Given the current cuts DOGE went about with a chainsaw, one would expect the SSA to be off pace a great deal. Well you'd be wrong. My experience has been exemplary. They seem to have really stepped up their efforts to still provide the best service. I expected this to take time given the numbers of physicians I see, specialty care, records from more than 6 different offices or agencies trying to be precise with details. I was under no illusion this would be a fast process. I wouldn't want it to be. Decision of this magnitude deserve time so they can be thorough. Given all that, and the people there having to go in to work under pressure of threats to their very careers and livelihoods? That alone would crush the spirits of even the toughest worker, so I fully understand they are fighting a battle now, yet they dig in. I feel for every worker out here in this new environment of fire first, ask questions later. I for one could be more proud of the job they do. We're all going through a struggle, some of us more than others. It's good to have an agency within our government that is here to help make that struggle more bearable, less alone. 5 stars isn't nearly enough these days. A few others came and hour later and it was still quiet. While the hearing was going on, I sat in the waiting area and talked to the individual providing security. He is actually part of Homeland Security, he's not a contract business. Found that interesting. He was a great guy, passed the hour and half pretty fast chatting with him since it wasn't busy. Place is clean. There was another older gentleman on the other side of the sliding glass window answering phones. That was sort of weird actually, he was a bit loud even even with the window closed. Building is nice. Not sure it's age, tho it doesn't look old. Been well kept. Exterior shares a cobblestone drive courtyard with a high rise hotel. It's really pretty out there with all of the trees. If you come here, it's because you have to, it's not a place to recommend as it's not an elective place to attend. Tho, if you do have to come, it's a pleasant experience.

Sent request to Doctor office, stated had to be stamped. Finally got the letter, no stamp (they don't have one) Went right back, 20-25 minutes later process completed. We showed up about 20 min before the appointment and checked in using the link they either email or text you with. In total from walking in to walking out it probably took about 20 minutes. We were called up to window #5 and the gentlemen who helped me was great. He was very quick with my request but not in a rush kind of way. He was super nice while fulfilling my request. Unfortunately, the DPS is an entirely different experience. Both offices may provide the necessary documents for operating a vehicle in Texas, but the speed of service is worlds apart. The problem is not with the efficiency of the workers themselves; the problem is with the number of workers. DPS needs to open more offices or greatly increase the number of windows open at each office. There is simply too much demand for the supply. Yes, the employees operating the line inside and outside are bitchy. But who can blame them? They're out there day in and day out dealing with crowds of people who don't want to be there, who are inpatient, rude, and unmerciful toward the employees. Their employer offers them no hope of improvement - no light at the end of the tunnel where they'll hire 50 new workers to meet the demand, reduce the stress, and relieve them of their burden. This is their life. Every day. Dealing with this line, these people, this work environment. Of course they're bitchy! Outside of increasing the number of service windows, my suggested improvements would be to allow people to make appointments days or weeks in advance (California DMV does this), to increase the size of the waiting room so more people can be seated indoors, to install some sort of shade structure for those waiting outdoors in the heat or rain, to make more services available online or at AAA, and to remove the "no food inside" rule. There's a good number of kids that get dragged to the DMV, and it's unreasonable to remove snacks as a distraction while they wait for so long. In case it helps, I tried for days to make a same day appointment online and there were never any appointments available. I showed up on a Friday at 10am but the line was literally around the building so I drove home. Today I showed up at 7:30 and I was probably the fiftieth person in line. I got in the building a little after 8 and was out the door by 9am. I did discover that you can get a same day appointment if you go to their website at 7am ON THE DOT, but I decided to just show up and wait. All in all, an hour and a half isn't the worst wait I've had at a DMV before. This may be Texas, the land of deregulation and limited government, but it's still the DMV guys.

What an incredible visit to the DPS Mega Center! Yes, you're hearing me correctly, I had an awesome…read moreexperience. This center knows how to do handle crowds and their needs. There are lots of staff roaming through the waiting room answering questions and ensuring everyone has the correct paperwork filled out correctly. I was there for a renewal of my driver's license. This time around I had to take a driving test. I hadn't had a driving test for over 6 decades. The need for a driving test was due to my left leg amputation. The state had to ensure that I was safely able to control my vehicle. My number was finally called and I "scootered" back to the kiosk to meet the representative that would be helping me. Nicole, my representative, was AWESOME. She was so helpful. Nicole also administered my driving test. Troupers no longer do this. She was very through delivering instructions during my test. I had practiced my parallel parking the evening before. Heck, I hadn't paralleled parked in ages. To sum up my story, I passed my driving test with flying colors and experienced exceptional service from Nicole and all the other personnel who were so helpful.

I turned to the attendant and only received an apology. She then stated that it was best not to help me, even though I shouldn't have made a mistake.
