! Caesar salad was meh. Crab ravioli and arancini were to die for Friends bday celebration so she got a complimentary tiramisu. Waiter was awesome. Quick service and very clean and nice establishment with Beautiful decor
I went for a solo lunch and the food was amazing ! I sat outside enjoying the fresh air and a nice cocktails. I started with the meatball appetizer...and I would go back for those alone ! 10/10. I then asked my server, my famous question "what's your favorite thing..from each category?" He was very knowledgeable and helpful. He talked the chicken parm sandwich up, and it didn't disappoint! I typically cannot finish all of my food, but this day, I DID!! Everything was so yummy, and I will visit again. I crave Italian cuisine quite often, but I don't just want an olive garden. I'm glad I have found somewhere else to visit !
We went in around 4:30pm on Saturday. The place was pretty empty since we got there early but by the time we were ready to leave, the place filled up. Parking was convenient for us since we were able to grab a spot right front of the restaurant. Food was great overall. We had appetizers to dessert and they were all good. We are looking forward to go back and try other things on the menu.
Cute place had always wanted to give it a try as I love Italian food. Was looking for somewhere with a happy hour special and liked their options. It was fairly empty when we went and we sat outside on the small and quaint patio. Our server was very nice and attentive. My mom enjoyed her lasagna and my burger was okay (3/5) it lacked seasoning on the burger patty. They have happy hour Monday-Friday from 3-6 PM.
Loved the funghi pizza, so good! Had a Blue Tang Clan drink and the name alone is worth ordering it for but the drink was great too. The place is adorable. Elegant yet casual and welcoming. Our waiter, William, was just the right amount of attentive and fun while giving us space to enjoy conversation and food. We'll be back!
We asked for outdoor seating and given table on sidewalk, which was not so great. Ordered spritzers which were good, not stirred. We got Arancini which was our best plate. They were properly done with shell and on a bed of marinara that was lovely. I got the Ragu, which advertised capers and peprocini in the dish... I didn't find them and it was cohesive with lamb and bits of mushroom, carrots and zuchini they add after the long cook, so they have texture. Missed capers. My wife is Lasagna fan and Beschamel Sauced lasagna is something we learned from our milanese family. This Lasagna has a goat cheese variant in it and the Beschamel sauce was just on plate prior plating. Not good. Unfortunately. Server was attentive but they have no floor captains or kitchen runners... so service is stressed. Likely to return for lunches but dinner was disappointing.
Has a girls date here right after work to grab an express martini and fries. What more could a girl want?? The bartenders were fun to talk to and we had such a nice time. Would definitely come back here for a date night or girls night.
First time going here and it has a nice ambiance with low lights and nice decor. The seating is a little tight but it can accommodate a lot of guests. It was pretty busy for a week night so service was just a little slower understandably so. The food was okay and felt a little high for the price point. It was $26 for 5 jumbo shrimp and this was an appetizer. We ordered the calamari, spaghetti and meatballs, chicken piccatta, and steak. We weren't really impressed but if you're not worried about pricing, it's worth a try.

I know this is a new restaurant, so I am more than happy to come back in a few months and try again. That being said, everything was just okay. The service was a little strange with the hosts being suuuuuper friendly and conversational, but our server was not. It was "hello what can I get you?" Didn't feel very warm or friendly. She had a lot of tables, so we didn't really feel like a priority. The place itself though is beautiful! The space is decorated to perfection and the furniture is great! I will say that the tables were organized in a criss cross pattern, so you were sitting literally right next to someone at another table. Very odd that you could hear everyone conversation. The food was okay. My husband got the pesto chicken which was actually delicious! I got the carbonara and I ended up switching with my husband because the pasta was cooked to a weird texture with not a ton of flavor. Overall nothing to write home about, but it be willing to come back in a few months! read more

