They are all friendly and caring with me and my dog. I have never had a bad, not even a poor experience. Always caring and patient with me and my dog. One review said they are always looking to jump on performing surgery. I did not have that experience. When my dog was diagnosed with bladder stones, they showed me the X-ray and said they would try to treat it first with some antibiotics to relieve the infection and with some meds meant to break up the stones. After six months and another X-ray we did need the surgery but that was not their first line of treatment. I love this office also because there is never four or five animals in the waiting area. Maybe just one other at most when I've been there. The wait to seen is never long.

It was still very early in the morning and so no doctors was in yet. The technician told me she could not take the responsibility to even advise me on what to do and just left without showing any sign of empathy or friendliness. In the end, I spoke with Pet Poisonning and my dog was fine but I am still shocked by the lack of humanity from people at this veterinary practice. I will definitely not choose them as my regular vet.

We had a number of tests, and each time, whichever Dr. provided me the results, explained everything in detail, took their time with me, and the office staff always extremely responsive and compassionate. I must single out Dr Krouse, who I first met last July with Meadow. She sat on the floor with my girl, until my girl got comfortable with her and allowed her to feel her belly. This was not a 2 to 3 minute sit, this was a 15-20 min sit. Dr. Krouse took her time with every visit to ensure Meadow got the best care and that I understood everything. This past Thursday I had to make the decision that Meadow was at end of life. It was not an easy decision, it never is. Dr Krouse talked with me, assured me the time was right. There are not enough words to say thank you for the compassion for my Meadow that was given, the respect, the love that was given to both myself and my girl. She even remembered how afraid of needles Meadow was and took time to ensure she was not scared in her final moments. Dr. Krouse and the entire staff have been extremely kind, compassionate, shown respect to both of us. My Meadow is Resting in Peace, she left this earth in my arms, and thanks to Dr. Krouse and her staff with love and peace. Jill Indelicato Highland NY

More Hudson Valley bush-league bullshit, and the owner comes across like a slick used-car salesman…read moreor religious crusader whose goal is to get people to part with their money. I brought my dog here on a Saturday because my vet was closed, the dog wasn't eating well, and I thought she might have part of a tooth that had fallen out still in her mouth. Compassion's owner scheduled her for a dental procedure the following Tuesday with an estimate that ranged on the high end to about $2,200, adding that he's not trying to steal business from my regular vet. As if. When my regular vet saw the dog on Tuesday, she immediately said, "Her teeth are fine. There's no partial tooth in her mouth." My dog's blood test came back on Monday, and her liver values were high, so Compassion scheduled her for an ultrasound that would have cost $200 more than the ultrasound she ended up having at my vet's office and take two days to read, whereas the sonographer at my vet's office read it immediately. In addition, Compassion's owner called me on Tuesday morning and said, "I thought I was very clear -- the sonographer can't come today" after I had been told that the sonographer would come that day, and then called me back, not to apologize for his haughty tone but to say he was mistaken. In addition, on Sunday when I returned to Compassion to pick up meds, an unhelpful vet who acted like I was wasting her time with my questions said my dog might need fluids overnight when she had not even had fluids during the day, so that made no sense. There is no compassion and a lot of naked salesmanship, overcharginging, and ignorance here. Next time I have a weekend emergency, I would definitely drive the 45 minutes to Guardian Veterinary Specialists rather than deal with this incompetent, unprofessional practice.

Our daughter had the car, so I called Dr. Barbara MacMullan and she came over after she was done working her day job, at a local Vet's office. For $50 she did a full exam, weighed our cat, clipped his nails, examined his ears, eyes and mouth and talked to us at length about the options. We didn't want to lance the abscess because it was so close to the eye, so she prescribed amoxicillin. Two days later our cat was on the mend. We didn't have to take him anywhere! No stress. And a $10 savings from going to the Vet. A Vet who makes house calls is great. A Vet who makes thorough house calls and follows up is amazing. And Dr. MacMullan definitely falls into the latter category. :)

I made the unfortunate mistake in seeing Dr. Yasson two years ago…read more Initially, she was able to help with diarrhea that our cat was having due to antibiotics when she recommended slippery elm which cleared it up quickly. After that though I wish I'd known to find someone else. At the time my cat was having a lot of issues with IBD and constipation. We had tried a number of diets and kept having to switch things up because nothing was helping. By the time we started seeing Dr. Yasson we had her on novel protein freeze dried food, which helped her stop vomiting, but the new problem was constipation. We kept having to up the amount of pumpkin purée in her food to try and keep her regular that we were giving her a full tablespoon each meal. I started seeing Dr. Yasson because she advocated for feeding raw and tried three different times to get her help in switching over to raw. She told me initially how to transition by doing half ground turkey cooked with half ground raw but nothing more. I didn't know what to put with it to make it complete with the right amount of nutrition nor how quickly to transition her to being completely raw. I brought it up again and she told me to hold off until we were able to get her teeth cleaned. Fast forward a few months and I made another appointment with Dr. Yasson specifically to get our cat switched over to raw. When that time came and I brought it up her words were, "Let's not fix what isn't broken." How could she not realize how much she needed to be taken off of the freeze dried food? She was having terrible constipation issues. A few months later we had to run her in to the ER to get her unstuck and that's when I knew I needed to find someone else. Unfortunately the damage was done. I found out she was in stage 2 renal disease. The last year and a half has been a nightmare due to her kidney disease and it has been extremely costly. I regret with every fiber of my being that I didn't go to someone else sooner as this window of time was crucial to stave off kidney disease because the freeze dried diet was way too hard on her kidneys. I do not feel that she listened to the severity of her symptoms nor that she cared. I blame both her and myself for not having sought out someone else as soon as it was clear she wasn't going to assist with what our girl needed.
