I really wish I could give them a good review because the atmosphere was great and clean and everyone was nice. I think the lady who did my nails was new at it but it took (not exaggerating) more than two hours to do an acrylic set. Even at other salons where they don't use drills it usually doesn't take more than an hour. Also she didn't put the acrylic all the way to my cuticles which she didn't push back... really not worth the money unfortunately or the time. I had given this place a 5 star rave review about 3 years ago but feel like it is now time to remove my stars and update with a more accurate review. 3 years ago there was a wonderful staff in place here and it was a fun place to be. After being a loyal customer for quite a long time I came to learn that things weren't what they seemed at Longworth. All of the staff was humiliated and brutalized by their boss and were driven away, they all quit. I was called one day and told that my nail tech would no longer be doing my nails and they wanted me to come in an see someone else. Now, I am a very picky person when it comes to my nails and I was coming all the way there from Bainbridge, I sure as heck wasn't going to just let anyone work on my nails. In the time I was there I witnessed unsanitary practices and uncomfortable conversations between the owner and her employees or the owner talking about clients personal lives behind their backs. This is one of the main reasons I discontinued giving my business to this salon. There have been a few times that I have been in the area and thought, heck, I will just stop in and say hi or see if I can drop in for a pedi but each time that happened they were closed or there was no staff to accommodate. The filtered reviews of this place with 5 stars are a joke, friends of the owner just trying to help her out and get her a better star rating. Unfortunately the other reviews that are filtered that are less than stellar are actually quite accurate and in my opinion should not be filtered. Not just the best nail salon in Poulsbo, the best nail salon I have ever been to. We have lived all over the country and I've been to lots of nail salons. You are not just a customer for Kerry, Christy and Amy, you are a part of the salon experience. Everyone is included in whatever conversation is being spun, be it conservative, candid or completely outrageous. And, not only will you not be judged for your chewed up nails or your neglected skin, you'll be encouraged and given solutions that work. I've always had trouble with my nails, and no one has ever kept them looking fabulous like Christy does. She goes out of her way to customize my nails using several different techniques. She also encourages me to come in immediately if I have a break or a need a repair. Kerry is the most knowledgeable aesthetician I've ever worked with, and her personality is larger than life. Sometimes I need to bring my little girl into the shop, and no one dotes on her more than Kerry. She's let her "help" with a pedicure or even given her her own toddler manicure while I get my fills. And, no one is sweeter than Amy. She always makes sure I get a reminder call before my appointment and can always fit me in when the schedule is tight. I was on a routine pickup for my daughter after a slumber party one weekend when I noticed the hosting mother's nails. I asked where she had them done, and she immediately gushed about Longworth Studio down in Poulsbo. I moved up here from Miami about a year and a half ago and didn't have the faintest idea of where to go. Nearly all of the little shops in Poulsbo are locally owned, so you're introduced to a lot of word-of-mouth and referrals. Running on this mother's recommendation, I made an appointment. The woman who answered the phone was Kerry herself, so I was a little surprised. She was very professional but sounded down-to-Earth and easy to talk to. She was also able to fit me in within a day or so, more than accommodating since I was preparing for an interview on the Seattle side and wanted my nails to look perfect. The studio is down on the water in Poulsbo's beautiful little walkabout town. Parking is easy with lots of space to choose from, and the salon has a water view next to a cute little second-hand store. When I entered, a woman named Lynn greeted me with a smile and let me know that Kerry was just finishing up with another client. I took in the entry way and immediately felt at ease. It's not too posh, but certainly not plain. The decor gives you this feeling of being pampered (plush chairs, jeweled candles and a silver chandelier), but has an antique yet chic edge to it. Definitely has a style all its own. Kerry met me at the door as she saw her client out, wrapping up with a little hug and a promise to see her again in a couple of weeks. Her dress was amazing. I've never seen anyone in a nail salon look as professional as she does on a daily basis from head to toe. It reminds you that this is her business, and she does take it seriously. Once we sat down, she got to work looking at my nails. After a quick assessment, we decided to start out with shellac as I'm weary about full gel sets. She began her work, but paused now and then to introduce me to various clients and personnel. I had a feeling of being "at home" with these gals. Various women came in with little things for her as well - some brought treats, others had to pickup makeup and just wanted to say hi. The nails turned out great, and I was back again and have been every 1-2 weeks. I've moved up from shellac to a full gel set, which Kerry maintains for me. I've gotten to know her staff, which are a group of lovely women who really seem to like her and the work they're doing. Some other notes: - Kerry often has her daughter in the shop, doing