100% would recommend the Sugaring Service to anyone interested, especially if its from Amanda! Absolutely my go to, amazing personality and honestly probably ruined other sugaring salons/spas for me (tried other places when I was temporarily out of state). During the winter I just do a Brazilian Sugar but oh boy I cannot wait till spring/summer so I can incorporate the Full Leg Sugar again, Amanda does such a good job that I literally WANT to spend my money here. As for availability, pertaining to sugar waxes, definitely try timing it. I don't know if Amanda is just that popular/well booked but I have yet to be able to schedule an on the spot appointment for last minute planning (not that I need to much since hair needs time to grow anyways). As for the Salon, brought my grandmother with me on a wax appointment and she really wanted and needed a haircut so they took her in on the spot, which was awesome! In preparation for my vacation I booked a perm at Seaport Salon, The stylist did a great job wrapping the perm, was timely etc, she suggested the rods to use to give me a curl perm~unfortunately I rated them before I realized the perm was going to disappear a little bit after every washing, I did not realize I needed to call them within 48 hours if I had a problem with the perm, kind of hard to do that when i was told not to wash my hair for a couple days, oops the 48 hours would be up, I lost my $185 + tip and I have nothing to show for it. Beware if you go there, read the waiver they have you sign also, appears they have themsselves covered and have to do NOTHING for you to fix the problem. read more

Seaport Salon & Spa has been the ONLY place I went to for waxing. However, after my experience today I will be looking for a new place to take my business to. 1) I knew that Seaport required pre-pay online for appointments, which they are the only ones to do so. I went online to make my appointment and discovered that their website is no longer secure-so no more paying them online. But I called and got a same day appt over the phone-no pre-pay required. 2) Parking- the construction is winding down so this is better. 3) Check In- They have a new automated check in right by the front door, which was easy as the receptionists were way to busy kissing up to the customers that were paying almost $300 for something (I couldn't tell what they had done for that amount of $). But, even with an appointment I had to wait 15 minutes, while wandering around looking at shampoo bottles as there is no seating. 4) The room- I am so disappointed to see how low their customer service has fallen. The room was HOT (open a window or use a fan!), the comfy tables are now covered in industrial vinyl only (even hotter and sticky), so dimly lit I don't know how she could see to do her job properly, was not allowed to touch the mirror to check if I was satisfied-had to look at myself from 3 feet above while she held the mirror (weird), and I felt rushed through. 5) The Check Out- I did not see tiny piece of paper taped to the front of the desk saying Seaport "Had to raise our prices", so it was a shock when the final bill was almost DOUBLE what I had paid the last time I had been there. The receptionist felt she had to give me the canned response when she saw my shocked look. "The cost of our supplies has gone up.", she said. For what? Melted wax that sits is a warmer for days and is used on multiple customers??? I understand a slight price increase, I see it literally everywhere, but not that much. Goodbye Seaport! read more

I really wanted to give this place a higher rating, but as a spa and facial enthusiast I can't. I scheduled what was supposed to be a 2 hr facial according to their online booking the evening before since my regular spa was booked out for weeks and my skin need a pick me up. Couple of flags to consider before scheduling: You have to pre-pay for your services. Most higher end spas generally require a credit card to book. But pre-paying for a service is tacky. I booked a spot from 9-11am. (This information will come in handy later) No where on the site, or the booking confirmation did it explain where to park, or that they had construction going on in front of their building. I arrived 15 minutes prior to my appointment as I do for all spa treatments to have ample time to change and fill out necessary paperwork- they were not open for me to come in early. No facial robes are provided. Even when I've had facials at the Euro Skin Institute in Renton (a school for estheticians) I was provided a facial robe. The room was cold and thus you get my drift. A bedsheet was used to cover me, not a weighted blanket or down comforter like I've had in every single facial I've had in the past 25 plus years. Nor was a pillow for under my knees offered for comfort after laying in the bed which was not as comfortable as one would expect. No skin analysis was performed under light or under the facial microscope. My facial called for extractions, and none was performed. The esthetician looked a my skin in dimmed lighting to make an assessment- another . My facial stared at 9:20 and ended at 10:32- I paid $125 for a 2 hour facial and did not receive it. If you are looking for a relaxing spa experience, I'm sorry- I can't recommend this place. The construction noise outside (I get they have no control over) would be helpful for them to let their spa guests know. I've lived in Kitsap for 14 years and really wanted to give this place a try. I'm disappointed to say the least/ but at least now I know. read more

