I was leaving Hilo to return to Honolulu and my son took me to Just Cruising Coffee. They have drive through service that goes both ways and it is always pretty busy in the AM. Though it is strictly drive through service there are no widows here. The girls just walk up to your car for your order and the walk up again to give you your order. I don't know what kind of iced coffee I had but I loved it. I just told my son to order what him and his wife were having, it was a good move. Might be a morning ritual for me to come here before my flight. Definitely coming back. read more

A lot of places aren't open on Sundays in Hilo, and I'm so glad Just Cruisin is. Their drive thru line was fairly slow on a Sunday mid-morning, but I don't mind waiting for their quality food. My friends and I all got some form of the Mac nut pesto. I got mine in a salad, and I really enjoyed the dressing it came with. The Mac nut pesto topping was super flavorful and light. I was able to stop at Just Cruisin coffee before going to the airport. Be prepared to wait if you don't call your order ahead of time the service took a while, around 30 mins. It wasn't too crowded but when I first passed the other day on a Friday it was crazy busy. I definitely would recommend trying to go on a weekday and get the chicken Mac nut with pesto sandwich and the macadamia nut milkshake! The mocha Frappuccino was really exceptional. I had the chicken macadamia nut sandwich as well and it was not bad it would be better if I had added avocado and may be if it was offered on a croissant. They have two drive-through's and the people working there come out to your car to take your order. So the line goes fairly fast. My dogs were in the car with me and they started barking at the girl when she came up to the window so she walked away and tried a couple of times finally my dogs chilled out and she was able to take my order but I really appreciated how she was patient and persistent. Okay, this little gem in downtown Hilo is the place to get some really strong coffee. The only issue was the whipped cream on the outside of the cover, I mean it's typically 80-something degrees everyday, even if it's raining; so it melted and went everywhere! I should take a star for that, but honestly their coffee worked to give all of us a boost of energy to continue working on things for my moms service. They also had breakfast sandwiches and bagels which were fresh, hot, and delicious. If you're ever in Hilo, I highly recommend checking this place out. read more

The sandwiches are on your choice of bagel. I choose the veggie sandwich but added bacon on Asiago cheese bagel. The sandwich is immense with generous portions of lettuce, avocado, egg, cheese, tomato and onion. The bagel is fresh, soft and chewy. So good. The mocha coffee was perfect-not too sweet. There are no tables, but there is a park close by that you can stop and eat. The staff is friendly but got one of the sandwich orders incorrect. We did not want to wait to fix the order. Honestly, really good drive through coffee at a reasonable price. Normally this type of coffee in Waimea side costs $10-12 for a 12Oz since it's flavored latte (I got Nutella) with almond milk, but for $6-7, I say it's worth. Nutty, with slight sweetness from the Nutella syrup (had to ask for less sweet and extra shot of espresso). A good ratio. Came in the morning, and there was a bit of a line in the drive through , but goes by pretty quick. Faster than the line in Starbucks that's down the street. Not pictured here, iced matcha latte: Really good, dare say similar to the one I get from Starbucks.
