I've gone to Apollo Poulsbo for years for mani-pedis, sometimes with great results, other times with meh results. Today tipped me over the edge - never going back to this location. I went in for a shellac removal and manicure. The technician started by using a dremel to remove the old polish, trashing my nail plates and cuticles without actually removing the previous application. They also drew blood in five spots when trimming my cuticles. I stopped them and called it quits after that. Poor throbbing digits are sporting thin nail plates, bloody cuticles, and sad pink remnants of the previous mani. Apollo, please take some time to train your technicians properly. Yikes. read more

I won't say much because a picture is worth 1000 words but wow. I think my friends 2 1/2 year old toddler would have done a better paint job. I will never understand when you complain that your nails look terrible, that they just have someone slap another layer on instead of taking off the polish and doing it right? Wow, just wow. The quality of my spa manicure and pedicure was by far, the worst I have ever had. The gal I had was super nice, but in all honesty, she should not be doing nails. No trimming of cuticles was done at all. The shaping was non existent. The polish was not dry after 10-12 minutes and by the time I drove home and got in where I could put my glasses on to see, almost every nail was smudged. Polish was not put on the entire nails. I would have been embarrassed to go out anywhere with them looking like a 5 year old had done them. I should be refunded the $80 plus dollars I spent on something I thought was a treat to myself. I had to go buy a polish that was somewhat close to the same color and redo my toes and completely had to remove all the polish from my hands. So disappointed. I cannot return or recommend Apollo to others. If not for the nice gal, I would have to give one star. Can't believe it. read more

Paid for a shellac pedicure, which is a 1 hr time slot - I was done in 35 min. Didn't get to soak my feet for very long. The leg massage was done very lazily and when it came to the polish, the edges were not clean. I could also see drip marks after I got home since the polish was not brushed out evenly and one toe was missing the shiny after coat. I am very disappointed at the treatment that I received at Apollo Nails and Spa in Silverdale WA on Sunday, June 25. I needed some help in finding the correct polish. While the receptionist was very helpful, the nail technician was very abrupt and impatient. In addition to that, she cut my nails and did not file them, leaving sharp edges on all fingers; I asked her to round out the edges and she ignored me. She left my cuticles jagged, sore and unsightly. I attempted to have a friendly dialogue with her and I was completely ignored. I believe her name was Gina. I have liked my experience at Apollo for the most part over the years. But the last two days have been atrocious by way of customer service. I had an appointment scheduled for which I showed up to a dark store - no signs on the door or message on their answering machine. Called later in the day, to which they apologized and rescheduled me for the following day. Again, arrived for my booked appointment to which the door was closed/locked. The receptionist came to the door and told me an emergency had taken place and they were closed. No phone call, no attempt to make the situation right or keep me returning as a long-time customer. I don't get my nails done often. It can be expensive and some salons can push extras that add up. But this place is great. I use Lucy who is sweet and does a great job. I get my toe nails painted and my hand nails buffed. They are clean and friendly, plus they don't push other crazy things on you. I now go every 3 to 4 weeks. read more