Everytime I call to make an appointment they have a new excuse as to why they can't make that appointment. I've been trying since December to get booked for 2 of their Bliss packages their excuse then was that they didn't have nail technicians so they told me they would ask their manager if there was something to substitute the mani pedi they ended up never contacting me about it again so my friend asked and got the same response. Then we decided to get massages instead just a massage. back in December they never mentioned that they have staffing issues. Now they're telling me that they only have one masseuse and that we'd have to do it back to back. Ladies, if you are seeking a hair stylist who LISTENS carefully and is an exceptional colorist, I highly recommend booking with Megan. She helped me a few times fix things that were not right and she fully understood that my "mature hair" didn't take color as well as it used to. She had to "glob" the product on --and finally I didn't need to return for another fix. And as such, she became my "go to" stylist. When I wanted to find a safe, yet still attractive way to grow out my gray, she worked her magic. My manicure was a day ago. Where do I begin?....first of all, the acrylic on my left middle finger is horrible. She went so far past the smile line on all of my nails with white, that now my nails look like pieces of Chicklet gum on my fingertips. All of the edges at the smile line are very rough and jagged, and some are not even completely painted from edge to edge. I was told over the phone that a French gel manicure would be $37, but then I was charged $50. If they were charging me extra for the one acrylic, they should have said so over the phone when I made the appointment. I was very forthcoming with them, and expected the same. I've never been charged extra anywhere else I've gone. I thought by the description online of the salt scrub and aromatherapy that I would be pampered. But it's not exactly "pampering" when you have to salt scrub your own hands and then wipe them clean yourself. I could have done that at home for free. I'm so disappointed by this experience, I wont be back. read more

Not a great experience. I was open to a new trainee cutting my hair, but she didn't seem very confident with curly hair. My haircut came out pretty uneven and I had some pieces that were 4-5 inches different in length. I have been going to this spa for two years now. Whenever my skin needs facial I always give them a call to schedule an appointment and they do their best to accommodate me. Recently I decided to give my hair some love and hairstylist Jennifer was really awesome. she listen to everything that I said. I showed her some photos to give her idea of how I want my hair to be done. In the end we decided for a balayage and I love how my hair turned out. Recently had my hair cut and colored here. Haven't done anything to my hair in over a year (I have hair trust issues), so it was a pretty big deal for me. The cut came out beautiful. I absolutely loved it. But the color just wasn't what I asked for. I showed the stylist a picture and she said we could totally do it. After she started blowdrying and styling my hair, and I was confused, because the color was still off, but I figured she was just seeing how light it was (This is the second time I've ever had my hair colored at a salon, I had no idea), and then she stopped and said we were all done. I wanted to tell her "It's not even done" but I couldn't bring myself to say it. I didn't want to hurt her feelings or anything. I paid for the cut/color with tears in my eyes because I spent a ton of money on something that I didn't ask for. I'm just bummed because I showed her a picture of the color I wanted. I told her all over blonde, and my hair was super light brown with blonde highlights to start with. But she basically touched up the highlights and that was it. I've been to Seaport multiple times for eyelash extensions, and I was excited to get my hair done here. The stylist was very nice and friendly, but I'm just very disappointed in how it came out. I scheduled my appointment yesterday on their online website, prepaid for my service and received an email confirmation. I came on time today for my appointment and apparently my stylist called in sick. I get it. Everyone gets sick. Although, the woman at the front desk claimed to have called me several times and concluded I put my phone number in wrong when booking my appointment. I get it. May have been a finger slip. I didn't receive an email she had also claimed to have sent me. After getting refunded, I double checked my booking info and sure enough, my phone number was correct. The thing is that I've worked in high end salons for years and I've had to cancel a few appointments for stylists because life happens. Never did I once blame the customer for wrongdoing. If they wanted to find an excuse for canceling my service, they should have done more research to find a better reason for not contacting me. Better yet, is honesty even hard to ask for? read more

