Worst manicure ever! Nails "looked" nice when I left. When I got home I noticed acrylic all around my cuticles and the tip of the nails are not attached and apparently lifting. I have been going to this nail salon for almost 2 years but lately they changed the staff and it is not the same. They are always rushing, doing things with little care. The last 2 times I did my nails in VG, the lady pushed the drill against my nail really hard to remove the polish faster, burned my skin!! More than once. She laughed saying she was sorry and very busy. Nails chipped faster than they used to before, nails looked decent but my fingers were destroyed full of hard product around my finger tips (dripping product that dried up) she was very rough the whole time. Filing my nails like it was a piece of a wood!! Hopefully they can realize what they are doing and slow down a bit. I need to say that there were no clients after me when doing my nails. I've been going to this salon for years. About a year ago the staff changed at the end of 2023 and the new person running it- is hit or miss. Started out great with her and I liked how she was doing my nails the first few months. Sadly, it's become worse with her and I noticed this. The perception she continually gives off is perceived as her being mad at the world from the look on her face, and then it is confirmed by how rough she will be with your fingers. Forget it if someone walks in without an appointment, she'll tell them 10 minutes, while you're sitting in front of her with your nails that are half done that will take way more than 10 minutes and then you can just sense the urgency and the speed picks up and what should of been a nice nail job turns out rushed and not relaxing. She's very rough and cutting me with harsh filing doesn't feel good and the way she has spoken to me if I say something I'm not happy with is appalling! Last appointment I decided I am done paying to feel so uncomfortable and unhappy with receiving a sub par manicure from someone mean just isn't worth my time or money. I called ahead, but still waited some time because one of the workers was running late. Therefore the first girl got started on my right foot, she did well. I was passed off with my left to the one that came in late and she was rushing. My nails on my left are slanted. She didn't even bother to check my right foot to see what was done by her "sister". I had to ask her to recut my cuticles in my hands because it was so sloppy. Then she cuts WAYYY too deep. The filing on my hands is also uneven. The thickness of the coats are terrible, and waiting for my nails too dry is taking forever. She didn't even give it a second for the first layer to dry before slapping on thick coats of the second and 3rd. I'm going home to re-file my own nail. Probably will have to repaint my own nails too. I didn't get their names, but the one that rushed and was sloppy has longer hair. read more

VG is a no frills nail salon in Silverdale with a sweet staff who provide great service. I've had a few gel manicures & regular pedicures here and have been pretty happy with them! The gel mani is long lasting and they take direction well. (I love oval shape and had to give a bit more to avoid round) Love the massage chairs, big windows and natural light, and dig that they often play cheesy romcoms :) They also seem to stay on time in terms of appointments, which I appreciate! read more

I got acrylic nails here; a few weeks ago and for $95; I might as well just went to my trusted nail salon place in Gig Harbor but I was in the area, and checked out reviews and they seemed really great, so I trusted them with a complex set of acrylics; The outcome was horrendous, they told me they didn't have a very dark grey; so I asked them for a very very dark red/ maroon; However that wasn't what I got, I also didn't get the shape I wanted, They asked me before they shaped them; "Almond shaped?" I disagreed and said "no, just like the picture... Stilettos." she nodded and started cutting them and shaping them; I was waiting til she was done cause' maybe I would judge too early. But that wasn't the case; it took them 3 1/2 hours to do my nails; which I didn't mind; I was waiting for my hotel to be ready, So I had quite a bit of time to kill. The shape wasn't right when she started to paint my nails; But I didn't want to restart the process since it took them 2 hours just to lay the acrylic out, I would be there all day if I would've. Then the lady started painting my nails; and told me about them not having the color and i opted to compromise. I didn't see her lay down a base coat; and she started painting my nails A BRIGHT BRIGHT RED. I started freaking out in my head, and I decided to not say anything because they had 2 other people waiting to get their sets done as well. I wanted to be courteous of other people's time and their's. I thought it wouldn't look that bad with the design; But they completely messed up the design as well. I walked out of there and just immediately started bawling; knowing i'd be stuck with a design that looked like I was promoting the Spider-man series for at least a month until I'm able to get into another nail salon. I called them 30 minutes after i walked out and gave them a tip (it's courtesy for me to do, because I know they tried and with all the time spent.) and told them "I would like a nail polish switch, and I wasn't happy with the design." They were sweet, and offered to get me in at 4 or 5PM the same day but I had plans and had to check-in to my hotel then, and told them i'll be able to come in tomorrow, and asked if they could do 11; They redid my polish for free and gave me a $10 coupon for the next time I come in, Which was sweet, it's not really my speed though , I love having my nails looking sharp and having a complex design or something on them. So to anyone who's looking for a lot of detailing, etc on your next set , I wouldn't recommend this place; However The staff is sweet & understanding; If you're looking for a simple design, or plain color with almond shaped nails; this place would be for you. and for the ladies who work there; Please please please tell your customers if you're unable to fulfill your customers requests. read more

