    Such a gem in borough market! They don't take reservations so be mindful especially if you're a party of 2 that you will be on a waitlist. They have a larger table for 6 that is usually open so if you have a bigger group you may get seated quickly. That said this is a cozier spot with 2 floors. The food is worth the wait. The prices are very fair and reasonable for high quality pasta.

    Best pasta ever! This is our second time. We have tried almost all of the pastas. Our favorite Pici de peppi, thick good noodles made fresh. Second favorite the classic parpadella ragu. Can't go wrong with any choice. Fresh ingredients, homemade pasta, made right I front of you. If you want the best Italian food come here. The drinks also very good, staff are great. Not a single complaint. We love it. If you have to wait, wait it's worth it.

    Michelin bib gourmand Italian restaurant in Borough Market. No reservations but they do have QR codes posted out front for a digital waitist. I recommend getting on their waitlist which will expedite getting a seat. Came at opening, with a couple others in front of us but was able to get seated in the first wave of the restaurant. Sat at kitchen bar counter and was able to see all the food being cooked, which I always enjoy. All the pasta is freshly made in house. You can see them cooking every noodle to order. Tiny kitchen but the team works smoothly in the space. Upbeat, chill atmosphere. Cacio e pepe - perhaps their most popular dish. Noodles cooked perfectly al dente and you can tell how handmade they are as they we rustic and imperfect. I did enjoy this dish a lot. Tagliarini with crab - lots of crab meat mixed into the noodles. Noodles were a very thin and cooked well, however, I don't know if i loved this choice of noodle for this dish or not. I didn't dislike it but I felt like I was getting clumps of noodle threads in every bite and the noodles were very long. Definitely worth a try. It's considered $ on michelin guide and the prices are affordable, especially compared to bay area pricing. Just go early to avoid long waits.

    cacio e pepe was gorgeous. oh my goodness. service was quick and so friendly. ugh that pasta. i loved. smaller serving sizes but left without feeling sluggish and stuffed!

    This is really a 4.5 star rating. Only thing I didn't really "like" was that the bar was NOT self seating. When I walked up there was 4 open seats and I still had to be put on the waiting list. Other than that. It was great REESE was so sweet and took great care of me. I ordered the crab pasta (tagliarini with Dorset crab chili and lemon) it didn't have enough spice for me but the flavor was good. Very causal atmosphere. I was able to sit at the bar too and watch the cooks make all the food from scratch including the pasta itself. And the pricing was more than fair. Would definitely recommend.

    First dinner in London was at Padella and it did not disappoint. After a long day of flying a little Italian live from Padella hit the spot. All the food was fresh the staff was friendly and helpful and we were seated overlooking the chefs so we got to watch them cook everything from scratch. It was a small space but intimate.

    Ordered both the papardelle with ragu and the fettucine with cobble lane cured anduja. The fettucine was my favorite pasta I've ever had!! Just an incredible restaurant experience. Service was also so kind and attentive.

    I had the radicato salad with mint and balsamic vinaigrette sprinkled with fresh flakes of Parmesan. Absolutely delicious. As a second course I had the pici pasta with cacio and Pepe. All of their pastas are freshly made. The pasta was excellent and the cacio and pepper sauce very good but a tad salty. The sauce consists of pecorino cheese and black pepper. Pecorino cheese tends to be a little salty. There is normally a long line to get in but I came after the lunch hour so it was not very crowded. Fast and pleasant service. UPDATE I was at a bookstore and saw the Padella cookbook. So I looked up the recipe for cacio and Pepe. Their version is not made with pecorino cheese (sheep's milk) but using Parmesan cheese (Cow's milk). The traditional recipe from Rome is normally made with mainly Pecorino but some restaurants will add some Parmesan to cut the strong taste of sheep's milk.

    10/10 pasta, tastes like it's straight from Italy! (I say that as someone who studied abroad there). I got the lemon and butter sage ravioli and it was so good. My friend and I went around 6pm on a Wednesday evening and it was pretty busy. The seating in the restaurant is quite tight and cramped, but it's cool because you can see the chefs making your food right in front of you. I'd definitely come here again, but probably at a less peak time!