I have long hair and a lot of hair stylists see my hair as a blank slate but Inga REALLY listens to me. I always get exactly what I want!! I absolutely LOVE this place! I first started going to Seaport Salon and Spa about a year and a half ago and I've been hooked ever since. As soon as you walk in everyone greets you with a smile and offers you tea or water while you wait. The whole atmosphere is very friendly and relaxing. The services are all wonderful as well. I have a few things that I go back for regularly and then a couple others that are nice luxuries. Christina the aesthitician is one of the people I see all the time and I make sure to ask for her every time. She is super friendly and remembers what you talked about in your sessions and asks about it when you come back. She's very patient if you're getting something waxed and will make sure you're comfortable before she does anything. The facials are sooo relaxing and your skin feels great afterwords. Make sure if you get a facial you get the products she recommends, they really work! Nikki is the other person that I keep coming back to. She's the master designer hair stylist here and she does awesome work. I've had her take my hair really dark with a longer style and now we're working on getting it lighter with a shorter style. The color work always looks great, very shiny and healthy. The cuts are usually better than I hoped they would be and I always leave with some extra confidence after she's done with me. She is really funny too so you won't be bored while you're sitting in her chair! Everyone else is great too, they all remember my name and just make it a great experience. I absolutely LOVE this place!! The atmosphere is fantastic, the staff is wonderful, and the location that you can look out of is simply stunning in its simplicity! The place is located in downtown Silverdale, whisking you away from the modern world for a few moments in time (nothing medieval about it but I suppose the historic value of the early 1900s adds a little charm). The building is a small two-story structure that's painted in a seaworthy blue and white trimming. When you walk in, you are welcomed with a pleasant aroma displayed by the Aveda products in front and the inviting laughter and chatter of a plethora of women. I was greeted by the staff and received a glass of water with lime, I believe (my choice of beverage). For my first time, I had set up an appointment with Angela for a one hour chakra balancing massage. I used to go to another massage parlor but the prices were starting to become a little too high for the meager budget I had. Anyway, Angela and I went up this small flight of stairs (shallow steps for those who have leg or feet problems-a definite plus!) where above was the massage and facial stations. All I can say is "WOW!". Everything just felt so relaxing-the atmosphere, the decor, the colored hues...perfect. Simply perfect. The massage was great (she has a definite professional touch) and it was time to pay up. Now this is where their customer service was amazing: I had forgotten my wallet at home and I was starting to panic at the front desk. They were very attentive and reassured me that I could go home and come back to pay. I was SO grateful! No cop-calling, no glares; it was all smiles and reassurance. So I came back to pay then set up another appointment for a stress-fix massage. I highly recommend getting the stress-fix massage! That massage targets all stress points and the smell is just superb! I bought the bath salt and calming fusion oil to be used as an exfoliator at home and it leaves my skin feeling smooth and smelling fantastic! For as long as Seaport has been around I was surprised to see there was only 18 reviews.... I have utilized many of their services from massage to pedicure and manicure. Everyone there is pleasant, and I enjoy listening to the other employees interact with their clients but I wouldn't use anyone else now. The interaction I have during my appointment with Renita is amazing. It's like an afternoon with an amazing girlfriend who remembers what you said the last time you were in and you pick up from there. Stellar performance. Bravo! On the massage and nail services. I love how the massage area is sectioned off from the bustling salon into it's own upstairs oasis. It was a nice quiet retreat. On the nails - again; sanctioned off so you have a retreat like aspect... my only dislike....the request to not play with my phone while in there. Beyond that. The nail work was perfecto. read more

