trendy decor, and tasty enough food, but I'm not vegan. the acai bowl feeds an army but drains a wallet. staff very considerate, let me use the WiFi for like an hour, and even gave me recommendations and directions. read more

We came upon this eatery by total accident. But love it so much we came back the next day. The service is some what forgetful. Which is interesting being that they weren't busy during the times we arrived. But the food made up for it. My favorite dish was the beet "poke" bowl. OMG, so onolicious! My husband had the mock local moco. He loved it! Our drinks on both occasions came some what after the meal was served & almost completed with some reminding. But like the food it was all forgotten after the first sip. Definitely worth the time when in Hilo. read more

Oh my god the food and drinks were so good. Even if you're not a vegan this place is the jam. Highly recommend any of the burgers and the nachos. read more

This is probably one of the best places I have eaten on the Big Island. Everything was so fresh and the staff was so friendly and happy to see you. The true meaning of Aloha is found at Vibe! read more

Great surprise for vegan food in Hilo. We had the jackfruit tacos and beet poki bowl. Both are outstanding. Staff is friendly and helpful with choices. Plant based diet or not, stop in and give it a try you won't be sorry. read more

This place was recommended by a friend so I went to try it out for breakfast. It's conveniently located right off the highway just minutes from the airport. You walk in and the VIBE is super cool. The decor is modern, simple and pleasant. I ordered the Morning Spliff. It was a tofu scramble wrap with cashew cheese and black beans. Also came with pineapple fried rice. The wait was longer than I expected. There were 4 or 5 other parties in there at the time. I think it took about half an hour to get my take out. The staff did offer water while I waited. I was pleasantly surprised with the portion size for the cost, which was $10. I was expecting the tofu scramble to be a little more scrambled. The tofu was mostly just chopped chunks. I planned on sharing it with my baby, but it was WAY too spicy for even me, which I wasn't expecting based on the menu description. So I was hoping that the sweetness of the pineapple fried rice would balance it out, but it didn't quite turn out that way. There were pieces of pineapple in there, but I couldn't taste it at all. The sauce that was used was overpowering the other flavors. The rice itself was a little mushy for my liking. It was an okay fried rice, but didn't taste like a pineapple fried rice. They have a good variety of menu items, so even though my first visit wasn't spectacular, I'd probably give this place another try maybe for lunch. read more

Went there a few years ago and it was good. Ordered the nachos and they were inedible. They clearly used Costco tortilla chips that were stale, the cashew nacho sauce was ice cold, the jackfruit was in huge chunks and also really cold, it was just a hot mess. For $18, I would expect better. read more

OMG, I just ate the tastiest, the juiciest, probably the one of the best hamburgers of my life. It was just so delicious that I can't get over it. I would never believe it didn't contain meat if I didn't know that this was a strictly vegan restaurant. The funny thing is that the night before I had a hamburger at the Hilo Burger Joint and honestly it wasn't that great at all. You guys at the Vibe rock! So I am not a vegan myself (yet) but I definitely try to limit my meat intake. I love trying out vegan places. This one is awesome. I highly recommend to both vegans and non-vegans. Here is a note to the owner. I don't live in Hilo, but I come to visit often, almost monthly. I passed many times by the "Vibe" place but I would NEVER go there if it wasn't for recommendation from a fan of yours Donna M. I thought this was some sort of a drug paraphernalia store, especially that it is right next to a vaping business. Please, please add "Health bar" or "Vegan restaurant" below the name you have displayed. I am certain that many of your potential customers also get a similar impression. Thank you Donna for the recommendation. This place is amazing. I am definitely a believer! read more

Nice vegan place with few Jain options. We have vegan avocado toast and vegan caprese toast, which both were made Jain. Good coffee too!