    I want to fly back to London just for this pasta. If you're looking for the perfect, moody and cozy place for dinner or a date with fresh food in the heart of Borough Market, look no further. The bruschetta was out of this world, I want to know how these tomatoes were grown!! The pasta was perfectly al dente and we couldn't even get a pic of our tiramisu it was too good to wait. Our service was attentive and gave great recommendations too!

    Padella was recommended by several friends prior to our London trip, so we made it a priority to go... When we stopped by on a Thursday mid-day, the wait wasn't too bad -- about 30 minutes for our party of four. We walked around the Borough Market a bit (there is plenty to see and taste there) and were seated downstairs in a timely manner. Our server was Italian and super kind despite how slammed the restaurant was. Pretty sure that is the norm there! We started with fresh sourdough and olive oil, burrata and mixed olives... all of these apps were solid! For entrees, we shared the tagliarini with crab, chili and lemon, pumpkin ravioli, and a simple spaghetti with butter. I was shocked that my kids didn't love their spaghetti, but my husband and I enjoyed the rest of the food... If you're seeking authentic Italian in a casual environment that is moderately priced, put your name in at Padella and enjoy. Just don't eat too many snacks at the market while you wait ;)

    Food was beyond amazing, the staff are so welcoming and fun to chat with, the outdoor patio seating is the way to go that way you can see all the street life as you enjoy your food! Get the pici Cacio e pepe it was beyond flavorful

    Oh my! Padella has me dreaming about pasta everyday!! We loved it so much we returned before leaving London during our vacations. On our first visit we sat at the bar and had the opportunity to see how coordinated and incredible busy their kitchen is!

Mostly appetizers, pastas and some pesce and carne dishes. Not a destination, but a good spot and one of the few restaurants on the street open on a Sunday. The downstairs basement hosts a cocktail bar that was closed on the Sunday we visited. We enjoyed the feel of the place, along with a bit of montepulciano d'abruzzo, some olives, a green salad, pork belly and a toothsome risotto with zucchini and prawns. Not a bad meal, priced pretty well, and a nice setting with friendly staff. We had such a good time that we failed to notice the police inspectress inside talking to the Paesan crew. The white and red police tape line both inside and outside the restaurant were in our peripheral view the whole dinner, but once outside, we noticed that a gigantic police triangle of tape took up the entire street corner, a female inspector was stationed there, and that down on the cobblestone sidewalk, a streetful of dessicated lemon and lime wedges lay from the night before, leading us to ponder, what exactly had happened here?

The waitress was helpful and calm and the red wine warm and fruity. I'll come again for definites. There is a cocktail bar in the basement and a choice of some interesting sharing options on the main menu for groups. Prices are very reasonable and if my meal was anything to go by, the rest will be as good. I am well impressed.

Instead of trying to resolve the issue professionally, the owner became extremely rude and dismissive. Shockingly, he brought us the bill immediately, refused to serve the rest of the items we had already ordered (including the tiramisu), and directly asked us to leave the restaurant. We were calm and respectful throughout the interaction, but he refused to even listen to our side before abruptly ending the conversation with, "I'll get your bill," and telling us to leave. I honestly don't know whether he was irritated because we had an infant with us or because we requested a modification, but the behaviour was completely unacceptable and deeply disappointing. I still can't believe a restaurant in London could treat customers this way. Truly unbelievable service and an experience I would never want anyone else to go through. We initially ordered 3 items. The pizza was absolutely fine, so we never raised any concern about it. However, the pasta simply didn't suit our taste buds, so we politely requested a few alterations. Instead of handling it professionally, you refused to serve the tiramisu as well -- assuming we'd dislike that too and ask for modifications? Honestly, I wish I had taken a picture of the pasta to show how it looked. As a restaurant owner, you should understand that every customer has different taste preferences. And just for clarification -- we never asked for the pasta to be cancelled. In fact, we were even willing to pack it and take it home after paying for it, despite not liking the taste. You were the one who offered to cancel the remaining order, and we simply agreed. I would humbly request whoever is in charge to please check the CCTV footage and see whether we were ever rude while requesting alterations. Throughout the interaction, you only kept speaking from your side and didn't even give my wife a chance to explain. Is that really what good customer service looks like?

Both dishes ample portion size,although the code dish was far tastier with the tomato sauce being more hearty in flavor. Tip included with price in England. Service good, but surprised no heated bread for an Italian restaurant.