homework or helping out. She's a great kid and fun to talk with. - There are a number of different professionals that come around as well - many of them handle various niche treatments such as Botox, natural remedies, facials and even massage therapy. - This past month in October 2013, Kerry hosted a makeup class for women in the area. - I've also had pedicures from Kerry's trainees. These pedicures are reduced in price as the students are learning, and I'm willing to let them learn with my feet :) I'm giving you a lot of information in this review (much more than I normally do) because I was appalled to see some of the comments on here. I'm wondering if these folks are talking about the wrong place? I can't speak for them, or what it was like before I started visiting regularly in July 2013, but I can attest for what it is now. To me, this place is professional, fun, relaxing and reasonably priced. I encourage you to give it a shot. Still a great place and the remodel looks phenominal!! I am aghast of how gorgeous this place is. My last treatment took place in the large treatment room where there is a shower for wraps and body scrubs, super calming and pretty environment. I also met with the person that they had come do the Botox and Restalyne. Not having to go to an extra place besides my normal salon to get this done and have someone who comes highly recommended to do it? Felt like a no-brainer. Very happy with the result. If you're looking for a spa-like experience this is NOT the place to go!! The owner seems to think that everyone wants to hear her blather on and on about her political views, her family, and whatever comes into her head at the time. She NEVER shuts up. It's unfortunate because her two employees are the sweetest nicest young women and deserve a much better working environment. I've tried hard to stay on as their customer but Kerry, the owner, has made it impossible. She is the most unprofessional business owner I have ever met. Please consider the other negative reviews before going to this business-I'm convinced most of the positive ones are from her personal friends. Also, if you have ANY concerns about covid spread, this is not the place to go. The owner opts out of wearing a mask and although her employees do, many of her customers do not. I have had my nails done at many places, but Kerry at Beautifully Polished is the best. Manicures and pedicures I have received from her are flawless, and last longer than any other nail service I have received. Kerry is a wonderful person with a wickedly funny and frank sense of humor, and I always feel welcome and relaxed when I go to the salon for some "me" time. I have also had my makeup done by Kerry - the makeup was beautifully done and and very comfortable - it lasted perfectly all day with no oiliness - even though I have really oily skin. The owner Kerry is so rude - crude - socially unacceptable! New customers are made to feel so bad! I will never go there again!! It's too bad - because one of the employees was great - but you have to put up with listening to the owner. What should be a very relaxing experience turned out to be very stressful!! Kerry puts her staff down right in front of customers - and I'm"m assuming she does it to try to make herself look better - NOT WORKING! I feel bad for her employees - they have to put up with her in order to work there! I refuse to go back - I'm not about to support her business - even if it means not going back to the wonderful girl who did my nails! I agree with what others have written - about the wax, etc. The wax pots looked really dirty - double dipping the sticks, etc. There were also stains on the sheets in that room! Stay away! On March 3rd, 2015, my face was damaged by the micro needling treatment that the owner, Kerry, talked me into. I was so happy with my skin as it was, I had told her I did not want to do it, but she assured me there was absolutely no risk or down side, and that I had to try it, so I accept responsibility for finally agreeing. She assured me that in 48 hours my face would be healed, and I would go about my business as usual and wait for the beautiful results. I have seen doctors and several skin specialists since then to try and repair the damage. The capillaries and pigment changes were easier to remedy, however the textural damage from the needles is still there and at this point, looks like it may not be recoverable. As I have just finished my 8th painful and expensive treatment to try and fix this, I am realizing that I really need to let people know so that it doesn't happen to you. Of all of the professionals I I have seen, one consensus is the same - that if it performed correctly, a micro needling treatment would never cause this damage. The most disturbing part is the reaction I received from Kerry, the owner. After obtaining some professional opinions on what needed to be done, I asked her if she would like to meet with me to view the damage in it's current state and discuss solutions. She went into "protection mode" and told me she did not have time to meet with me, that I would need to send my concerns in an email so they could be addressed. She then responded by offering me a small sum of money in return for signing confidentiality and non-litigation paperwork, which I declined. I have known Kerry for several years, and she has mentioned to me in the past that people had complained about being damaged (both by pedicures and facials), and even though she had called these people friends until that point, as soon as they complained she referred to them as "crazy" and tried to get rid of them (as clients) as fast as possible. I now realize they were probably not crazy. it is devastating to have your face damaged. If you are considering any facial treatments at all, please do a lot of research, and above all, spend a little more if you need to, and go to a true professional. read more