As someone who works in the service industry, I VERY rarely write a bad review, but dear god...The worst cafe you could possibly imagine. I'm genuinely not sure what was worse the blaring techno music, the $15 microwaved McMuffin, the water with a drop of espresso they think is called an Americano, or the unfriendly and generally unhelpful customer service. read more

Really great service and good atmosphere. However the food and drinks were really meh. Maybe it's what I had which were the nachos, but unfortunate because I really wanted to love this spot! Also, the online ordering system for takeout is infuriating. They don't take phone orders, so I ended up just eating in. read more

Love this place. Positive people and clean innovative food choices. I just became a number one fan! First time I came here was love at first bite in August and now that I returned again I feel compelled to get my good vibe! Every time I arrive I let them pick my meal. Today was eggs Benedict and pineapple fried rice. I also tried a new drink called lavender latte! Omg it was so good! Every thing is just right, the service, atmosphere and overall vibe makes me love my life more.... read more

Ok first of all I want to say that Hilo got game! I'm from Oahu where I fell like we have some really great choices for healthy food. The Vibe cafe on the Big Island really impressed me! It's my new go to spot in Hilo. If you're here for breakfast get the Vegan Loco Moco! Comes with a plant based patty, mushroom brown gravy, and brown rice. It was soo Ono! I Especially loved the presentation of the Loco Moco and that is was nice and hot! For lunch I had the classic vibe burger which comes with a plant based patty, lettuce, avocado, tomato, onion, sprouts, white cheddar, on an organic charcoal sourdough bun. Everything was really good at the vibe. Nice friendly staff and ambiance as well. Can't wait to try more items from the menu on my next trip! read more

Nice vegetarian/vegan spot. Small but not crowded. Staff were pleasant and willing to answer any questions we had about the menu. Ordering was easy and we didn't wait too long for food to come out. We had the jackfruit Nachos and Philly cheese steak. The nachos were a home run the sandwich not so much. Maybe next time we'll try the Vibe burger and lasagna. The ginger mint lemonade was refreshing. The chocolate charcoal infused cupcake was delicious. The lavender icing was a bit much and tasted like perfume, but that's lavender. read more

Update: Went again and this time I took my husband. He is in love with Vibe! Yay! We tried the jackfruit tacos this time and also had the burger again. Just so yummy, y'all! And the service is great! Was very excited to bring a friend to try your place for the first time (both from west side of island). We left extremely disappointed. I work in the service industry And I totally understand everywhere is short staffed but we walked in and asked to sit at the bar the server said.." I guess"then continued to roll her eyes, ignored us and had a bad attitude. Definitely not a vibe. We left without even getting water or ordering a drink. read more

If you like gluten and wheat this place is for you. If you are allergic to or need gluten-free steer clear. They also use a lot of GMO meat alternatives that I do not eat. 95% of the menu either has Morningstar & Beyond Burger (known to contain GMO) or seitan which is pure wheat gluten. It was really hard to find anything I could or wanted to eat after they told me they were out of the one dish I like that is GMOmeat alternative-free and wheat-free, the vegan beet poke bowl. So I ordered a $14 vegan locomoto. Because I didn't want the GMO Patty I asked for a salad. So for $14 I got a scoop of white rice (the menu says brown but when I ask about it I was told "we don't have any brown rice at this restaurant") a VERY small piece of tofu "egg" and a small amount of mushroom gravy. When I asked for more gravy they charged me $1.50 for 1.5 tablespoons of literally, cold gravy. The side salad was nothing to speak of and the dressing way too spicy it hurt my stomach. Last time I had the nachos and they were mostly GMO chips & much too skimpy on toppings and vegan cheese. Their lemonades are just Costco lemonade with added nice super foods. Why can't they make their own homemade lemonade? Lemons are easy to find on island. Why use plastic packaged, sugar lemonade shipped from mainland?? This place keeps disappointing me. I don't plan to return. Bummer because I would like to support a vegan/vegetarian/locally-owned spot. read more

We were in Hilo for the day and did a quick search for the closest vegan restuarant in the area. We found Vibe and had to hit it up. Nice atmosphere. Very modern with a diner- new age vibe. A good mix of patrons. Staff were very pleasant. I ordered their classic vibe burger. I eat alot of Beyond Meat burgers and this one came pretty close to the flavor and texture. It was good. Their fresh lilikoi lemonade was also really good. Love that freshness. To finish off our lunch my wife and I shared their Mango ice cream. Loved it! Creamy and flavorful without the dairy! When I come back will definitely order it again. read more

