Ask the Community - Community Animal Hospital

Is there a veterinary cardiologist on staff& are you open 24 hrs for emergency?

We are not open 24 hours, we work with the Hudson Valley Animal Emergency Clinic off of Patrick Lane in Poughkeepsie, when we are closed, they are open for emergencies. We have a board certified cardiologist who does our echo cardiograms.

In January, I brought my cats to get them examined, but more importantly, to get them as "established patients" because I was fearful if an emergency happened, and I wasn't an established patient at a veterinary office they wouldn't see me. Just a few days ago, my cat was panting, and his back legs were paralyzed. I called the vets office in a frantic panic, and it was approximately two hours before Their scheduled closing hours. I was told by the receptionist that they were all going home soon so I would have to bring my cat to an emergency animal clinic in Brewster immediately because it could be a cardiac event and that I should hurry up and put him in the car right now. So it was clear that this was an emergency and the vet was still in the office and according to the hours still had about two hours to go before closing, and yet they refused to see my cat. I'm really disappointed in this office. My poor cat had to go through a half an hour drive when it could've only been 10 minutes. These people don't care about animals at all. Oh, and if you want to look me up ACE, my name is Danielle Brown (Coffey was my prior name)

When taking our new puppy there we heard all about the raw food diet and pills you could get through them - of course at a major markup. However, we were not advised about random Saturday closures and lied to about "free nail clippings" with every visit. More recently when we visited for a shot and asked the vet to take a one minute look at our puppies leg she didn't have time to feel it but just to observe her walking. Great service and a true animal lover right there! They also like to stagger shots that other vets give simultaneously to get more office visit money out of you. When told of our disappointment with it was suggested we find a new vet. Gladly! I wouldn't give this place another penny after the dishonesty and lack of caring over the past few weeks. Glad to find out now though before wasting any more money or trusting the care of our new family member with a business that is just out for money.

We've been visiting Full Circle for at least six years now and are so thankful for their unparalleled care, communication, and professionalism. Dr. Michelle is amazing - always helping us with routine checkups and emergency issues. Highly recommended overall. The office is just off RT. 9 and easy to find. Again, the best testimony is the fact that we trust our pets' lives with the team at Full Circle. ‍‍

DCAH has always given him their fullest and sometimes too much attention as he is does love it ( if you know Corgis you know what I mean). Recently Logan pulled a nail out and we had need of immediate attention on the weekend from DCAH. They got us right in and gave Logan great service inspecting his injury, bandaging it and giving us a full report on how to look after him. This type of consideration is truly appreciated especially when one has a crisis. In our case thank goodness it was small. DCAH staff is always welcoming, considerate and loving to all pets. Dr. Haight provides Logan with the care one wants and should expect from their vet. Thank you DCAH for almost a decade of care for our now more mature older Logan.

They don't even deserve on star but the system needed me to put something in. I contacted them in…read morethe morning at 8:35am on Saturday, May 2nd, that my dog was having trouble breathing. I was told to take him to an emergency vet service even though they were open and my dogs difficulty breathing came from medicine they had prescribed. I was told they didnt have an open appointment and only one vet on. I told them I wanted to speak to the doctor. They said they were with a patient and would have to get back to me. This was around 8:55am. I live less than 10 minutes away. My dog died in my arms less than 1 hour later. I was stunned that they showed no compassion to myself or my pet who they had cared for since 2010. The doctor called me at 1:15pm and stated, "I'm calling to see how Cooper is doing". I informed her that he passed away in the morning. She never apologized or addressed the fact that they wouldnt let me bring him in. Maybe there is nothing they could have done but I guess we will never know because they didnt care enough to see him. They definitely are not the same place they were years ago. The only thing that is important to them now is money, not the pets that we love. My family is brokenhearted over the loss of our Cooper.