Seaport Salon and Spa is an Aveda concept salon. I think it's safe to say I've been a fan of Aveda products for more than half my life. I was 13 when I first learned about them. I'm 26 now, so that's about dead on. I've moved a lot over the years and dread going through the process of finding a new salon whenever I move to a new city. So here I am in Kitsap County and I could tell from the looks of this place my hair was going to be in trouble- No way could this area be progressive or hip enough to have an Aveda salon. Luckily I was wrong! (As a side note there are actually plenty of progressive, hip folks in the area, but I let a few first impressions cloud my view...) The thing I love most about Aveda salons is their consistency. I know whether I walk in a salon in Atlanta or Silverdale, WA (of all places) I'll be welcomed with a friendly smile, receive a complimentary consultation, get a relaxing scalp massage and leave with a style I'm completely satisfied with. Basically you can't go wrong. The salon is clean, bright and comfortable. The gal who did my hair several times left earlier this year to pursue other interests. I haven't been back since she left because I have loyalty issues. That and I'm afraid to commit and fall in love again only to have another stylist leave me in the frizz. This place is a total joke! I called well over a week ago to set up my appt, I explained to the receptionist that I needed a FULL foil retouch, tone and cut. When I got there the stylist said that I was booked for a partial foil, no tone and no cut....wtf? I asked what we could do about it, she said noththing today. I was fuming mad. The stylist knew this and did nothing, did not offer to comp me and or anything else. I walked out and she didn't even say goodbye. Back story, I wrote this place off a year ago when they did this EXACT same thing. I love aveda so after talking to some friend I decided to give them another chance. I will not be so dumb again. I am in the salon industry, I know how to explain the appt so they can book appropriately. Yet every time they drop the ball. Don't waste your money here. A really great, Aveda salon. Everything is very well organized and clean. I was greeted and checked in promptly. Refreshing orange water and trail mix provided as you wait. There is a very good selection of Aveda products to browse as you wait. I wasn't there long before my stylist, Meg, came up to take me back. She was very nice and attentive. Listened to what I wanted and did an okay job of doing that. The actual cut was good but I asked for no bang. Somehow I left with an annoying bang that I'm still growing out. Sigh. Even with that being said, I'd still schedule with her again but maybe be very firm on what I do NOT want. When you schedule just a cut be aware that you are getting just that. You have to pay an additional fee for your hair to be styled afterwards which I thought was a little peculiar. It really took away from that "feeling like a million bucks" as you walk out effect. But next time I guess I'll just pay extra for it. You can "request an appointment" online through their website but it's not an actual appointment calendar where you can see who is available on what days at which times. Nail services- since my initial review, I have received a mani- pedi and a gel mani. I called same day for one appt and the receptionist got me in a few hours later but they only had time for the most basic manicure and most basic pedicure. This seemed fine so I took it. Both times the services were so very gentle. Which is lovely and almost unheard of nowadays. However, the finished product both times was a little disappointing considering the price tag. The paint was uneven and my regular polish Mani chipped within days. I'm not even at day 5 and they look horrible. The pedi didn't include scrubbing the feet with a pumice stone (an extra add on from what I was told.) can you really call it a pedi if you aren't even getting a pumice scrub?? Sigh. For the most basic mani and most basic pedi (no pumice scrub) I paid $70. The gel mani lasted much longer but I wasn't overly impressed with it either. read more

Lovely place in Old Town Silverdale, right down the street from the waterfront park. I had waited a bit too long to get my hair cut again after having a bad experience with another local salon, and thankfully wasn't disappointed! Everyone there was so friendly and kind! When you come in they offer you some water or tea, and the place generally has a soothing atmosphere. They didn't take too much off of my ends, as I want to keep as much length as I can while getting rid of bad ends- most places tend to take WAY too much off, but both stylists I saw did a great job with it! Yes, I did come back after my first cut :) This is also a great place for people with chemical/artificial smell sensitivities. I can be sensitive to synthetic smells (makes me feel ill) and I LOVE that they use natural products! I also have anxiety issues, and for some reason the smell of hair dye can cause me to feel like I have issues breathing and make me panic (probably a part of the chemical smell sensitivity as well). The 2nd appointment we started off in a chair that the person in the next chair was having dye applied, and I let her know it was an anxiety issue. She was more than happy to move to a chair on the other side of the room so I could be comfortable! I'd recommend this place- it has a calm atmosphere, in a lovely location, everyone is always very friendly and kind, and they do a great job! read more