I had a facial. This place is really a nail place. The gal (owner) is supposed to be at an elite level as an aestetician. The music came from her cell phone which was grating and had poor sound quality, the table was not very comfortable, and the worst part was that her long nails were scratching my face as she did the facial, and the entire experience was just ok. They use good products which is why i went there, but everything else was underwhelming. Maybe a great place for make up and nails, but go elsewhere for a facial. read more

I am new to the area and had a hard time getting an appointment with multiple other (better reviewed) nail places when it would work for me. Beautifully Polished is near my work so I thought I'd give it a try. I had an excellent experience with Ali for a gel manicure and regular pedi. Both look flawless. Everyone working here was very nice and I personally enjoyed my two hours of "me" time. Customers and staff were all chatting and having fun and the vibe was good. I liked that a mani table could be wheeled over to the pedi station so that I didn't have to move. I could just let my toes dry while my hands were being done! This place does not have the big fancy massage chairs that are now fairly typical in a nail salon. I found my chair a little uncomfortable and thought the pull-out water bucket that hides underneath was a little surprising. I had something similar in Puerto Rico, where I was previously living, but... it was Puerto Rico. I also would LOVE it if a beverage was offered. Wine or champagne would've earned this place 5 stars. But I wasn't even offered water. I'd recommend this place and will continue to go back. And no, I'm not friends of the owner. I am seeing Ali again tomorrow for a fix (my fault) that is offered free of charge for the gel mani. I think that's a nice perk. Plus, you can't beat the view of the water! read more

Let me start by saying, it is a breath of fresh air to have found Longworth Studio! I went there without an appointment to see if I could get a quick remedy to a horrible job from another local business (see my other review written on this date). Kerry was incredibly busy taking care of other clients and yet was so accommodating in helping me take care of my hands. I was especially thrilled as I am leaving town in a couple days and needed the prior bad job fixed. She provides amazing service, is extremely personable and I cant wait for the appointment I scheduled for when I return. Until I started going to Longworth Studio, I'd never had my nails done regularly. I'm now there every 2 weeks--it's a treat to come home with beautiful hands, after enjoying time in a salon that's lively, fun, and pampering. Kerry and her team have phenomenal memories about the names of colors I've worn before, and a knack for recommending just the right hue when I ask for suggestions. Appointments tend to start and end a bit late, but since I'm there to relax, I'm not playing Beat the Clock, so it's usually no big deal. One thing that's amazing to me: since I was a wee small child, I'd gnawed my cuticles absolutely raw and nothing had helped me stop. Then about 6 years ago, I tried hypnosis AND began getting regular manicures with Kerry and---wait for it---in short order I had NO MORE PROBLEM with that anxious habit. I just have beautiful nails. A month ago I came in and had a so-so pedicure. I just found out the person that did my pedicure was not licensed as a manicurist and performed my service illegally. Comfortable environment, friendly staff. These girls know their job and do it well. I had a few facials done by Kerry and she really focused on what my skincare needs were rather than doing a "blanket" or "one size fits all" type of facial. Their manicures and pedicures are some of the best I ever had. I currently live in Kansas but would commute to her studio for my skincare and nail needs if I could. When I found myself in need of a new nail technician, I used Yelp to find my way to Longworth Studio. From day 1 the service has been exceptional. Kerry, the owner, has a fantastic friendly staff. Appointments have been made at my convenience and even if I have to wait (which happens fairly regularly because I am always at the end of her day), it is always an enjoyable experience because the clients are super friendly. Kerry is exactly what I was looking for - a highly trained professional who listens to what you want and does an excellent job on nails with the filing and shaping all done by hand, not with a dremel tool! I've been to a lot of nail salons in my life time and this one wasn't much different from the others I've been to. I was referred by a friend of mine who said she'd had a great experience with Katie so I thought that I would give it a try. She was 20 minutes late to my appointment and as she sat me in the chair to start my pedicure, the client that just left came back because something wasn't right. So Katie got up, left my there and went to work with this client. I thought that was out of the ordinary. Then another client came in because her nails were lifting but thank goodness, Katie turned her away. The ambiance left a lot to be desired. There was very little sitting space and because it's a small salon, its quite loud and someone's daughter was running around making even more racket. Took my little girl here on a mommy-daughter day, and had a great time! Excellent service, down-to-earth and friendly staff, and a wonderful location. The studio itself is a lovely little place to get away for a few hours. I also had the owner (a licensed aesthetician) look at my skin and recommend some products.
