Caffe nocciolata

Absolutely fabulous! I can't say enough good things about this restaurant! Everything, and I mean everything about it was wonderful. Reservations on line easy. We needed to add two people to our reservation, no issues. Got there and we were treated with such welcome! The place was lovely with round tables for our larger group. Why don't more places do round tables. Genius! The service was fantastic. We had multiple servers but I think his name was Henrique. Now the food! I rarely go to a restaurant and everything is good. Bucca Di Lupo didn't miss a beat on anything! They cook like you are in Italy! We tried almost everything. We got the following: Asparagus risotto, spaghetti with wild garlic pesto, rigatoni with spicy sausage, fettuccine alla carbonara, egg and cheese balls in tomato sauce, borage and spinach pansotti with walnut sauce, grilled sea bream, and the lemon salad. Damn it was all so good. Wine lovely and cocktails delicious (Negroni's). But the coffee with egg in! Must try! So decadent! All around if you are in SoHo go! Run!

Good meal here! This place had been on my list for quite some time, so I was excited to get a reservation. We ordered a few different things to spilt. The standout dish here was definitely the ragu, which was clearly homemade and absolutely delicious. The pesto dish as well was lovely! The lemon pasta dish didn't quite do it for me, nor did the desserts. The fried mozzarella balls were tasty, but not particularly interesting or creative. Overall very good spot!

Pre-show food was good, but they wet packed and running a bit slow in the kitchen, and it was taking a bit longer than expected. When they came back to ask for our main entrees, I asked if we could order dessert in advance as we were trying to make our show, which was a bit further than some of the other theatres (we were going to see Cabaret). The very arrogant manager came to ask me why we were in such a rush, and when I explained to him that we didn't want to be late to our show, he said in the most condescending tone possible, "everyone has a show to go to -- just relax." It took FOREVER for them to bring our check (it almost felt like they did it on purpose), and we ended up rushing to the show and only made it about 5 minutes before it started. I'd maybe come back for a regular dinner if someone else suggested it as the food was good, but the pre-show experience was stressful and the manager was obnoxious.

This is a really special place. From entering, the staff was incredibly kind and attentive. I was seated before my reservation time without comment, was offered really yummy foccacia and olives, and was even helped to get my seat pushed in at the bar. I did the prix fixe option, which I love, and the food was really amazing, moderately priced, and fun. This is now one of my favorite restaurants in the world, and I'll definitely be back.

Wonderful Staff!

Dined on a Wednesday night, packed as always. A small dining room with a staff that is exceptional, It's a team that works well together. Keeping an eye on every table. Advising you on best combinations from the menu. Makes you feel like a special guest. Special shout out to James!! The food, as always, is outstanding. The simplest dishes are superb. The carbonata was incredible. you could taste each ingredient. The John Dory and the pappardelle were wonderful. We came back for a late night snack on the following Friday and were not disappointed. Seated at the counter we were treated to watching Frieda run the bar. Wonderful!! and great fun!!

Excellent Italian Excellent menu Great wine selection Portions can be considered small if you are coming from Canada or the US. But they are very satisfying. I did like the face that you make any dish as an appetizer or main size. Our waiter was not very warm and put a bit of a damper on the evening. Ost of the other staff were very nice and on point. The decor is modern and very small with around 9 tables. I would recommend this place and would come back.

Panzanella - tomatoes, cucumbers, capers and bread salad. The salad is tossed and the dressing is soooo delicious

This is one of my favorite restaurants in London. A very lively place, very friendly and attentive service and really amazing food. Multiple staff came to check on me since I was dining by myself. They were so friendly despite the restaurant was absolutely packed. Most of the selections come in half size and full size. I recommend ordering the smaller half size and order a few things to share. Reservation is highly recommended because it's not a very big restaurant and it's right in busy SOHO. A quick 3 minutes walk from Piccadilly Circus. Ask your waitress or waiter for their recommendations. The menu changes frequently.

Solid variety of Italian food choices from all over Italy. My personal favorite was the tagliata - it beats some local steakhouses imo! Great spot for a date or pre-theatre dinner with friends!

Fritti!

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the world. The ambiance is perfect. The food is delicious and the service is warm and friendly. Could not love this place more. Always top of my list for London trips. Special shout-out to host to the very friendly Lucy who remembered us speaking on the phone when I arrived and helped us get seated at the bar. Additional praise for our server India for the great recommendations and service with a smile. Bury me here!

We spent 4 days in Covent Garden and ate out every meal. This was by far my most memorable meal. The gnudi was so delicate but packed with flavor and the lamb ragù tied it together perfectly. Not pictured in my review was a wild garlic and morel linguini that I think about every day. They make all the pasta in house and the service is great. We were met by our server then had a short chat with with sommelier to help with drink selections. We chose this place based on a recommendation and I look forward to sending others there and especially revisiting it myself. The restaurant is small and cozy so make a reservation if able. There seemed to be a bit more space at the bar if you don't mind the high top there's a great view of the kitchen operation.

Excellent food and service. A bit on the pricey side. But great food. Pasta and seafood were great.

Yum! Delightful, intimate,…read more Enjoyed the pasta de fruit. Lovely flavors. Small seafood bits. The clams were Very small. Close to my hotel. Would come again. .

My husband and I stumbled (quite literally) into Bocconcino after hitting a wall of jet lag and…read morehunger. The hostess took pity on us and allowed us spots at the bar without reservations. The bartender was absolutely charming and amazing, and he made a truly outstanding Ramos Gin Fizz (a cocktail from New Orleans that few people know how to make, and even fewer want to make). Not sure how that cocktail came up, but he seriously deserves a round of applause for making not one, but two. He truly revived my soul! I split the gazpacho and short rib pasta with my husband. The short rib pasta was magically both light and hearty; it was exactly what we needed after 18 hours of travel. We frequently travel, and I am highly skeptical of Italian food when outside of Italy. Bocconcino was an authentic experience that rivals many of our meals in Rome. Maybe it was jet lag, but I did almost lock myself into the water closet and luckily after a few minutes manage to unlock the stall door without calling for assurance. I suggest visiting with a friend for gossip and security! As far as ambiance, there was great people watching with the Saturday evening patrons; it was an experience in learning about London 'going out' fashion, and watching the very attractive staff interact with customers was a prime education in upper class customer service/flirting. My parting comment is that the bartender stole my heart and I hope to have another of his delicious beverages on a future trip!
