In January, I brought my cats to get them examined, but more importantly, to get them as "established patients" because I was fearful if an emergency happened, and I wasn't an established patient at a veterinary office they wouldn't see me. Just a few days ago, my cat was panting, and his back legs were paralyzed. I called the vets office in a frantic panic, and it was approximately two hours before Their scheduled closing hours. I was told by the receptionist that they were all going home soon so I would have to bring my cat to an emergency animal clinic in Brewster immediately because it could be a cardiac event and that I should hurry up and put him in the car right now. So it was clear that this was an emergency and the vet was still in the office and according to the hours still had about two hours to go before closing, and yet they refused to see my cat. I'm really disappointed in this office. My poor cat had to go through a half an hour drive when it could've only been 10 minutes. These people don't care about animals at all. However, we were not advised about random Saturday closures and lied to about "free nail clippings" with every visit. More recently when we visited for a shot and asked the vet to take a one minute look at our puppies leg she didn't have time to feel it but just to observe her walking. Great service and a true animal lover right there! They also like to stagger shots that other vets give simultaneously to get more office visit money out of you. When told of our disappointment with it was suggested we find a new vet. Gladly! I wouldn't give this place another penny after the dishonesty and lack of caring over the past few weeks. Remember a written response is just words. Actions speak louder than words. For those who still go there all the best luck and hope you never have any issues with them and all those who are considering think before deciding who you choose for your pets well being. There are many vets out there who are out for your pets best interest. Also, repeat sedation is also not safe for your animals so the fact that all they continuously want to do is medicate and sedate because they have no other options to deal with animals who have any issues is not a positive. A side note that we have used Middle Hope for years and this is how they treat their patients so again their concern of best interest for the animals is only to protect themselves and not try to work with animals that have issues.. The concern that Middlehope states about giving prescription medication for was about my dogs ear and I was asking for ear drops not pills. They can say what they want to continue to defend themselves and their facility but in the end they are not for the well being of the animals. They want things only their way. They are just money grabbers trying to take over the area with their continued expansion. Trust me when I say do your homework there are many other better vets out for the well being of your family members.

We had a number of tests, and each time, whichever Dr. provided me the results, explained everything in detail, took their time with me, and the office staff always extremely responsive and compassionate. I must single out Dr Krouse, who I first met last July with Meadow. She sat on the floor with my girl, until my girl got comfortable with her and allowed her to feel her belly. This was not a 2 to 3 minute sit, this was a 15-20 min sit. Dr. Krouse took her time with every visit to ensure Meadow got the best care and that I understood everything. This past Thursday I had to make the decision that Meadow was at end of life. It was not an easy decision, it never is. Dr Krouse talked with me, assured me the time was right. There are not enough words to say thank you for the compassion for my Meadow that was given, the respect, the love that was given to both myself and my girl. She even remembered how afraid of needles Meadow was and took time to ensure she was not scared in her final moments. Dr. Krouse and the entire staff have been extremely kind, compassionate, shown respect to both of us. I brought my dog here on a Saturday because my vet was closed, the dog wasn't eating well, and I thought she might have part of a tooth that had fallen out still in her mouth. Compassion's owner scheduled her for a dental procedure the following Tuesday with an estimate that ranged on the high end to about $2,200, adding that he's not trying to steal business from my regular vet. As if. When my regular vet saw the dog on Tuesday, she immediately said, "Her teeth are fine. There's no partial tooth in her mouth." My dog's blood test came back on Monday, and her liver values were high, so Compassion scheduled her for an ultrasound that would have cost $200 more than the ultrasound she ended up having at my vet's office and take two days to read, whereas the sonographer at my vet's office read it immediately. In addition, Compassion's owner called me on Tuesday morning and said, "I thought I was very clear -- the sonographer can't come today" after I had been told that the sonographer would come that day, and then called me back, not to apologize for his haughty tone but to say he was mistaken. In addition, on Sunday when I returned to Compassion to pick up meds, an unhelpful vet who acted like I was wasting her time with my questions said my dog might need fluids overnight when she had not even had fluids during the day, so that made no sense. There is no compassion and a lot of naked salesmanship, overcharginging, and ignorance here. Next time I have a weekend emergency, I would definitely drive the 45 minutes to Guardian Veterinary Specialists rather than deal with this incompetent, unprofessional practice.