I went to an appointment with 4 friends Friday July 10,2020 for a 4:30 appointment. The woman I had ended up being malicious and cruel. She thought she was funny. Purposely hurting me and my repeated saying ouch your hurting me it actually got worse. I'm not sure what the issue was as it was a first outing for my friends and I in a long time. We also went to dinner after.. and the ladies in my group also noticed her unprofessional behavior. Not looking up and it ever acknowledging she was hurting me. Though it was repeated multiple times. Then, at the end she was cleaning the nails with alcohol and I mentioned it stung. She then wiped them off, squirted again and asked me if it stung and giggled after I said yes. That's just wrong... Seemed like a pretty clean place. When I walked in, I didn't get a huge greeting. I liked that there was a huge selection of colors. I had a basic pedicure done and it was alright. My feet didn't get to soak for long, it felt kind of rushed. The massage wasn't very good. It was super gentle like she was afraid to touch me. The gal didn't speak to me at all, in fact none of the gals giving pedicures talked to the clients, so it was pretty quiet in there. Would I go back? Probably not. I don't know. I'd give an honest 3.5 stars. Depending on who you get, you will have a different experience each time. Jenny was great and I would go back to her. Other techs have been quiet and looking off to space, either distracted or not enjoying their work. If I'm paying for attention or focus, I'd like to have it. I won't wax here again. The shaping was good but the slow pull was excruciating! I literally had raccoon eyes post wax because I had silently wept the whole time! And I had to actually wash my face, not just dab the makeup away with tissues post experience. I've waxed my brows at Anastasia in Beverly Hills or at a strip mall in the valley and this was still the worst pain ever! The salon is clean and everyone is welcoming. But engagement level depends on who you get. The actual gel nails lasted two weeks, typical, and my pedicure lasted 3-4 weeks. Went in for eyelash extensions. Zero consultation or going through options. Just lay here and it started. Expressed that I don't want glamour lashes as it doesn't fit with my work. Just fill them in a bit basically. Spent $165 and now removing them today, so more monetary outlay. I look like a cartoon character, so they need to come off. Two stars for friendly intake staff. Connie gives the best Brazilian waxes. She makes the experience professional, comfortable and as painless as she possibly can. The wax that they use at Apollo is by farrrrr the least painful I've ever experienced. They don't use wax strips I have never had problems getting squeezed in for an appointment either. I think the most I've waited was 20 minutes when I tried to walk in. Their location is a toss up because its in the corner of old town Poulsbo. But its definitely easy to find. Sometimes parking can be a little difficult. I lived in Bremerton, so the Silverdale location is closer. But I always went to Poulsbo, just because I liked Connie. (The Silverdale location does a good job too though, I've gotten one there a few times). It can be quite pricey for their Brazilian, but I've found out that a good Brazilian is worth it. I have yet to try any other services at Apollo, but I know they have good tanning packages that I was tempted to purchase. Basically, if you've been thinking of trying a Brazilian wax for the first time, at Apollos is the place to experience it. You'll honestly want to come back for another. read more

Not the WORST, adequate for the job. If I just needed a no fuss, in a hurry pedi-, and brow wax, this got the job done. But apparently, there was some sort of drama or issue with the technicians and some of the guests, because my tech (I don't give names on a first review, if I am willing to give a place a second chance. Sometimes, you get crummy service because of something unavoidable) could not stop looking at another set of guests, and the other techs. It was very conspicuous. And odd. It was clear she was in no way focused on my services, which, is why we pay people for a spa service in the first place. My brows were SO overdue that, I won't rate on the shaping of them, I just paid for a clean up, but I did react very dramatically to the wax. And when she pulled, Well, if I was an instructor I have failed her. A wax pull should be quick. This was very slow and excruciating. Probably, partly, why I pinked up so dramatically. The wax was a tad too hot as well. So, again, both got the job done. And I'll give it another go, on the toes, I will look for another brow gal. read more

I used to go here when Connie (owner) used to be on the floor, she does a good job on waxing. Now she no longer goes to the shop and they have some other Viet girl there. I stopped by for a brow wax and SHE FRIKIN SUCKS!!!! I had to use their tweezers to finish the damn job. I swear some of these "techs" need to go back to school to learn the proper ways to do it. I am new to the area and looking for a regular salon for shellac/gel color mani/pedi's. I tried the Apollo in Silverdale first, and then this one, and I have to say the Silverdale location is far better. Both locations have the same selection of colors, which is very small and disappointing. This location was not as friendly and the quality of the mani/pedi was not as good. Also, I am from California and the mani/pedi here is more expensive than in California..... which shocked me. Not really worth the price. I definitely won't go back to this location. read more

Connie does a great job on Brazilians, very thorough. However, they re-use the same stick in the hard wax which means if someone before you had something theoretically it could be transferred to the wax pot. I had a manicure done at the Silverdale location then tried to have it done here and they told me it wasn't possible. I went to a wedding as a bridesmaid without the nails that I wanted. They do such an awful job with the lashes. My lashes normally last at least 2 weeks when I do it anywhere else. But when I do it here, it only lasts 1 week if that. There's only one gal that does them here, so there's not much option of using another gal. She puts on the lashes really thin so it was bad to start with. Celebrated a wedding here and loved how accommodating they were for our large party. The upstairs room was beautiful and fun. I however was very disappointed in my shellac manicure. The lady breezed through my appointment and it was the worst paint job I've ever had. She actually painted right over all of my cuticles. Now that is has grown out it is all peeling. read more

The pedicure was fine except they rush you out. Problem was I made an appointment for their nicest package and they said oh sorry phone lines sent it to other location. They offer pedicure and assumed it was be complimentary since they made the mistake. Not a great way to keep customers. read more
