Coming from SoCal, I'm limited in the options in NorCal, but I was hopeful about this location until the end of my service. I went in for a deluxe pedicure and a dip manicure, and at first, I was greeted with a friendly face and mimosa, so it felt like home. But after my experience, I'm back on the hunt for a location to provide the services I'm looking for. After two days, my nails chipped. I hate it when you get dip nails, and they use a gel top coat to finish it. It never lasts. It was the same in OC and LA, so it's not just up here. It was pretty basic, but you definitely can't call it a manicure if you didn't do anything but barely polished my nails. And even asking for it to be cleaned under my nails was a hassle. I had three different people working on my nails to finish, and even then, it was unsatisfactory. The gel top coat also made it super thick. My pedicure was barely a pedicure. I was excited about the massage, callus remover, and paraffin wax, but the person that did my pedicure just slathered on products and left it there. And the polish is very bumpy on my toenails. I don't think it was worth the money. I can't complain, since it's still much better than the prices down south. All that was forgivable and maybe worth another shot to come back for a better experience, but after four different people working on my two services and can't seem just to do a simple clean up of my skin and under my nails, one of the ladies proceeded to speak in her native tongue to be super unprofessional and tell her coworkers that I was just trying to start shit. Little did she know, that I understood and spoke the language. Nothing irks my nerves more than getting a relaxing service but being greeted with shit-talking in a foreign language and mediocre service. So ridiculous. read more

I rarely write reviews but Vibrant Nails is amazing. Not only do they do really good work, my daughter had her lashes done there and a few fell out a few days later so I called to ask if they could fix it. They made her an appointment with no questions asked, we just went in and they fixed it plus added more. They look amazing and they did not ask for any more money. I am very impressed and will definitely go back and recommend to any one that asks me where to go! read more

Definitely recommend, especially for UC Berkeley students because it's so close to dorms + campus since the 51b bus takes you right in front of it. Quality of my full-set acrylics was great. The store itself is very clean and sanitary on the inside. Only downside is that they don't have all colors displayed in their book-demo thing (but it isn't a big deal). read more

Got my lashes done here on friday and got a pink eye. the flumes from the lash glue was burning my eyes. Don't believe the lash lady when she said the glue was for sensitive eyes. I get my lashes done often enough to know that is not normal. She should've used a different glue after I have informed her about my eyes tearing up. Only putting this out there because our lash techs should be informed that certain glues have more flumes which can cause inflammation in the eye. My eyes are still watery after this session. I hope she changes her glue supplies and ensure it is not expired and uphold cleanliness and sanitation of the salon. read more

Just got an ombre overlay and gel removal and Kevin absolutely killed it. The service here is always so amazing. From offering drinks to asking about your day, this is a really solid place to go to. They're also really gentle which I love of course. It came about to $55 which isn't terrible considering how much work Kevin put into my nails! read more

Great salon. I have very short, bitten nails that need a lot of TLC. Recently, I decided to try a full set of acrylics to help me stop biting them and so far, it's been working! I've been getting french tips in different colors and it makes my hands look so much more feminine and professional, while still looking natural. The nail tech has even helped me figure out how to adjust the acrylics to my lifestyle. Earlier today, we shortened them a bit so I can still play guitar ( it worked :-] ) The staff is great. They greet everyone who walks in and keep the shop looking clean and beautiful. They even offer water, tea, or a mimosa. I've been getting my nails done by Kevin for some years now and he never disappoints! Any nail inspo I show him, he's able to either replicate it or tailor it to my liking. Shape & thickness is always perfect and Kevin is extremely detail oriented. I love his attention to detail for each individual nail design. Overall, the salon is beautiful. I came here about a week ago and my nails have all already fully chipped. One of them even started to fall off and I'm super disappointed. They do your nails good at first but it doesn't last long as my nails began to chip after 2 days. As you can see in the photo, The chrome i had before is barely there anymore and its patchy and ugly. So it was a pleasure to get my nails done here today. This salon was formerly Elmwood Nails and is now under new ownership and is a whole new place. They did a beautiful remodel of the space and got all new equipment so it is effectively a whole new salon. It looks wonderful in there and they got all new pedicure chairs and manicure station. It seems like they have invested a lot into the salon and it shows. It really is a spectacular change. I had my nails done by Mia. As usual, I had a ripped nail. She was able to repair that and my nails came out great. They have all new polish here and they seem to be using Opi Nail Polish. I plan on going back for a pedicure to try out the new chairs. Anyway - I highly recommend this salon - it is aesthetically pleasing and they deliver the goods as far as the manicures go. I plan and continuing to go here. Awesome! read more

I don't usually get my nails done so it's pretty rare when I do (usually special occasions). I always pass by this place on my runs and decided to give it a try after looking on Yelp. TLDR: Affordable prices, street parking I walked in on a Monday morning and didn't have to wait! My acrylic set took about 1 hour 10 minutes. My nail tech was really attentive to getting the dead skin around the sides which I appreciate, but multiple times it would hurt and also had the sides bleed a little bit twice. I know this happens at nail salons especially for nail acrylics, but it seemed to ring an alarm for me more this time compared to the several times I've gotten my nails done before. Still a 4 star review because $50 for acrylics in Berkeley is reasonable (I have paid $70-80 before) and I did appreciate her good intent of trying to clean out all the sides of my nails for me. I really like the outcome (I showed her a pic before) and glad she was able to sculpt it so naturally + at a perfect length just like I asked and wanted! read more

My friend and I made an appointment the day of on a Friday and they were extremely accommodating and told us to come back an hour later. I looked through some of their colors to see if there was anything I would like and I decided to go with a sparkly design done with a magnet on Gel-x extensions. They were really quick, the process took about an hour and fifteen minutes. It was also fairly affordable compared to other places! They charged me $65 for the set, not including tip. read more

They had the perfect gel and color that I was looking for when I came for a walk-in manicure. They sat me immediately and offered me something to drink-water or mimosa! The woman who worked on my nails seemed in such a rush, I was in and out within 30 minutes. Gel was applied unevenly, some nails are a lot thicker than others, when I left I noticed there was cured gel on my fingers and had to pick it off. I asked for just an ombré from my natural nail color to the pink color I chose but it didn't come out too well-she mostly just applied the pink on the tips of my nails without blending. I definitely want to try this salon again!! I really do hope next time they take their time with my nails because I liked their gel color selection and the shop is super pretty inside. read more

We had two reservation set for 6 and they didn't see us until 6:30- 6:45. Someone pointed it out best but they really do ignore people of color. When other women who were white walked in without reservations, they attended to them immediately. There were no apologies for running late. I wanted a hard gel manicure and my nail tech tried to account for a faster process by opting not to give me a full manicure with my cuticles trimmed or hand massage. It only lasted for a week and a half. My mom's nail tech was very lax with her pedicure and hardly removed the dead skin on her feet. She ended up doing it herself at home.
