A simple "PASS" will suffice. This was the worst meal that I had during my trip to London last year. The service was horrible and the food wasn't too far behind.
Saw this place near a cute food alley off Irving street. The storefront looked adorable and their posted outdoor menu looked promising. A gentleman who was standing out front kind of lured me in by telling me a little bit about the restaurant. I was convinced and headed inside. Once I got inside, I literally stood there for about 5 minutes until the waitress finally acknowledged me. She had passed me by a few times before even saying anything. Kind of a red flag right there, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt.
She finally sat me and gave me a menu. It didn't take me long to figure out what I wanted. Gnocchi. It sounded really good from reading the menu. About another 10 minutes goes by, and she still hasn't come back to take my order. I understand that it's busy, but an acknowledgment would have been greatly appreciated. Not sure what happened between the time that I sat down and when she came back to get my order, but homegirl came back with the nastiest attitude ever.
I ordered the gnocchi, a side salad, and a pineapple juice. She kind of rolled her eyes when I told her that I didn't want an alcoholic beverage. Um... okay. Just be happy that I waited for your ass to come back because I would have surely left had I known that I would have been met with such an attitude. Let me tell you y'all... this food took forever to come out. FOREVER. It felt like years had passed by. The weirdest thing; she brought my "salad" at the same time as my entree. I honestly felt like she forgot about it.
So... about this "salad". I spent literal bucks for a couple of green leaves with olive oil on top. No dressing... no other additives... just olive oil. Waste of money period. And the gnocchi was a major disappointment. It wasn't doughy and tender like I'm used to but rather very dense. Virtually no seasoning in this dish, and the sauce tasted like it came from a can. No authenticity whatsoever.
Although it took her what seemed like years to serve me the food, she then proceeded to bring my bill while I was still eating to try and rush me out to seat other people who were waiting at the door. This is one of my absolute biggest pet peeves. And you bet your ass that I sat there until I was ready to go. I guess this seemed to piss her off even more because her face was saying everything when she kept passing by and see if I had put my card down for payment.
F*cking unbelievable. I guess there's bad services to be had no matter what country that you're in. This was the absolute worse dining experience that I had during my time in London. Only adding an extra star for the friendly host who persuaded me to try them and the other hardworking people who were basically helping her do her job that night. Would not recommend at all. read more