Vicino is a beautiful new Italian restaurant on Mass Ave. they have a great location and the decor of the restaurant is amazing. The space is gorgeous. You can sit at the bar or near the wood fire oven. We sat at a table near the back of the restaurant. We started with two drinks my husband a traditional old fashioned and I went with the Italian soda. The drinks were alright nothing spectacular and I don't think I'd order the Italian soda again it has cinnamon in it which is very overpowering. We also started with the garlic butter shrimp. The shrimp were huge. The presentation was great. I am leery when it comes to shrimp I noticed they did not clean the digestive tract from the shrimp. I was turned off by this. A restaurant at this caliber you'd expect better. I let our server know and she had it replaced. The shrimp was pretty good. It has a sweeter flavor I expected it to be savory but not bad. I decided to order the carbonara and my husband went with the spicy pizza. His pizza was delicious I definitely had order envy. I was not a fan of the carbonara. It lacked flavor and I didn't enjoy the consistency of the pasta. Our server asked if we wanted to order another drink. I ordered a dirty martini. My drink was served with a bug. At this point I was ready to go. At no point did a manager come to our table to acknowledge the unfortunate situation with the shrimp or the bug. For 130 dollar dinner I was seriously let down and will not ever come here again. read more

Stopped in for happy hour and stayed for an amazing meal! I love a place that offers a happy hour menu that's actually worth visiting. Cocktails are $5 off and glasses of wine were $2-$3 off. We ordered the spuntino as part of our happy hour and it was a lot of food! We had 3 people and still had some leftovers on it. The carbonara was amazing! Everything came out so hot and fresh. The carbonara had great flavor and the pancetta was nice and crispy. The only thing I didn't like was the pepper in the pasta because some pieces were kinda large and you really had to chew the pepper which was very strong! Overall, I really enjoyed this place. I hope it continues to do well! read more

Gathered here with family after an event and it was surprisingly not busy. We were seated so quickly and our food was fantastic! The salmon pizza (I know what you're thinking.. salmon?) was incredibly delicious and the flavors hit the spot. Also, the Caesar salad was fresh, which would complement anything or as a standalone. Lastly, the desserts (especially the mini donuts & limoncello bar) were delicately made. We left super satisfied and looking forward to another visit! read more

The service was great. They were super busy and they still managed to find a table for my boyfriend and I as walk-in. The ambiance was romantic, casual, and a hint of class. The food was delicious. I got the shrimp pasta and my boyfriend got the bolognese. I was full about 3/4 of the way but it was so good I had to finish my pasta. And of course I had to get the tiramisu! But I saw the limoncello on the menu, so I suggested my boyfriend get it so we can try both. With our deserts we also got some espresso Romano; it was a great pairing with the limoncello. Thanks for an awesome dinner, Vicino! read more
Cute little place in Indianapolis. I stopped here before my flight back home for a quick drink and appetizers. I got the flower power cocktail and it was pretty refreshing with a kick of ginger. Beautiful looking too! For appetizer I got the Arancini and it was okay...nothing spectacular. I felt like the outer shell was a bit too fried (if there is such a thing) but on the whole, decent. I then got the Raddichhio and Pear salad and apparently that's new on the menu. Very fresh! The service was very good and the cute bartender was soo accommodating of all my questions. Extra points for him! A great spot to try. read more
I walked by this place every day on my way to the office and had NO idea how great it would be! I attended with coworkers and clients for dinner and we ordered every appetizer on the menu. The atmosphere was like being transported to the Mediterranean and the menu was well curated. Our server was friendly and shared that she is working on her Social Work degree at an Indianapolis university. Will be returning soon with my family! read more
Loved the vibes and service was impeccable! We came in a large-ish group on a Friday night, but did have a reservation ahead of time! May not be entirely necessary though, as it didn't get truly busy until 8pm. I had the scallops, which were great but I do wish there was just one more! We also got each of the desserts: limoncello bars were not super sweet, but were tart, very enjoyable if you don't love sweet desserts tiramisu was wonderful, no qualms cannolis were also great, crunchy and flavorful donuts (bombolini) were good, but they were dense! more of a sharing dessert for sure Zabaglione was fine; not sure what I was expecting but I would bot get it again read more
Very nice interior and location is right in the middle of mass Ave, which is great. The staff was also very accommodating as we didn't like our initial table location and they quickly moved us to a different table. Appetizers: the arancini was very good and the oysters tasted pretty fresh. Caesar salad was also solid Pasta: spaghetti Classico was ehh but the pesto chicken gnocchi was my favorite. Also enjoyed the carbonara topped with egg yolk. Scallops were also great in flavor and cook except one was slightly burnt. Dessert was really the only low point and I honestly probably just chose wrong and might be hyper critical as a baker myself. All that being said, the cake pops were rather dry and the table couldn't even finish them. read more
As Italian, I didn't have great expectations , but I have to say that I really loved Vicino. FOOD: their food is really good. I really appreciate the fact that they say that it's their interpretation of Italian food, which I really appreciated. I also was pleasantly surprised by their spritz! SERVICE: excellent service. The time I order a pizza it came out slightly smaller than what it was supposed to, and they were really nice to bring another one. AMBIENCE: the location on Mass Ave is excellent. Their space and ambience is very cool, well curated and decorated, I really loved the vibes. They also have a nice outdoor patio. Highly recommended! read more
Reservations at 7:30 and seated right away. The restaurant was surprisingly empty for a Friday night, but the food was great and the drinks were boozy and delicious. The arancini were huge , a great portion for a starter. I probably would t get the bread again. Serving size was good but it wasn't anything special. The pizza was spicy and cooked to perfection. Service was great. Our server was attentive yet not over the top. Overall a great experience, and I'll definitely be back. read more
It's been a while since I'd been to Mass Ave, and I was finally able to go back to try Vicino. In short: WORTH IT. Vicino, firstly, has an amazing look and atmosphere. It may be one the best I've visited. If you want to try a trendy restaurant, this is it! Aside from the looks, the service was also phenomenal. Our server was engaged and took an interest in us and our preferences. She was very helpful when making tough choices on the menu. Now to the food. Mama Mia! That's a wonderful little pie! I ordered the pizza picante, but don't be alarmed if you do not like spicy food. The pizza was very mild, and the toppings delivered flavor rather than spice. The pizzas have the perfect crust - thin but crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle. I particularly enjoyed the sauce on the pizza; it tasted very fresh. Before I enjoyed the pizza, though, I was sent to heaven in the form of wonderfully delicious aracini. It's definitely a must for me every visit from here on. The three aracini balls were cooked to a perfect crisp, and the cheesy, dense filling was simple and delicious! I finished my meal with the Portico. This cocktail was a refreshing surprise for its simplicity. I enjoyed the amount of mint in this drink because it did not overpower the flavor of the white port or gin. I really enjoyed my meal and drink, and I will definitely be back. read more