Visited there recently. Talked to the server and the manager. They said they have gluten free food but can't take care of cross contamination. I asked them to toast the bread in a pan (as they have shared toaster) but they said they can't do that. Further they mentioned that if I get food and didn't find it to be gluten free using Nima, they wouldn't be able to refund it and advised me to eat somewhere else. They do have some muffins from a dedicated gluten free bakery which tested gluten free with Nima. However, they were ridiculously over priced ($6.5/muffin). read more

Awful food knowledge and overall terrible experience. My partner picked up food from here. He asked if there was any nuts as he is deathly allergic and was told there was none in the Caesar salad. Got home and opened up the plates to find something that appeared to be nuts so we called to confirm that there were none and was assured it should be safe. My partner took one bite of the salad and started having an anaphylactic reaction. We had to go to the ER room to get treatment. Not only did he spend 70 dollars on some food that he could not eat but had to pay for hospital bills. read more

SOOO my boyfriend and I were on vacation to the Big Island, and flew in through Kona. We had gone zip-lining in Hilo and before driving back to the west side, I looked up Yelp reviews for local healthy spots since we are both from LA and health freaks. This place had mouth watering food photos. This place is exactly as advertised. Employees were friendly and helpful. I loved my tofu scramble since I LOVE breakfast day and night. My boyfriend, who I force to eat vegan food gave his stamp of approval! Definitely would drive back here from the Kona side! read more

Second time here and not disappointed. Delicious and plentiful! Lavender lemonade was refreshing and the vibe is unmatched.

Happy to have a great sit down restaurant in Hilo I can recommend. Their breakfasts are worth it! Vegan and tasty :)

$10 avocado toast. Listed as being non sour dough bread topped with olive oil salt pepper and micro greens. Instead got 2 slices of what seems like basic sandwich bread, a thin layer of smashed avocado and sprouts on top. The worst. I got this when they first opened and it was delicious. This place has gone downhill! On top of this, no one was wearing masks in that small room and the staff had them down on their chins. Terrible. read more

Stopped in with entire family. Everything we asked about was either not available or waitperson didn't know what it was. They were rude and my daughter in law asked a question and the employee reply was "duh". Really unbelievable. If I had to guess I would say it was discrimination as we didn't fit the "vibe". Can't remember being treated this poorly in a long time. read more

I love vibe!! The ppl who work there are so kind and they have the best coffee!!!!! So awesome to have a vegan friendly neighborhood café.

Aloha, I frequent Vibe Cafe & im sad to say that I can no longer support this establishment. I saw a total of FOUR employees not wearing masks in the kitchen and behind the bar. I work at a restaurant myself and don't really understand why it's so hard to comply with covid guidelines? I was extremely upset seeing this. Food handlers should know better. read more

Great food and drinks. Fresh and local feel. Friendly and accommodating to dietary needs.

I'm a fan of Vibes' food, but have avoided in person dining due to COVID. Up until today, it's been several months since I've been inside the cafe. Normally I order takeout ahead by phone, but wasn't able to this time as the business' phone line stayed busy each time I tried to call. Ended up having to order my food at the register and had to wait a good 40 minutes before it was ready. Not a huge deal given it was clearly still lunch rush and I made sure to keep my mask on the whole time. The seating at least was arranged so that guests were able to appropriately social distance. Outdoor seating options were also available. However, while I was waiting, it was disappointing to see at least 3 staff in the kitchen preparing food with no mask on whatsoever. The 2-3 servers out front had masks on, but only 1 of them were wearing them properly. I work in healthcare. If this is the standard we're saying is acceptable, COVID is going to be around a long time. We have been fortunate on the Big Island to keep our case #s low. We cannot get complacent. It's all of our kuleana to mask up. read more

Great place to eat! I'm on the Whole 30 food program and the pea protein burger with smokey nut cheese was wonderful! The "pea protein" was a bit of a cheat I think, because I'm not supposed to have legumes, but it was a wonderful cheat, and since it was pea protein, maybe not even a cheat. Anyway! Enjoy the ambiance, the food and the staff! It's worth a visit. Oh, and the tea with CBD shot is good too! read more
