I give this shop a 5/5 for coffee and truly the amazing VIBE. It is sooo cute inside - definitely a go to spot for a yummy cup of coffee while on the island. The food wasn't too impressive, more so if you're not used to the acquired taste that is vegan food (mostly my dad and brother were not fans of the food). I had the vegan loco moco and although it had good flavor, it wasn't my cup of tea. Overall I LOVED their coffee and especially the healthy "latte" alternatives that all had amazing flavor combos. Can't get over the decor. Go here for the delish caffeine kick!!! read more

Vegan Egg Benedict I love this place. When I read the reviews with the lower than 5 stars, I can just tell intuitively that the people writing those reviews are whack. This place is lovely. Our waitress was real and authentic. I don't want fake people making or delivering my food. Real energy only! Even if it's a busy shift. The world is full of fake woke robots...I'm grateful to have found a real kind spot with yummy food I can eat and feel good about. Keep up with good work, ya'll. Real recognizes real. I needed to get a gluten free meal for a coworker. They make gluten free dishes in Hilo!! Checkout this place!!

Always delicious and fresh- a favorite spot. So cute inside and the food is wonderful.

I want to like this place for their food Their interpretation and presentation is very nice representing the breakfast nacho with vegan alternatives of eggs, cheese, cheese sauce along with the gluten free chips and black beans. The egg alternative had great texture similar to a tofu crumble but when I got into the plate the overwhelming amount of salt made it an unpleasant experience I was further disappointed when my lavender latte was served which took quite a long time to make and ended up being luke warm at best Maybe they should stay with the fresh fruits and açaí presentation and reevaluate the seasoning used in their vegan interpretation of other dishes read more

Soooo delicious! We got everything pretty much! The avocado toast with bacon, egg with chili flakes was amazing and fully loaded. The tomato crudo was delightful with the perfect amount of balsamic. The Rueben was also amazing. Drinks are a must get! Had the matcha pumpkin spice latte, strawberry beet latte, blue majik latte, and the iced protein latte all were fantastic! read more

Stopped here on our way out of town, great location on the highway near airport. Don't know if I'd notice it absent Yelp. Spouse got an acai bowl, I had caffe late. All good. Service is a single server who does it all, and someone in the kitchen. The bowl was amazing, with passion fruit, papaya, coconut, and other fresh fruits. Really fresh and good. Highly recommended. read more

Popped in for an açaí bowl, which was really good. We were in Hilo a year ago, and Vibe had the best salads. Their current selection is more limited, but hopefully they will ramp it up in the future. read more

Super cute, quick, healthy spot for breakfast. The açaí bowl and service was 5 stars! Highly recommend the golden turmeric latte. 4 stars because the sourdough Avocado toast was anticlimactic- on more of a bun than sourdough toast and it had no seasoning. read more

Best pastrami sandwich ever!: not too much meat, nice fresh greens and fresh sourdough bread

From a 5 star to a 1 star... if you look at my photos before this drinkin love called Bad & Boujee is not the same! Make sure you ask for one of the first employees as this drink is nasty now. All your drinking is syrup. I am disappointed with the customer service now compared to a few months ago. You have to ask for your own plates, water, napkins and utensils. Maybe it was an off day but worse customer service ever. Hate to say it but I don't think I'd wanna come back if I had to grab all my eating supplies myself. Make sure you bring your own napkins and plates read more

I saw a lot of amazing pictures at VIBE and was super excited to try this place when coming to Hilo. However, it was not exactly what I was expecting. The workers were nice, and told us that there would be a long wait for our food. I didn't mind waiting since we were there already, and she let us sit at a table outside. The inside of the restaurant looked very clean, and I liked the style of it. Vibe had a lot of vegan options, but honestly the food was overpriced for the portion size. I had the vegan beet "poke" bowl and also got to try the vibe breakfast toast and the vegan jackfruit "pulled pork" street tacos. I felt that some of the food lacked flavor. The beets in the poke bowl weren't really seasoned, and the only thing adding flavor to the poke bowl was the mayo. I do appreciate the quality of ingredients though. I had a bite of the breakfast toast. The fake meat had a weird after taste. The street tacos were okay, just a little spicy for me. Overall, the food wasn't horrible, but it could have been more flavorful and at a more reasonable price point for the amount of food given. read more

This place is a nice break from all the other food options in the area which can feel a bit alike. Really enjoyed the jackfruit tacos w/ a GENEROUS serving of fresh guacamole & a tasty spicy sweet mango sauce! I also thought the passion fruit cider & yuzu beer were incredible- appreciated the unique selection of drinks here. Service was super friendly. NOT the "vibe". If you want five star prices for one star food this is your place. It took 40 minutes or more to make two sandwiches and a smoothie. I can't speak on if it's incompetence or negligence, but there's an issue somewhere. They didn't even apologize or try to do anything to make up for this massive wait time. Save your money and go literally anywhere else. read more

