I cannot stress this enough - Locale is awesome! The food was great, but the staff were even better! Ruth was our waitress and she absolutely MADE the experience! My husband told them it was my birthday, and Ruth went above and beyond to make it a special and unforgettable night! We were sat and immediately greeted by the incredible Ruth. She is the sweetest and best waitress I've had in London! We started the meal off with bruschetta and it was some of the freshest, most delicious bruschetta I've had! We also ordered a bottle of the Rose. Great wine! I had the pancetta and it was delicious. Super creamy and flavorful! The tiramisu was delicious and the salted caramel ice cream with mouthwatering! Was looking to get some Italian for dinner and lucky our hotel was a block away from the Locale so we decided to check it out. We arrived around 8:30PM and we able to get a table. Our waiter Michael came over an he was great. Went over the meu and was able to break down any questions we had. We ordered drinks and of course a couple apps. We went with the Funghi Ripieni ( Stuffed Mushrooms) and the Calamari. They would out pretty quickly and the Mushrooms were great. Full of flavor for sure could have eaten a couple orders of these. The Calamari unfortunately was pretty underwhelming. I was just very plain and had no seasoning in the batter. The Sweet Chili Mayo didn't help much either. For sure would have been better with Marinara. There were a lot of entrees and pastas that looked good but when fresh pasta is on the menu I always have to go for it. I picked the Tagliatelle which is served with a Wild Boar Ragu. This dish was very good and very hardy. You could tell the pasta was fresh and this serving size was also very big. I wasn't even able to finish it. For sure would recommend getting it. Ashley got the Tonarrelli Carbonara which might have been the best dish of the night. I was also a large serving so I got to try a lot of it. The Locale is for sure a great place to get some fresh Italian food and make sure to ask for Michael so you get amazing service too. read more

Pizza I ordered was very nice. 12inch pizza with optional toppings on. Margarita is my fav. It was nice and very tasty. Plenty of wines options. Pasta available and also appetizers that's won't disappoint you. Service was nice and we got seated right away. Lady made sure we are happy with their food and everything was okay. She also helped me choose glass of wine! Ambience is okay/ clothes are causal. If you hungry and craving pizza, you should consider to visit this place in London;) Tiramisu came last so I got a pic of that (at least) ;) Not far from west plaza Westminster. We were out and about in the hustle and bustle of tourist activity and sightseeing in London and just needed a break from all the people when we just happened upon this gem. It was wonderful to sit in their outside dining area where it was shaded and a little breeze for the summer day. The service was spot on, the cocktails were delicious and the food fresh and tasty. Here we are on our first day in London, tired from a flight from the USA that was delayed by 4 hours only to check into our hotel that lost power. We trudged up 5 flights of stairs to our room. No a/c, no water, can't charge our devices. So what are we to do? Look for food! Right around the corner from the hotel is Locale. Comfort food seemed like the correct choice and a correct choice it was! The food was excellent, plentiful and reasonably priced. We shared a rocket salad and a pasta dish along with wine for my wife and an IPA for me. The pasta was perfect. Al dente with a rich tomato sauce and sausage. Enough to share for two with a good appetite. The experience made all the better with our waiter/concierge/ comedian Flori! What a wonderful way to begin our vacation! read more

Margherita Pizza was good, hence 2stars. However the Caesar Salad dressing was extremely rich and chicken tasted old and the carbonara tasted very different than what I am used to! When we told the waitress her response was "well it's Carbonara" and walked away, she then came back and took it away! I definitely will not recommend Locale! And we paid full price for our meal .....not ok and poor customer service! read more

This spot was happening today! I saw them turn away mutiple groups that did not have a reservation. Thankfully we did and they seated us right away thought we were 30 minutes early. The cider and all the items that we ordered were good but the service was exceptional. Jack the manager is incredible. I saw running around the restaurant making sure that everythig was on track and still had the time to engage with each table. He gave us a lot of tips on things to do on this trip. We were staying at a hotel right around the corner from the Locale so when we were told to check this place out I thought no way will it be both super convenient and super delicious but I stood corrected. Our waiter Michael was so enthusiastic and fun it really helped make our dining experience a 10 out of 10. We came around 7:45 on a weekday as a party of 6 and got right in. We ordered a couple of appetizers for the table; Funghi Ripieni (stuffed mushrooms) and calamari. The stuffed mushrooms were a huge hit, they were super flavorful they also had a perfect texture. Unfortunately the calamari not so much of a hit it was just not very seasoned and I prefer my calamari a bit more crispy. For my meal I ordered the absolutely delicious Tonarrelli Carbonara, make sure you add pepper for the perfect combo of creamy, peppery and the salty from the pancetta. Very single bite the flavors built on themselves and it got better and better. I was super hungry when I walked in but I still think this meal was delicious and worth every single calorie! I would recommend everything except the calamari but I would highly recommend Michael as your server and Tonarrelli Carbonara. read more

We booked this restaurant for a pre-theatre birthday lunch for my son who has learning disabilities and severe allergies. The food we ordered was either delivered cold, below an average standard or not as described on the menu. Side orders were forgotten and served randomly. As a family at no point were we able to eat together. One particular member of their staff in full view and earshot of us decided to approach not only the manager but every other member of staff in the restaurant to point out, stare or constantly glance over and complain about us. This made the whole experience extremely upsetting, uncomfortable and unacceptable! The manager did adjust the bill accordingly for the dishes affected however no apology was made for the unprofessional behaviour of one of their waitresses. read more