We loved our meals and the service was exceptional. The restaurant is beautiful and the staff was very attentive and fun. I got the blood orange cocktail, caprese salad and wood oven chicken. All were amazing. The chicken was pricey but the flavor was on point and it was a good-sized portion. We shared the calamari and donut dessert. The calamari was buttery and delicious and the dipping sauces were perfect. My only minor disappointment was in the donuts. They weren't terrible but they were a bit doughy. We both wished we had taken the servers suggestion and gotten the cannoli instead. read more

I would 100% come back just for the arancini and cocktails. They did an amazing job with the inside, chic and "instagramable" place. They also have a bar spot if you're just popping in. Great list of cocktails and can make others off menu. We only got appetizers and desserts. Bolognese meatballs & bruschetta we're good! Just something I wouldn't get again, wasn't "wowed" like I was by the delicious, mouth drooling arancini. We enjoyed our drinks and atmosphere, will be back to try the entrees. read more

I went here on a Saturday right when they opened. I was alone so I sat at the bar. The vibe of this place is so fun! It kinda feels like a place you would find in Chicago or a bigger city & I really enjoyed it. I got the caprese avocado toast and when I say it was absolutely incredible.. like WOW. I actually have been looking for something like this around the city. I know it's a little simple but it is SO GOOD. I'm not sure I'll ever get anything else here. The service was very nice and quick. Love this place! Can't wait to take people here. read more
Visited Vicino for brunch. It's a beautiful space. Excellent choices for brunch including breakfast pizzas, omelettes, paninis and more. I had the cannoli waffles which I was afraid would be too sweet but were perfect. The sweet cream mixed with pistachios and the side of fruit were great. I had an iced coffee but there were plenty of drink options. I will need to go back for dinner soon. read more

