I reached out to one technician. They charged an unbelievably low price. I then called Leo from Kai Electric to price shop. Leo picked up and was very nice on the phone. He quoted me over the phone based on my description of the issue. But he told me if the first guy was serious, it was a good price. So I called back the first guy. Through a series of unfortunate events, it became very clear to me that Leo was right. The first guy was unserious and unprofessional. I called Leo back. He came out the NEXT MORNING to confirm the price and take pictures. He sent me a reminder text the day before. They were on time the morning of. He had previously advised that I would be without power for approximately 6 hours to replace the panel. I was out for exactly six hours. He and his workers were friendly, efficient, and professional. He even installed a GFCI outlet, which was something that we found during his work and not previously quoted. I have a Tesla and will be calling Kai Electric back out to install my EV charger. So yeah, I definitely recommend them for your power needs!

Jose and his crew arrived right on time and got straight to work. Like many people, I had seen some reviews mentioning delays in communication. But after watching them work, I actually appreciated why that might happen. Unlike other contractors I've dealt with in the past, José and his team were completely focused--no phones, no distractions, just solid, professional work from start to finish. On top of that, their pricing was very competitive--honestly, one of the best quotes I received in town. And even with the fair price, there was no compromise on quality. Everything was done cleanly, safely, and efficiently. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend JMR Electric to anyone looking for electrical work, especially EV installations. After moving into a home that is 20+ years old, I had a few updates and repairs on my to-do list,…read moreincluding electrical work. There were some places in the home where the lights weren't working (basement, garage and spotty service in the back yard). Peter and his team were phenomenal. Peter came out on a Saturday to take a look at everything. Because my electrical panel is in the basement of the home (and I think it was the original panel too), Peter showed me where some water had gotten into the panel, causing rust. He recommended updating the panel altogether and putting a weather seal around the panel (both from inside and outside the house). Peter was very understanding in allowing me to take a beat to do my research and consider the investment, since it was a larger one. Aurora Electric/AA Electric Contractors are A+ rated via the BBB, and the reviews here on Yelp and Google were helpful in building confidence. After doing my research, I was able to feel like I was making a solid investment. The quote was reasonable - especially considering the lifetime of the seal/panel is roughly 50 years. Peter's team was accommodating with my schedule and came out to do the work on a Saturday. The guys were so kind and Peter stopped by during and after the work wrapped up to check on everything, which really shows how committed Aurora Electric/AA Electric Contractors are. Their work was top notch. The panel and seal look great and already the work has been put to the test with all the nasty storms that have passed through the Chicagoland area in the last few weeks. I'm delighted to report that everything is working wonderfully and this takes a tremendous pressure off my shoulders knowing that the lights will be on in my home for years to come. Thank you Peter and team! When moving in, it's vital to find reliable and trustworthy electricians, plumbers, etc. I will absolutely be calling Peter and his team for future projects and needs. *Full disclosure note that I'll be re-posting this review across a few different service platforms.