So I just moved to the area recently and it's my first time getting my nails done since i've been in California. I was thoroughly reading reviews because the last couple for this place aren't very recent but they did a very good job and i'm super happy with how my acrylic nails turned out. I made an appointment that day for 12:30 and they were very nice when I arrived. And they placed a cute movie while I was getting my nails done so that was nice. I think a lot of the reviews here said something about them being overbooked and busy and rushing through nails and though i will admit that a lot of appointments were being made over the phone as I was getting my nails done, I wouldnt say my nails were rushed through or the people around me from what I could see. I called at 4:00pm and they got me me in right away. I got a full set done with acrylic dip powder and a regular pedicure with gel, although they do offer a deluxe pedicure. As far as Covid restrictions, I needed to take my temperature and give out my contact info at the door before being seen, and face masks of course. They have a huge color selection, price was fair and I love my nails! I came in and Anne was the only one there, she is very friendly and I had fun getting treated by my man. She had on a RomCom with Jack Black and Cameron Diaz so I was entertained while she did my nails. Her sister face-timed her during the manicure and she introduced me to her cute niece while multitasking. She was almost finished when two girls came in wanting full sets each and she even called in her sister (I think) for backup. Unfortunately i really wanted to love this place. I got a dip polish and eyebrows. $78.. spendy.. my nails looked great when i left the salon and that's about as long as they lasted. I got home that evening and my pinky nail already chipped. It's now been 4 days since my nails were done and i have 4 nails completely chipped up. The way they apply your dip powder is like nowhere else i have ever been and it obviously doesn't work.. the ladies working were all very nice but unfortunately i will not be returning. Went in for a pedicure and the lady was rude. Water was cold and she didn't turn on the jets. When I asked her 10 mins later after if she would add some warm water and turn on the jets she said "yea! I said give me a minute!" Then she handed everyone else the back massage remote and when I asked if my chair had one she said "I guess I can set it up". She scrubbed only one foot, then applied one coat of white paint and left the salon without saying anything. I won't be returning! read more

Not the best looking salon with older chairs and decor but the girls there are really nice and gentle when doing your nails.

I came here on a whim because I saw that they were having a special on eyelash extensions. I've gotten extensions before, but they are much too expensive to get regularly... I truly wish I didn't choose this place. Here's the things that went wrong: 1. I called and scheduled an appointment and when I showed up on the day of NO ONE knew of the appointment that I had scheduled and just asked me what service I wanted. At the start of the appt that didn't really bother me since they were able to see me right away anyway. 2. The condition of the salon was really iffy. Didn't look very clean and when she brought me back to the room there was clutter and baby toys blocking the walkway and floor. The table was covered in a towel which I HOPE was washed after every new customer. 3. When I finally got on the table and started getting the eyelashes applied, she tried to put a guard over the lower lashes, but kept failing to do so. She ended up not putting them on at all, which caused my eyelashes to stick to the bottom lashes and RIP them out during the procedure. I mentioned multiple times that I was in pain from the pulling and she just said "sorry" and kept going. 4. It BURNED so bad! Because she had to keep pulling my lower lashes from the top ones, she kept opening my eyes slightly, which caused the glue to get in my eye multiple times. It was SO painful to the point where I couldn't even open my eyes. She said "this doesn't usually happen to other people"... well DUH! They probably have their eyes closed for the whole procedure! 5. When the application was halfway through, another girl entered into the room and started talking and rummaging through things in the room. It was uncomfortable because I couldn't even open my eyes and see who was in there. 6. It BURNED FOR DAYS! I could hardly drive home because it was burning so bad, but was told that it would subside when the glue fully dried. It burned for 3-4 days after the procedure and I had to throw away my contacts because they had DRY GLUE on them! 7. I followed the care directions and didn't get any water on my face or steam for 2 full days and they started to fall out within 2 days after the application. I even took cold showers and didn't let the water touch my face at all. I sleep on my back and did not rub them. It's been a week and all of them are gone except for 3 individual lashes on my right eye. 8. It ripped my lashes out. Some of the lashes were not applied properly and ended up being painful. Turns out multiple lashes were glued to a SINGLE natural lash. My lashes are much more sparse than they were a week ago. In conclusion, I wasted so much money on this and will never return. You get what you pay for. Be warned. read more

She was very gentle and the techniques she used were designed to avoid any painful contact with my fingers during the grinding. Usually I have to file down leftover rough edges. I made a mistake and thought I could save some money on my highlights... Five hours after sitting; I got the worst brassy-red-not even a balayage color. I walked out with my hair dripping wet I was so upset. My scalp was burning I wish she was forward and I told me she (Ann) couldn't achieve my request.