We stopped in here while we were on vacation in Hawaii because I was specifically looking for a place that was vegetarian friendly and on the healthier side. Boy, did we hit the jack pot when we stumbled upon VIBE. We walked in to a light space, and there was even a live band playing in the corner, who were quite good. They have a spacious bar you can sit at, as well as seating inside and out. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The entire time I was in there all I felt were positive vibes. The food we had was really good too. I really appreciated the BBQ "brisket" sandwich, as the meat replacement was pretty novel and I thought tasted great. I also tried their toast of the day, which I found to be very filling and also very tasty. My husband got the beet salad, and I was impressed at the portion size. We also enjoyed some bubble tea. I would certainly visit this place again if I were anywhere near the area. Very pleased with our find! read more

The perfect first meal in Hawaii, sitting outside in the breeze and warm sun and sippin' away....Mmmmmm... Herbivores is a great spot in Hilo and is a vegetarian/vegan heaven. There is a lot of variety for both food and drinks and it's a HARD JOB to pick. So get one for everyone and share. The food was scrumptious and the burger was divine! The jackfruit tacos were yummy, but could have done with some more moisture. But the mango chutney that was served with the burger and chips came to a glorious rescue. The prices were pretty decent! My piña colada was amazing! read more

Vibe Cafe is an aesthetic spot. It's fun to be there, with fun music, art, and even a few local pieces you can buy. We stopped by for a late lunch and some coffee. I was very hungry, so the wait was a little much for me with the few people that were in the shop. I loved my coffee. It was really delicious and came in a glass jar which is always fun. The food wasn't my favorite. I say that knowing I ordered the wrong thing for me. What my mom ordered looked tasty. Next time I'm here, I'll have to try it again and order something more desirable! read more

"Good vibes only" is their motto- but for me it was "no vibes found" I walked in to this cute little place. I did not see that they were strictly vegan and had no meat whatsoever. While I could eat here, mama was craving some meat or fish in some capacity and the protein craving was real! I still waited and tried to give the place a chance. I had to find my own menu, the sat at the bar. After 5 minutes without anyone noticing my existence I chose to walk out. read more

If you're vegan and wanting to try loco moco, this is your spot. I ordered the vegan tofu breaky-scramble, and my boyfriend got the loco moco. We also had coffee, which was average. I enjoyed the tofu scramble, but unfortunately the toast that came with my meal was dry unless I slathered it in butter. The gravy for the loco moco was savory and well made, but I'm not a big fan of the beyond burger it came with (just personal burger preference). Overall, the meal was filling but not too heavy, and I would come back if I were in the area, but wouldn't go out or my way to visit. read more

it was our first time here but we were extremely impressed. I got the lavender lemon drop and hubby had a beer. We wanted to find a chill place to grab a quick bite and some drinks- this place had what we wanted. The menu is 98% vegan but don't let that stop you from coming. We got the nachos (spicy) and it was amazing! The jackfruit was cooked in a way that was spicy and tasty. I'm usually not a fan of nachos but I think these are my favorites. The cashew butter and delicious- everything was fresh and a the chips were so crunchy yet not oily. Hubby also got a vegan burger- It's my jam- and he loved it but ate it so fast I couldn't even take a pic. we will definitely return here! read more

Loved the food and service! My husband and I tried their food while heading to the volcanoes NP, totally worth it. The vegan eggs Benedict was great and fulfilling, my husband loved the avocado toast. We took the wings and brisket sandwich Togo. God vibes only! That's their motto. The food preparation was good and flavorful. We ordered beet latte and a cordyceps mushroom latte for drinks. Both were rejuvenating. The breakfast toast with scrambled tofu and the vegan eggs Benedict were prepared well and the portions were quite filling. For someone who is worried about finding vegetarian or vegan food in Hawaii, there are plenty of options and and Vibe is a perfect breakfast place. They open early too. So before you embark on your long day to one of the national parks where food options are limited, vibe is a perfect pit stop. read more

The price is way too high for the tiny serving they give. They can't even make a Brazilian Lemonade the right way. Super disrespectful pricing with all this fancy decor just to give you probably the worst drink you're ever gonna drink and slap a $7 price tag on it. Mostly Ice too. Probably a whole 2floz of drink you get. I'm never going here again, check out Lemonade Honey Hawaii instead It's way better. read more

First time on the Big Island and Vibe made the list as we were searching for places to check out during our stay. First all the GREAT things: the service was great, the wifi strong, and, of course, the VIBE was great. The only thing that I was not totally sold on was the food and coffee. Now, this could certainly be because I am not a vegan, but both the drinks and food were not quite my cup of tea. To be clear, not bad tasting, but just not awesome to me. GENERAL NOTE TO DEMANDING TOURISTS: If you are going to be impatient, please go to the beach until you can breathe a bit or go somewhere less local. Do us all a favor, and keep the snide comments and complaints to yourself 'cause locals have enough crappy environmental and cultural tourist impact to deal with as it is. Staff at so many places are overworked and struggling, so the last thing they need are ugly tourists being, well, ugly. read more