Made a reservation a few weeks back for Easter Sunday and was seated promptly on time. We reviewed the menu and a lot of items caught our eye. We started with the bruschetta and that was delicious. For our mains we got the chicken milanese and paccheri pasta. The staff worked as a team and were attentive. My 3 stars are because they were out of the Caesar salad, the gnocchi, and the lasagna and we were planning to order those menu items. The chicken milanese was pleasantly delicious and ate every bite! My fiancé shared that his paccheri pasta was bland and too Al dente. If you are looking for Italian, I'd go elsewhere! read more

The food was quite easily 4 stars. The service and prices brought this trevor's to 2. We spent the day exploring the South Bank and were ready for a late lunch. I found this restaurant on Yelp and decided to give it a try at 4pm. Upon checking in, we each received a Yelp promo from the restaurant for a free small glass of wine or beer. I showed this to my server who immediately said "not for here." I advised him the voucher says it is a gift from Locale. He then grabbed a manager who was unfamiliar with the promo, and she took my phone over to an owner of the restaurant to discuss. After 10 minutes of discussion it was decided that we could each have a 125 mL glass of a house wine, and we were told by the manager which reds and white qualified. When our server came back, he told us completely different wines. We each had a glass of the Malbec and enjoyed it. From there, our server was done with us. Water was put on the table without being poured. All of the conversation we got was "are you ready?" The attitude and disdain were apparent. Despite the service we enjoyed the food. It was very good, but NOT worth the experience and hardly worth the price. It is the kind of food you can pretty much find anywhere, and I highly recommend you find this food somewhere else if you value having a positive experience. When we received the check, we were charged for one of the glasses of wine. When I asked the server, he said "the voucher is only one per table." I pulled up the voucher and asked him where it said that (because it does not), and he stormed off to get a manager. The manager asked if each of us had a voucher as it is one per person, not one per table, and after we each showed her she took the wine off of the bill. read more

Locale takes good advantage of its location in a busy tourist district to provide a family-friendly offering that can be an oasis for recharging the batteries. Cheese/Margherita pizza: tasty, would've liked a little more color on the crust. Cheese and spinach, ravioli, quite nice. Lasagna: béchamel sauce was a good not great. I did not want to be rude as the people working there were really nice, so I asked for a box and ordered another dish. My colleague had ordered Carbonara as well and ended up dropping a lot of salt and pepper to make it taste better. This gorgeous restaurant has wonderful food, but is expensive for a group with children. When visiting Downtown Abbey in London, my famished family was excited for an Italian dinner. The pizza and pasta (I loved the Ravioli) were both delicious. Our server was very friendly, and our food was served relatively quickly. The only issue we encountered were some strict policies (kids meals for those under 8 and each guest is expected to order a full entree). If your family (like ours) is used to sharing meals because of different sized appetites, then perhaps this could pose a difficulty. I definitely suggest the Locale to anyone looking for a lovely spot for a sophisticated dinner. read more

This was our best meal in London, we only wish we'd found this place before our last night. We ended up here because we were staying at the Marriott County Hall and were looking for a place to eat dinner at around 8:30pm on a Monday night. This place was packed with nicely dressed locals and it was lively, so we figured it must be decent. First thing we noticed was that the host, hostess, and our waiter were all Italian. So that was a good sign. We had the calamari to start. It was delicious, the breading was flavorful and salty enough, and the calamari was tender (not chewy like so many places). Then I had the Pizza Diavola, and it was fantastic. Crust with flavor, crunchy on the bottom but still with some bend to it. Great sauce and cheese, spicy meat was excellent. My partner had the pasta carbonara with added chicken. The pasta was perfectly cooked, sauce was balanced, meat was good. We would definitely eat here again next time we're in London. Very bad establishment for one reason and one reason only: poor customer service. We came in the London cold from a twenty minute walk only to be told that they can "close whenever they like" and they closed earlier than both their website and google said they would. We came at 7:31, while their business apparently closed at 7:30. While I hate to try to get food after a business has already been closed, this is frankly unacceptable as we never even knew their restaurant closed so early when their google said 10:00 pm. While I realize that Sundays are not very profitable for businesses, if you have customers you should at least try to serve them. Please go to the other restaurants on this street, as they don't have nearly enough customers and don't waste your money on this place. read more

Locale was one of my favorite dinner stops while my mom was visiting me in London. She's a bit of a picky eater, but the menu here had enough variety (and foods familiar to an American palate) to appeal. I started with the burrata which was just okay. It was not as creamy as other burratas I've had, so should I come here again, I'll skip that and stick with the mains. For my main, I had the vegetarian ravioli with sage and butter sauce which was divine. My mom got the lasagna with a side of garlic bread and she was pleased with her meal as well. Service here was great - attentive without being overbearing. You can't beat the location either. It's convenient to both Waterloo and Westminster stations. Overall, I recommend Locale as a great place to grab dinner if you find yourself in the Southbank area. It's got a nice ambience, good service, and lots of delicious foods to choose from. read more

Stopped here after riding the London Eye and waiting for what felt like forever in line. The pizza oven was not working but we ordered the pasta which was delicious.