Fantastic new Italian restaurant in town! I have been waiting for years for something to open in this corner location and Vicino fits perfectly! The restaurant itself feels classy but hip allowing you to either dress your best or go for more of a nice casual vibe. There is a section with a full bar and then numerous tables for dining. In terms of food, you do have to pay for a side of bread but it was worth it! You get seasoned oil with amazing garlic butter for the fluffy almost focaccia-like bread! For my meal I got the Pesto Chicken without the chicken for a vegetarian option but there are a lot other veggie and vegan friendly options from pastas to pizzas. The gnocchi itself was so flavorful and crispy but soft and fluffy on the inside. I did remove a star because the portion sizes were small for the price point. Overall I will definitely come back here for a girls night out!! read more

The brunch menu is pretty tasty. I've been twice now and have enjoyed myself both times. The servers I've had have had good suggestions and the food comes out pretty quickly. Drink menu is really good too. Their version of a espresso martini ("baristo"... I think?) was fab, and the Italian Soda was great too. Everything is a bit on the expensive side but the quality is good and let's be real, it's Mass Ave. I will be back - ive heard the pizzas and the pesto chicken pasta is to die for! read more
Disclaimer: newly opened restaurants take time getting optimized and perfected. Will return and update my review soon. Ambiance: 5/5 - gorgeous! A treat for the eyes. Drinks: 2/5 - my Roman cocktail was not enjoyable and unbalanced. Very heavy on the spicy bitters. Husband fine with his Italian old fashioned. Ordered Prosecco instead of a second cocktail. Food: 3/5 Arancini was incredible. Another reviewer was annoyed by the mushrooms, but it's called out in the "fungi" detail on the menu. The paired sauce was so good. Pizza was pretty good. Spaghetti Classico was very good! I'd order that again. The carbonara was oddly sweet and under salted. Service: 5/5 Our server was wonderful! No complaints. read more

Great new restaurant. First time here. Delicious Italian food. We had the bruschetta and spaghetti with meatballs. Good portion size but not too much. The best was the Bombolini dessert-- Nutella donuts. Wow so good! My friend tried the tiramisu and loved it as well. Server was delightful but honestly lingered a little too long at our table and interrupted conversation a few times but you could tell she meant well and really cared about her service. The restaurant has a very cool vibe and interesting artwork on the inside. It is a vibe. I highly recommend this place in the heart of Mass Ave. read more

Very solid spot! I loved the menu and loved how they freshened up the space. Pretty quiet for brunch on a Saturday at 12:30, but I noticed lots of parties outside on the patio. Our group started with the arancini as an appetizer and a round of drinks - the espresso martini was great! There was something on the brunch menu for everyone and plenty of vegetarian options. All Italian-inspired. The caprese avocado toast I ordered was one of the pricier options ($18) but was extremely filling with the addition of the mozzarella and poached egg on top of a thick slice of bread. Will definitely return to try the dinner menu, but pretty happy to add this to the brunch rotation. read more

This place was good! I really liked my sandwich. the chicken was not dry at all, the quality of the bread roll was good, and the balsamic glaze was the cherry on top. It wasn't life changing but a solid place to try for lunch. read more

I sat at the bar by myself and really enjoyed chatting with the bartender, they were super nice and service was great. Food was delicious. Had the caprese salad, the carbonara, and the tiramisu to finish. It was also super cute inside. He suggested a nice mocktail that I enjoyed as well. Didn't grab a picture of that this time, but I'll be back! read more

Vicino is quite the find on Mass Ave. The menu is excellently crafted with great variety, not filled with fluff. We started with Bruschetta. Fresh tomatoes. Lite and crisp. I chose the scallop dish. They were prepared perfectly. Great seasoning. We had tiramisu and the donuts for dessert. Both delicious. Our server was nice but seemed a but new as they had some issues pronouncing items and seemed nervous around the table. The space is great. Can't wait to come back. read more
Had a great time. Came for brunch and got the chicken sandwich, Italian beef, and margherita pizza. The Italian beef was so seasoned and tender! Our waiter was in a good mood and thus gave us great service! He was polite and gave great recs. The espresso martinis are sweet and so was the waiter. love the decor inside. Will be back. read more

Service was great, vibes were aesthetic, and food was amazing! We had bruschetta, caprese salad, lasagna, and Margherita pizza. Would order all of it again! The star of the show was absolutely the espresso martinis! Favorite ones in Indy so far! And I got a complimentary birthday cannoli read more