This spot is excellent. The cafe is currently open for takeout and dine-in (outdoor and indoor). It's order at the counter. We tried the following dishes: Cheesy Pesto Pasta (4.5/5): Very tasty pesto dish. Incredibly cheesy, so be aware if that is not your taste. The pesto was really flavorful, and came with meatless chicken, which was also very good. It also came with a side salad. The portions were very large. Fiesta Taco Pizza (5/5): This pizza was amazing. Comes with a chipotle black bean base, mozzarella cheese (can be made vegan, but we got it veg), jackfruit, and a number of other veggies. It was a very tasty pizza, and I would highly recommend this pizza. I also got the ginger mint limeade, which was very tasty. Overall, I would highly recommend Vibe if you are in the Hilo area -- absolutely worth a stop. read more

I found this place through Yelp (duh!) and stopped by here on my way to ITO. I was already semi-full from all the unexpected smoothies I had consumed on my run along the Scenic Route but *had to* come by to try their Vegan Loco Moco. Let me say, it was totally worth it!! Knowing that I wouldn't be able to finish, I asked them to pack up half of my entree so I could take it with me on my flight back to SFO. I wish I wasn't already so full so I could try more things but I'll just have to save it for next time. It was really such a pleasure to visit Vibe as this place and their employees live up to their name. The girl who took my order was super sweet and very passionate about plant-based living and ecology. I noticed there was kombucha on tap (yes!!) and lots of CBD products, crafts, tinctures, essential oils and goodies for purchase. At the corner of the main bar, there is a small tray offering free stainless steel free of charge. You can take as many as you like and leave a donation of any amount. Apparently there is someone going around the island leaving these straws in restaurants on a mission to reduce single-use straws. If you happen to see one, be sure to get one of your own or as a gift to cut back on landfill waste! -and leave some funds for the kind soul doing this to help support the cause! As for my vegan loco moco, it totally hit the spot after my 8 mile run in the sun. The "egg" was a slice of seasoned tofu over a veggie beef patty sitting on a bed of brown rice covered in mushroom sauce. I've never had traditional loco moco as I already had stopped eating meat by the time I visited Hawaii so I won't have anything to compare it to... but on its own, it was super tasty! Thankfully I had the other half to enjoy on my flight back home. A side story.... I had flown from ITO to HNL, then had to transfer to a different airline to fly home. While in the shuttle in HNL, I was met with a couple who had to-go containers in their hands. They asked if I had brought my takeout with me all the way from Hilo, which I said yes. I jokingly said they wouldn't be interested in my vegan loco moco but then it turns out they too had stopped by Vibe on their way back from Hilo too!! What a coincidence!! It looks like there are more vegans around how cherish delicious food the way I do. So much in fact they would carry it all the way home from another island! Vibe is definitely worth a visit!! read more

I had originally posted a less than enthusiastic review after our visit here. The service was solid but the food didn't wow us. I'm unable to remove the review entirely as I had hoped to, so here's my updated revision. The owner responded in a constructive, receptive manner, greatly appreciated, always. Spoke to a friend who is a frequent customer, and they insisted their experiences have been overwhelmingly positive. Since anyone can have an off night, I'll assume that's what happened here. Furthermore, when I managed to leave my hat behind (a gift from a friend with tremendous sentimental value), they very graciously offered to ship it to me and refused to allow me to pay for it! Now THAT'S customer service. 5 stars for that all day. We'll give Vibe another try on our next visit. We really did love the drinks. And now I'm in their debt. read more

Vibe Cafe - This is the world's saddest salad. - Cafes Near Me - Hilo, Hawaii

The quality of this place has been going down, they have been reducing the portion sizes using other ingredients that doesn't taste like it did before, I ordered a açai bowl and they gave me a frozen one previously made in a paper bowl and topped it with fruits like it was freshly made, o I have ordered lots of açai bowls from this place before and it always came in a glass bowl. I question the waitress and she said she does not know but it's only obvious when you dig into it halfway through eating this my throat started feeling sore. Will not be recommending this place again nor coming back. The portion sizes is NOT WORTH the amount you pay for. Tables are always dirty, oh and the mask the waitresses uses is cosmetic, it does not provide any protection. There's spit go right through it, it's so transparent. Be careful! read more

Place is cute and food is good but poorly operated business and the customer service sucks. I was visiting from out of town and I wanted to support a local business so I ordered sandwiches, salads and smoothies to go and this place says they don't carry straws, nor takeout disposable silverware because they don't want to carry plastic...there are plenty of sustainable straws and silverware if this business chooses to be eco conscious but not having any silverware for to go orders is just simply unacceptable. Not only that they didn't fulfill our order and we never got our sandwich which we ordered. They also didn't give us any napkins with our to go order and when we called them they tried to tell us how they weren't responsible for not providing any napkins, silverware, and not giving us our sandwich. It seems like the people who work here are stoned and are completely not in tune with customer needs. I wanted to like this place but unfortunately I had a bad experience. read more
